For the most part I quite like the companions in DA:I.
Not Sera though, hate her, the racist, hypocritical, cruel, idiot that she is.

I don't hate any of them, but Vivienne sounded a lot better to me on paper than how she played out in the game. I'm still confused what I'm supposed to take away from her character quest.
Can't say I like Sera - nor does my Inquisitor, but he can easily manipulate her, so she stays in line. She behaves like a child and is to some degree treated by him like a child.
I absolutely love Vivienne. Finally, a mage pragmatist. My Inquisitor (being a Dalish mage) happens to agree with 99% of her views on mages, so the rebelling kids were brought to heel by the Inquisition.
So apart from Sera I like pretty much everybody - although Cole is weird (and he seems to bug out on me, so I cannot actually do his personal quest, maybe something will trigger later, so I can actually do it), and I completely cannot figure Solas out. He seems to disagree with pretty much everything I'm doing (especially judgements) - and I just cannot understand his character well enough to outplay him in dialogues. Certainly a mystery.
Man, I always thought Solas was one of the easiest to get approval from. Heck you get lots of approval just asking him questions.
^lol Solas even approves if you ask questions in the middle of the first seige of Cory.
Hated- Sera. She's such an arrogant, hypocritical bigot and a hateful 'friend'.
Vivienne was also fairly disliked; "well I'M happy with my lot 'cause I'm banging a lord lol so all the other mages should stfu and go back to the circles so I can keep my power."
Blackwall was just...boring.
Same with Iron Bull. Also, his horns looked really weird.

He likes it when you ask questions, have thoughtful responses, are nice, and offer occasional humor. So yeah, he's easy to understand.

Which is nice after Isabella. All those reloads... *shudders* But yeah, just don't be an *******, ask questions, and Solas is easy to be friends with.
I think its safe to say the Sera is the most hated BioWare companion?
I thought I'd like, especially since shes a member of Red Jenny. After the cookie scene I thought she'd build more depth and will get to know her more....but no. Maybe I'll have to listen to Sera and Cole banter to get some sort of insight

Actually, her banter with Cole made me hate her even more since she constantly calls him an 'it' and insults him, so don't expect much.
Just rude, yo.
Love me some Vivienne. Dorian is pretty cool as well despite his silly mustache. Wasn't really a fan of the quest involving his father, but other then that I usually have him in my party most of the time. Can't stand Cole. His manner of speech, that stupid hat he wears... its like they found some 13 year twilight fan that just got into fanfiction and told them to write a dark character. Kind of meh on Blackwall as I don't really have a need for him.
Yup, officially hate Sera with a passion, she mocked my Inquisitor after Solas broke up with her.
Sera and Vivienne at least if i cant all them out on there stuff i can turn friendly fire on and and shoot a few immolation's at them
So far I really dislike Sera, everytime she opens her mouth I'm like Cassandra *disgusted sound*
Vivienne I don't really dislike her, but her views about the mages and her ambition to power are annoying most of the time.
Solas. Oh my f***ing God, Solas. I can't stand him anymore. I liked him during Haven, where he was at least interesting, but now he just disagrees with everything I do.
I thought I was going to hate Viv, but she actually talks a lot of sense, and isn't as haughty and condescending as I thought she'd be.
I don't know why everyone hates Sera. I freaking love her.
I'd totally be romancing her if she were into guys.

She certainly seems to be the most polarizing.

It really shouldn't be a mystery. I actually enjoy Sera's character a great deal and bring her on a lot of quests swapping between her and Varric, but even as one who likes Sera in general, she is clearly brash, in-your-face and immensely stubborn. Obviously some people are going to respond very negatively to this, especially considering what can happen depending on your race and what you choose to do in this game, like the dreaded [no pun intended] Solas romance lol. I imagine a person who behaves like Sera would be one that you have to walk a very fine line to stay on their good side, like walking through a minefield of capriciousness.
Tie as far as hate: Sera and Blackwall.
Sera: I appreciate her politics for the most part but I do not forgive cockney. This game tries in too many ways to be Fereldan.
Blackwall is just emo AND dull.
Some others I also dislike but not as intensely are Cole and Varric for similar reasons as with Blackwall although less egregious.
Sera's accent doesn't strike me as cockney. I'm not intimately familiar with all the accents in the UK, but cockney this ain't.
Yup, officially hate Sera with a passion, she mocked my Inquisitor after Solas broke up with her.
Ha... does she really do that? What does she say? I would have kicked her out right then.
I thought that both Sera and Varric were pretty annoying and after a certain point I stopped using them entirely. Everyone else was cool though.

Seriously? And people thought Fenris was a douche...
Is there a video of this? My curiosity's been piqued.
Having just finished my first playthrough I say Solas. I purposely gave him crappy armour and watched him die, so I could get back at him. Hi Self-righteous attitude and constant jabbing about "my people" brought me over the edge. I hate Viv too, but I was happy to get her and not the bald elf. Anyway, the banter with Viv, Bull, Varric and Cassie is a lot of fun. That was my dragon hunting crew thoughout.
Most hated? Yeah definitely Vivienne.
It's weird cause she's super nice to the inquisitor if they're not a mage, but she's such a c**t to the rest of your companions, really shows her true colors >.<
Vivienne every damn time, such an annoying woman. Inconsistent too, one minute we have an argument/disagreement, next she is all "you've done better than I could have ever hoped", dafuq?
Not a fan of Bull either, but I don't have hatred for him, just meh.
Imo - Sera is an inarticulate girl who find it hard to put things into words - and because of that - she was tiring.
... I wanted to give her a chance, talk to her some more, listen ... but then I found out that I'm "too elfy" for her. I got the feeling that she wanted my Dalish to be the something-something of Andraste. That was too much. I never agreed with her in one-on-one conversations.
I liked Vivi. She was fun. Especially when she talked with Bull ("yes, ma'am"). Vivi was scary :3

For me it would be Varric, i never did like him and i don't see what was so great about him that he had to be brought back for Dragon Age 3 game. Everytime i saw him, i wanted to shove that crossbow up his fat ass cause I couldn't stand him. I was very disappointed that they got rid of Oghren in favor of Varric. Oghren was just as capable of telling a story as Varric is. In fact, having a drunken Oghren telling the story of The Champion would have been hilarious. Oghren is very much missed by me. He was a legend in his own mind and utterly hilarious. It's a shame Varric is being carried through to Inquisition instead of Oghren, who I actually cared about more then Varric. I really need some closure on Oghren, he was my favorite companion in Origins and Awakening cause it really stinks that the writers never bother to make any mention of the said character.
But as always, some people on these boards are Oghren haters...
