For me its First Enchanter Vivienne. Im a female human mage and she treats me like her child. WTF?
Does anyone actually like Vivienne?
It would be Blackwall, for me. His concept, twist and eventual redemption I love, but I found him to be rapidly outhshined by the rest of the cast. I actually loved Vivienne and found it almost criminal that she wasn't a love interest.

I'd be surprised. The worst thing is that she talks nonsense and you can;t call her out on it. The scene where she, for some reason, blames you for staying at Haven is just bizarre!
I'd say so far I definitely find Blackwall to be the least interesting companion, although he does look pretty bad ass on the battlefield. Still early though, very possible I just don't know him well enough at this point.
Huge fan of Vivienne. Don't see her ever leaving my party.

Same here. Very much like Samara for me. Keep liking the ones that are out of my league ![]()
Cole and Viv are my least favorite two. Sera kind of grew on me, but I really hate her dalish issues because it means I have to avoid talking to her about elves.
I liked everyone. Some of them can be jerks if your character doesn't agree with them but on the whole they are all interesting, relatable and mostly not insane.
I don't care for Cole or Solas so far (in terms of personal taste - I think they're great characters, but Solas seems so naive about spirits and I don't trust Cole, as I think he's basically a semi-human murder knife embodied). Maybe later when I make more Inquisitors with different views.
I know a lot of people hate Viv, but I love her. I find it amusing the other companions are always getting on her, and she keeps her composure. My favorite was someone (Blackwall, maybe?) asked her whether she missed the comforts of her mansion, and she was all, "Miss? Sure, but I don't *need* them" and going on about how she's not as bloody pampered as everyone acts. This occurred as we were quite successfully mucking around a swamp. I also like her, "Of course, I'm here, this is too important not to get my hands dirty" type attitude.
I allied with free mages and everything, and Viv didn't give me much of a hard time. I just had to recognize the dangers to appease her. That seemed reasonable to me. Free mages *are* dangerous. I wanted to free them and couldn't pretend otherwise.
Blackwall. I could tell he was a fraud way before the reveal, but somehow my inquisitor couldn't see that there was something inconsistent about him and every other Grey Warden we came across. When he asked him why Blackwall's not hearing the Calling, Blackwall just says something like "Corypheus won't get me" as if that's an explanation. My inquisitor should have been able to demand a proper explanation but because the plot demanded that I wait to see exactly what sort of a scumbag he is I couldn't question him properly. And the dude just has no idea about what Wardens are - he has that idealized Alistairized notion that they're brave defenders of the people when really they're just there to end blights by any means necessary.
I'll repost what I said about Sera:
While I would probably be seriously annoyed at anyone in real life who acted like Sera I have to give her voice actress some made props for getting in to that character when you remember it would have all been done in a little recording booth. She really delivered the energy that the script demanded for certain scenes (and that's quite a lot of energy), like her absolute giddiness at the prospect of Vivienne being told about a relationship between her and the femquisitor. She might be ****** crazy but she felt like a real person and for that reason she grew on me.
Vivienne's another character I would despise in real life but it was just such a joy watching her sachet around with her smug superiority that even she grew on me. Plus I think she actually had some perfectly valid points to make about the circle, and is probably the best choice for the divine (I didn't even know she was a choice until I came onto these boards). She's clearly primarily out for herself and increasing her status, though, but still she could make a lot of sense sometimes when she wasn't being totally hilariously condescending.
Oh yeah, Cole. I just wasn't that interested in him to be honest. I chose the questline where he becomes more human. Does anyone know if he's more interesting if you go down the other path?
I hate Vivienne so much it hurts.
Imagine if back during Lincoln's era there was a slave who had a master rich as an Empress and they led an easier life than 99% of free people. Now imagine that slave would constantly go on rants about how the slaves who wanted freedom are a bunch of mass murderers.
Isn't this comparison a bit much? She supports reform, she admits that some circles (like Kirkwall) were awful. She points out the incredibly true fact that most were not and that many were very lenient including her own. She points out the other incredibly true fact that the rebellion had no chance of success and was just gonna get a bunch of mages killed. She's not ranting about mages being murderers she is ranting about what the actions of the rebels made them and all mages look like.
I don't completely agree with her but your comparison is just an attempt at dismissing her views with an inflammatory comparison.

All hell breaks loose if you choose Viv, which I find the most interesting option to continue on with the series. Fortunately, she carries her moniker very well, Madame de Fer indeed! I love Cole and couldn't believe how well he developed in Weekes' hands (sorry, Gaider, I still love you, though). His "spirit" path is very unique, I find, would definitely recommend going that way.
Sera. That character is just annoying. I'll probably kick her out at one point.
I am starting to warm up to Sera. The playing jokes on people part was fun and her banter with Dorian is great. I don't really like Cole but I haven't done much to get to know it. For a game I keep it around because I like having my choice of squad mates but if this was RL I can't see myself allowing it to stay in Skyhold. I don't like Solas either but not really sure why. Vivi hasn't talked to me enough for me to form a opinion I think I made her mad at me without even knowing it.
Dorian. His arrogance and narcissism were really grating and I didn't think he was any bit as funny as people make him out to be. Not only that, but his personal quest was extremely cliché and predictable. I expected much from him when I first saw his concept arts, but the minute I heard Gaider wrote him, I braced myself for massive disappointment.
I'm also not a huge fan of Iron Bull, but he just bored me compared to the annoyance I felt from Dorian.
double post
Sera because I just don't understand her character motivation and honestly feel like she has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and Vivienne because I play a rebel mage all the time. Plus she seems to act like everything she says is gospel when it's clearly more complicated than that.
