For those who have dwarven or qunari Inquisitors?

This question may work better for those who have rolled multiple races or played through more than once, but pretty much anyone who's created a dwarf or qunari could probably answer this.

Without going too spoilerific in terms of dialogue/story, has being a dwarf or qunari Inquisitor been a unique experience as opposed to your archetypal human? I know being a qunari has some acknowledgement (even in my brief time I created a qunari there were tons of remarks about being an 'oxman') and having my first full playthrough as a male elf mage my race and class were acknowledged tremendously (at least, in my opinion. My character felt like an elf mage and not a human warrior with a slim body and pointy ears).

Highly considering either an elven or dwarven archer as my second character. I'm interested in playing elf again due to Solas/Cullen (and the fact I love elves) but if the dwarf can offer a unique experience like the elves (and qunari, to an extent) do, I'd find that hard to resist. Also might consider rerolling my qunari but making her a warrior just because I already played a mage and couldn't go through with it again (need a serious cooldown on my mage experience before rolling that class again lol).

I'm not very far in yet, but there are a couple nods to the fact that you're qunari.

That said, I think the conflict of being elven and the herald is probably going to be the most potent combination.

My dwarf has had some interesting comments, particularly as the race is well known not to have a connecrion to the Fade. I'm definitely rolling an elf next and I'm curious to see how that changes the conversations.

(Qunari) Tiny bit of bigotry/racism illustrated - but feels rather canned.  Nothing "Oh Wow" as of yet.  I'm a tad bit past Skyhold working on specialization quests (24 hrs)

Elves get pretty significant conversations from my experience, namely from certain party members.

I played with a friend last week, and I played a qunari mage with very different results from my friend's human mage. From what I saw in the first few hours of our playthroughs, the NPC's were a bit more sour with me, and Cassandra was surprised by my faith in the maker. Overall our experiences were pretty similar, but I imagine that if I get a bit further there might be some trouble with the Chantry among other things. Damn it, I wish I had my new telly!

So, I've been playing a Human Mage, which has suited me fine, but I'm curious if all of the other options are characters that believer in the Maker and the Chantry?

I understand the Qunari is, because they couldn't have someone that followed the Qun, but what about the Dwarf and Elf?

That is actually not true. My qunari mage has made it abundantly clear on numerous occasions that he is not Andrastian and does not believe in the maker. I can't imagine it's different for the other races.

I play a qunari who believes in the Maker. It's awesome.

I told Cassandra in our first open conversation that I believe in the Maker, her surprise was less than overwhelming. I haven't made it very far yet, (seeing as how my mate moved back to Australia) but once I get my new tv I'll be playing a qunari mage again. I got to finish what I started soon.

If you play as a qunari mage and talk to other qunari would you get insulted (eg. called a slave) due to them enslaving mages?

There are other Qunari besides Iron Bull?

Dwarven character has a lot of references; don't run too fast or you may miss out on some banter.

Yeah, as a dwarf, there have been quite a few references to me being a dwarf. Far more than Origins, actually.

The chantry is having issues with my rather obvious dwarfiness. They are specifically having problems reconciling my race with me being the popularly accepted Herald of Andraste.  I'm not far enough along to see the rolution to this, and have no gone to the Orlesian Ball just yet.  We'll see how this plays out over the weekend.

My Qunari has gotten a lot of unique stuff so far. Orlesian nobles acting bewildered at this 'savage creature' being well-versed and civil is a favourite of mine. :S

I have a brief look at the character creation for each of the races, interesting to note that the Elf is Dalish and the Dwarf is a surfacer. So the Elf according to that doesn't believe in the Maker/Chantry, but the Dwarf could, I guess like the Qunari its open to interpretation of the player in the answers they give.

There are plenty of nods to my dwarf's Carta background, as well as various 'so ... you're a dwarf then' conversations. A LOT more than there was in Origins once you got past the first few hours. I'm also impressed by how often people refer to her as Cadash.

You get to choose whether or not your character believes in the Maker. My Inquisitor was clear with everyone from the beginning that she believed no such thing and that everyone thinking she was any kind of Herald was crazy.

There have been a number of nods to my background, some specific quests, and even someone who refused to speak with me because I was a qunari. I recall one moment when I burst into someone's house and they screamed in terror at the qunari coming to kill them.

This pleases me. If I wanted to play someone who was constantly oppressed and looked down on, I'd have picked an elf.

I'm rolling a female Dwarf and - even a few hours in - have been delighted with the ways in which the game has reacted to that choice.

Qunari is referenced for sure. Not just your casual 'oxmen', but a lot of nice touches. I especially liked Iron Bull's reaction upon meeting Adaar. Also, there are unique dialogues about your background with Bull, Leliana, Josephine, you get special missions. Dorian comments about you and qunari in Tevinter as well. Sera and Josephine are impressed by how tall you are.

You can even be supporter of the Qun and unhappy about Adaar parents' decision to leave. Not sure if it leads anywhere, since I did not take those options. But they are there.

They did a really good job with races this time!

I'm playing as a dwarf and people like to refer to two things. First, almost no one will accept the fact that you are the hereald of Andraste, even if you decide to believe it yourself. Secondly, people like to take the fact that you were a member of the Cadash crime family and throw it back in your face. It seems like whenever I meet someone new and important they have to ask about my past.

I'm only a little bit over 6 hours in on my Male Dwarf Warrior playthrough. I've gotten a few references and specifically enjoyed Sister Hevara telling my dwarf that "My people have never been friendly to the chantry". However, as an Female Mage Elf (10 hrs logged in) I seem to get more dialogue trees about my background. People make the same type of comments that they make to a dwarf and then some. I'm wondering how playing as a dwarf or qunari compares to being a regular human. Elf seems really different, but I when I make a human character it will interesting to see if the Dwarf was just a skin with a few extra lines or feels like a totally different experience that is gained like when your Main Character is an elf.

Speaking of unfriendliness to the Chantry does anybody know if your decision in regards to Brother Burkel and the Orzammar Chantry from Dragon Age Origins is mentioned in game, particularly if you are a Dwarf? Spoiler tag the answer if you know it please.

Most dialogs where race would matter seem to acknowledge it, from what  I've seen. I liked the ambient line in a certain branching path of the story where the torturer is yelling "Tell me how the Qunari knew to be at the Conclave!" or someting like that. I think your race definitely matters more in Inquistion than it did in Origins.
