i am completely confused as to the what bioware meant by the 40 different endings. was this only epilogue based idea? can the final boss fight be different? what does the 40 different mean? i personally didn't see any influence on the boss fight as to what i did with my companions. the only thing i assumed would make a difference is who drank from the pool and i am guessing that flemeth come to help you or morrigan. but in each case they both transform into a dragon so...is there really a difference?
i didn't drink and morrigan fought the dragon in the dragon form.

I think it is the epilogue or how you got there. I'm not necessarily sure the ending would be any different. No matter what you always kill the big bad.

i found that disappointing since there are no lasting effects on the party. solas always leaves, everyone always stays. ME2 was awesome that way that companion quests and stuff actually affected how the final mission went down. don't think they will ever top that one.
