Yeah, I'm a Gundam fan. Like most people I was familiar with the original Gundam anime but I did not become a Gundam fan until I started watching Gundam Wing.
Gundam 00 is my favourite Gundam series.
Gundam: Seed comes an extremely close second although I think Gundam: Seed Destiny lets the the 'Seed' universe down a bit.
Destiny's biggest mistake was switching from Shinn to Kira, they should have left Shinn and Athrun in the lead roles. After they went back to Kira being the main character most if not all of Shinn's character development was undone. I still enjoy Destiny to a degree, but I feel it would have been leagues better if they had just left it to Shinn's viewpoint.
I'm not too familiar with the Gundam universe, but recently my friend got me into Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, and I like what I've seen so far.

All of the Gundam series are radically different from each other and take place in different timelines, so if you don't like one series, you might like another or vise-versa. There are a ton, at least 13, I think 14 or 15 in total.

1. Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam -I loved it when I watched it years ago, it takes a while for it to build up, but it ends up being great
2. Gundam Wing -despite its flaws, I enjoyed it a whole bunch.
3. Gundam Unicorn -I liked it, I find parts of it a bit flawed, but it was pretty fun to see the end of the U.C.
I agree completely.
I like Shinn on paper but I had a hard time warming up to the guy, he was just so angry and whiny all the time. The English VA job did not help. Shame really, his backstory and his motivations were interesting, shame I found him completely unlikeable.
I have other issues with Seed Destiny but I'll leave that for another post.
Actually, all this talk about Gundam: Seed makes me want to re watch the series. It's been about 5 or so years since my last Gundam marathon so I'm long overdue for a binge session.
They redid Seed and Seed Destiny in HD, they even edited in some stuff, so it would be a new experience.

Cool. Introduce us your top 3 Gundam series.
1-Gundam UC (079, Unicorn, etc). It is the original timeline and 079 is a wonderful classic. Unicorn was the last to come out.
2-Gundam SEED. I enjoy the story, love the mechs and Lunamaria Hawke.
3-Gundam 00 has kick ass mobile suits and mouth watering battles.

Most follow a dark tone, one's struggle through war. However there are more light hearted series.

Shinn was something that was needed. Kira's alright, but Lacus should really encourage him NOT to cry so often. Watching Kira getting shot down and him getting the Strike Freedom Gundam was worth it though.
I'm glad when it came to red heads that they replaced Flay with Lunamaria. The former was irritating and the latter was great. She was somewhat of the Red Comet, but not quite.
Also if you watch the HD remaster, around ep. 43 you can see a scene with Rey, Shinn, Meyrin and Luna.

Gundams are the superior mechs. Though larger, any Gundam like the Strike Freedom or Exia would utterly destroy the transformers very, very quickly.
And as for LOTGH, I'm working on it. I as of right now have other animes I'm watching but I'll add it to the list.

Based on The Origin manga, currently published by Vertical in a great edition. Great comic by one of the original series artists. Also main reason I´m losing interest in the original timeline, no Artesia after this makes me lose most of my interest.
Which other timeline do you recomend me? And anybody knows if I can get them in Region 2 DVDs?
And apologies, but my favorite mechs have to go to VF Valkiries from Macross...
