from what it sounds like and what im playing, Dalish elves get alot of extra dialogue, especially if youre a mage

As a dwarf it's not huge but yes there is a difference. Background is mentioned a bit too.

I've had a lot of comments regarding being an elf. It's actually quite consistent, and of a good volume. Not too much too distract and not too little to feel irrelevant. Also, arguing with Solas on elven values is great fun.
Sera and I also have some unique dialog options due to us both being elves, even if she refused to awknowledge it. I'd say I have had much more dialog 20 hours in so far then I saw in the entirety of DA: O.
It's lovely.

I've definitely noticed a pretty significant difference so far between my first playthrough (Qunari mage) and current second playthrough. (Dwarf rogue Whether it be your greeting to Iron Bull changing slightly, or entirely unique dialogue choices, there's a very distinct difference between races so far. My favorite moments for Qunari so far being Josephine's introduction to you involving her bumping into you and going "Oh... I didn't expect you to be so... tall." or something along those lines, or going to

I picked a Qunari Mage. It can be interesting to hear some of the responses to a Qunari being the herald of Andraste, romancing Cassandra has some extra spice and the converations with Bull have a little extra something to them. So in general it feels as though you are having a unique experience.

If you pick human, people don't comment on that. People comment on you being nobility.

I would really like to thank BioWare on this one. It's truly awesome to be thinking in a scene "hey, my class / race has an impact on this dialog" only to see a Special option pop up where you can apply it.
For instance, minor spoiler at the beginning of the game:
Great stuff all around.

They don't comment on you being human, but there is plenty of additional dialogue about your character being nobility or a Free Marcher.
Also in one of the conversations with Dorian, he

My main is an elf mage, it's awesome how it certain places I can comment on being an elf or a mage- equally hated LOL
My dwarf/qunari I'm still working on. Still, people are like 'you can't be the the chosen one you're-ahfsfshsfsfhsfshf!!"

I've been playing a dwarf and I love him. I also think that, over all, the American voices are better than the English ones. Not just because they sound deeper and richer, but some of the deliveries by the American male actor (forget his name) are absolutely fabulous. Playing an elf afterwards has made it clear...

I'm letting my freak flag fly by beeing a Qunari mage and so far i haven't been dissapointed. Acually i don't think i've played an RPG where your characters race/class gets referenced that much. A favorite thus far has been having a significant handicap when winning the favor of a certain court.

It's Jon Curry, who also voiced Zevran
. I haven't heard him as the Inquisitor yet, but given his great voice work in other parts I'm looking forward to it.

Sadly, due to computer issues I haven't been able to play much, but there's some rather interesting conversations with Bull if you're playing a Qunari that are clearly based off your race (and class in the case of a mage). Like others, it's clear you're playing a non-human that causes certain biases to flare, but they add flavor without hindering the game.

I thought Jon was the English one?
EDIT: No you're right, he's the American voice. Fabulous. Now I can see why the staff were so impressed with his audition!

I'm playing as a Qunari Mage and I feel like the NPCs really notice; 50 hours in and just about over halfway through main quest and it is quite interesting. It's not like everyone is running away screaming or going "ehrmaghd you're so tall" (though PC has gotten that reaction multiple times), but most NPCs were wary of my character at first due to being both a qunari and a mage. The special dialogue with either characteristic works ("I will set an example for mages!" ; "You got a problem with me [being Qunari]?"), and people acknowledge it (Bull thought it hysterical that a Qunari was the herald, Blackwall originally thought herald was human before meeting PC, everyone acts surprised/indignant that a Qunari Mage "believes in the Maker", etc etc). One of the most immersive experiences that I've had in a video game, and it's a nice touch.
