IMO Shadow strike seems to be a waste of talent a button on your bar. There a far better bursting combo for a DW rogue.

i was wrong.....deathblow triggers only on enemies with less than 50% like someone else said BUT i was wrong because i tried on weak enemies, since the first hit counts. I mean...
You hit and enemy with 60% HP of his total...with the first hit of deathblow his HP goes down to 40%,you get the second strike.
Shadow strike now seems really powerful on Cole but i never got a critical with it,even if maybe is a stealth but since i use it only in stealth
I should test it more.

'flanking is charging the enemy head on'
Thats what I usually do, treating flanking as a second invisablity action, any damage is nice but not so important.

Shadow Strike Worth it.
Why?
1st. It is stunlock. You can stunlock Despair Demons, teleporting mages. It is mobile target buster, and it stunlocks target under Flask of Fire. Also i use alot of sleep-eldritch Nightmare combo, and with MErcy Killing its auto-crits for me anyways since most of targets are panicking.
2nd. The major pro of it is Cool Down Reduction. Each spam lends you serious CD decrease, so you get decrease on flasks, and you get decrease on stealth (which is also cleanser for you) if you fight tought target. I is have linear moving animation, and could be used to move without need of acceleration (chatacters have some second of acceleration before htey start moving at full speed, and this spell could save you that without wasting cd/stamina.
Tho i might admit, i use it on Quizzy while controlling him . Once i am on CD i switched to Cole, and used Twin Fangs and Death Blow. So i had all 3 covered in the party. Simply SS fits so well with Tempest with that decreasing thingy, + it enchances his already great CC capabilities + allows him to shatter some targets frozen by him with Flask of Frost.
On other size for assasin and his Free Stealth on kill thingy, and shorter CD main abilities, i would go for TF + DB combo.

In my experience, there are issues with all 3 skills.
Twin Fang -- occasionally wonky positioning, nothing too bad
Deathblow -- sucks up all your stamina
Shadow Strike -- very easy to miss moving enemies
Really, Twin Fangs is bread and butter for me. Solid damage, knockdown, armor break if upgraded. Can't go without it.
Shadow Strike is decent once upgraded. Great synergy in certain fights with upgraded Flask of Fire. But for the most part I use it to knock down a spellcaster or something.
Deathblow is great for taking care of archers and mages. Then again, Twin Fangs + Flank Attack usually does that anyway.
I don't know. For me it's Twin Fangs > Deathblow >> Shadow Strike. If Shadow Strike didn't miss so much, it would be more useful.

i don't use Twin Fangs anymore. Animation is too slow after hit
I usually use flask of lightning to send enemies below 50%HP and then finish them with Deathblow
Flask of fire when i prefer to attack from distance with throwing blades (nice damage)

I think Twin Fangs is bread-and-butter for most DW rogues. Yeah, the recovery animation is reeeeally slow and leaves you vulnerable, but other abilities aren't much better that way.
I really, really want to like Deathblow, but the total stamina loss is a dealbreaker for me. So right now it's Shadow Strike. Plus the Flask of Fire + SS spam cooldown reduction is pretty cool. Seems like you can have a flask up a large majority of the time.
