I am only halfway through the game, so no spoilers here. But overall... the Dalish are kinda the Jews of Thedas. No matter who or what comes to power, the Dalish Elves always lose. I play Dalish now and played Dalish as Warden. I am still kinda pissed though. At the end of DA:O, the ONE thing I asked from King Alistair as favor for my work, was give the Dalish land of their own. And he did ZILCH. The Dalish are now, 10 years afterwards (or so...) still as homeless as ever before. Nothing was given to them, so I must assume the King simply broke his word.
Honestly when I walked through the "Exalted Plains", the former home of the Dalish, it filled me with great satisfaction to see all the dead Shemlen and their ruined cities. All those memorials to their damn Exalted March and their triumphs over the "evil Elves" in ruins. Good.
But as it looks, no matter who or what comes to power, I get the feeling the Elves will always lose. ... I start to consider playing the evil end. Why not leave the world to evil, rather than the damn Chantry Shemlen having their triumph. Again. The deal with Alistair showed me, promises of Shems are worth nada.
Dalish are always going to lose :/

Obviously what happened here is that Alistair offered them tons of land but they refused.

You might wanna finish the game first before coming to this conclusion. There's some very interesting things at the end of this rabbit-hole.

LOL
I think Dalish fit the description of Jews better as they've suffered persecution, been robbed of their land etc...unless you buy the stereotype that Jews are all money-hungry then perhaps the dwarves do fit the description more! XD Joking aside, I have no idea how anyone could compare dwarves to the Jews unless they really buy that false stereotype.
The dwarves from DA are really a carbon copy of LOTR dwarves who lost most of their halls to the dragons. DA dwarves, instead, lost their kingdoms to the darkspawn. Same story, different nemesis.

Are dwarves money-hungry in Thedas though? I know they are very commerce-oriented, but that isn't necessarily the same thing. But I see the Dalish parallel as well, sadly.
Darn you Chantry! Let my people go!

Actually I think you're right and I suppose they have need to be really commerce-oriented what with their kingdoms being few. I think I was confusing them with LOTR dwarves for a moment (who aren't all necessarily greedy).

It's true, and aggravated me too. But then, the Dalish did face too much persecution everytime they settled. Still, I agree, they are too complacent. Too much staying in their victim role.
