Eh, let's agree to disagree. The effects in the Jurassic World trailer are not as impressive when you take a closer look, but I'm not saying they're awful. Maybe they will improved.

Exactly.
The movie is still 6 months away, and digital effects work is usually finished last.

Alright ladies and gentlemen, time for a reenactment from the original "Jurassic Park" movie.

I'll be honest, my interest in this pretty much begins and ends with Chris Pratt... that and finding out who in the film thinks resurrecting aquatic monstrosities like that thing is a good idea. Yeesh.
Thoughts?

The new Dino is a mixture of dilophasaurus and Dennis Nedry.
It's a Bloater with a huge venom belly.

So the director says the reason you see them feed Bruce the shark to the Mosasaur is because they can mass produce Great Whites. That's somehow scarier than anything else... lol
Makes you wonder if they cloned that flock of condors Hammond had talked about, & if the world outside the park is full of their cloned/modified animals.... This would be a good entry point for them to bring in that prion disease the dinosaurs had, from the books.

So there is the possibility InGEN has been cloning more endangered species.

There's mention on the website I believe about Mammoths (Which is something we're trying to do IRL).
So there is the possibility InGEN has been cloning more endangered species.
That's been pretty interesting, the IRL bit. There's the Korean/Russian team working on it. Apparently one of the scientists on the Korean side was disgraced & there was some terrible controversy a few years back but now he's working on mammoth. Sounds dodgy, but perhaps this project is some kind of redemption for him... But the Koreans have had great success cloning dogs from what I've read. Considering dogs are their thing, I've wondered why they don't attempt to clone a dog or wild canine from samples as old as mammoths? If they can prove the concept with an ancient dog, I'd feel slightly more safer with a mammoth... As they would have to use an asian elephant mother, & it's hard to justify risking her life I feel.
But there are other projects where instead of cloning mammoth's they want to engineer mammoth-like elephants. Asian Elephants can be pretty hairy & mammoth like already. I've read they are actually more closely related to mammoths than they are to African elephants surprisingly. So that sounds like an interesting alternative.

I'd really love to see a movie done in the Jurassic Park style of movies but with animals from the Pleistocene and Eocene eras. It's always about dinosaurs and the Jurassic time. I want to see some Mammoths and Smilodons. Also some giant ground sloths would be awesome. But I guess dinosaurs are what sells and what people are more interested in seeing.
I know that movie 10,000 BC was done but it's not in the same style and that one sucked.

What's up with Jurassic Whatever and their fetish for Raptors?
Not that I am complaining and no matter how incredulous the notion of them working with humans to hunt down another dinosaur (who's supposedly much bigger, much stronger, more intelligent, etc. pp., all of which are things any animal below it in the food chain would stay the hell away from), it could make for an interesting character dynamic for the movie in its own right.
But still, whoever's writing those scripts is borderline obsessed with those.

Because they're Jurassic Parks OCs added to the dinosaur world.

I like them. But they were "scary" the first time. After that it was been there done that. I want the little green ones to take the raptors place. Those things could be freaky when there's a lot of them.

The Utahraptor being marked with "Original character, do not steal" didn't really stop them from taking his image there.
They should just revert to what velociraptors actually looked like. That'd confuse their long time audience.

Clever girl...

"We genetically modified them to up the wow factor.""They're dinosaurs, aren't they wow enough?""For these mouthbreathers? Hell nah."
Heh, definitely, now that you've said it.
And in the next film they'll all be like "Pfft, they're running out of ideas with these modified dinosaurs. The original 150 had far better designs!"
