Was thinking more with the what.. 135% mana regeneration the KE can get, and from what everyone says, the rift mage's main concern is cool down instead of mana.
Rift Mage or knight enchanter?

If u use other spells besides just Spirit blade then u won't always have a full mana bar.
+1. Ironically the KE's less efficient mana management play directly into conductive current's power, which plays into fade shield's, which plays into chaotic focus... You get the drift.
For real fun and games, with conductive current + chaotic focus, deploy static cage then follow up with immolate. Burn, baby, burn.

My only experience with Rift Mage has been on Solas, but getting him specced and geared properly it's just insanely fun and powerful. Pull of the Abyss alone is worth it, but then there's the knockdowns, Firestorm, insane mana regen, which make you feel like a crazy destruction-hurling machine. Really a welcome change from the KE, imo.

This is one of the most face-meltingly satisfying combos in the game, imo. ![]()

People seem to forget that they can play the Knight Enchanter as a mage who casts spells from afar and only uses Spirit Blade when enemies get up close and personal to them.
That way you can still be powerful and balanced.
Knight Enchanter just becomes broken if you pick the passive that gives you barrier for every attack + fade step + clean burn + flashpoint. If not, it is perfectly fun to play on Nightmare and Hard.

i find it fun with all the passives i like to be in front lines beating enemies down in exploding inside them.

To be honest it's the fade cloak what's awesome for a experinced player. Moment you master this simple ability everything changes because lot of enemy on NM broke your barrier or/and broke your attack sequence with their heavy attacks but fade cloak takes that away from them.
