That's pretty odd of her to think, considering the Hero of Ferelden and the fact that both darkspawn and old gods still exist. When archdemons are not a concern anymore then sure, but no one will be really certain for hundreds of years if not more.

Actually I thought the same way.

There were too many disapproval in 'accepting the wardens' in my party.

It kinda leaves me wanting to (mis)quote mother Giselle "Rouge Magi with magic is no more dangerous then that of Rouge templar with his sword."

Yes the Grey wardens kinda Frapped up bad this time.. but I don't see their intentions or actions being worse then that of any other faction/parties. so..

I really couldn't understand the near universal disapproval of reconciling the wardens..  well that's my view on that anyways.

Sera irritated me a great deal.

I know her naivete is part of her character but her unwillingless to accept certain things even when it's being slapped across her face reminds me of someone close at home.

Incredibly this Bioware game is exceptional in my experience
I love them all
The biggest issue I have is Iron Bull's love for bdsm and demand to dominate the pc. And I still like him as a friend cuz he is a good and fun person and qunari and everything
Usually there's that one companion I just hate as a person. This time there is none

I don't hate any of them, but I definitely enjoy some more than others.

Personally, I feel like Blackwall is a decent character, but he gets overshadowed in a cluster of companions with HUGE personalities.  So, overall, he's my least favorite.

Vivienne and Solas are probably my next least favorites.  They're both fine, and not as engaging as the others.

I LOVE Sera, Dorian, Iron Bull, and Varric. Varric is my bro, and the other three are hilarious.

Cole is in a class on his own.  He isn't on my scale of most favorite or least favorite characters right now because he's just kind of...out there.  He reminds me of that one guy in a group of friends....everyone knows who I mean...the one who is kind of weird, and quiet, and randomly says weird/odd things that makes everyone go, "Why do we hang around this kid?"...but no one will tell him to leave because it would hurt his feelings and he's good entertainment value...

Nope. I love them all, as expected. Sera and Dorian are my favorites.

Least interesting, however, would be Cole.

I loved Vivienne in the beginning, but started to hate her for her views on mages. I really dislike the way she treats my mage inquisitor and my choices, she can prance back to her circle for all I care and go lick some templar boots.

I also really dislike Sera, I seriously am not suprised shes the only companion that has the "Youre not fit for the inquisition" dialogue option present 24/7.

Can we all agree that Sera looks almost exactly like Steve Buscemi?

She's more like a mix of Angelina Jolie in Hackers and Jennifer Lien in Star Trek: Voyager.

And her appearance has nothing to do with me hating her. It's all her personality.

Blackwall so far. He doesn't stand out much and then when I chatted with him he gave me crap for not having a big enough army in a really surly way and this was just after joining up. That and I think he's not telling me the truth. He fidgets when I ask him about the Wardens.

Haven't talked to Viv yet so haven't picked up the hate for her.

Sera reminds me of a lot of absolutely bonkers women I knew in college and that I also was fond of so I have to start finding some use for her.

Loving all these positive threads :P. I expected it to be Blackwall but he's grown on me so I'll say Dorian, didn't enjoy the snark and definitely didn't enjoy all the parallels to being gay in real-life. I feel awful for saying this but his personal quest had me in stitches because of how much it felt like an episode of Maury.

I don't hate any of them :)) I found them all to be interesting in their own way. I like Vivi, her interaction with others, especially Dorian, is so amusing to watch.

Most of the disapproval is with keeping people vulnerable to the enemy's influence around.  Don't forget you are only talking about the Orlesian & Ferelden Grey Wardens.  Weishaupt is still out there with its Wardens and elsewhere.  So you aren't making a judgement of the whole Order.  You are making a judgement of a section of the order that murdered a lot of people and thought summoning demons was okay.   Either they are that messed up in their morals or they are that subject to the influence of your enemy.  Its entirely reasonable to want to have no part of them.

Without going into specifics , it's a great compliment to the writers that all the characters get such a range of reactions -- like a character or loathe them, you're telling the writer that they are real enough in your mind to cause a reaction.

Vivienne is a privileged, bitchy bully but she never veers into parody.  IRL, I'd move suburbs to avoid her, but in game, her reactions and insights are really interesting.  Sera's adorable and a great lightener-upper of what can be a dark situation, but I wouldn't want to share a house with her or let her play with household chemicals.  Blackwall's almost-instant adoration and heroic sense of decency are very chivalric in game, but would be a bit quaint and needy IRL, and so on with all the other characters.  They work well, in their own and in concert.

I actually think it's a totally valid point. It was a podunk little village with nothing but a palisade wall and it looked like most of the troops and refugees were housed in nothing but tents (in the snow in the mountains!). Haven was not a good position to try building/maintaining an army in.

Yes, she does have a point, but what does that have to do with our character?... He/she wasn't the leader. Vivienne was in Exactly the Same position. She moans a out how you stayed in haven... Well so did you ffs! You should be able to call her out on her bs. I was surprised there was no option to.

Sera for me is not hate. In my life I have met people with a nice amount of mental conditions, ranging from OCD to very serious cases of schyzophrenia and she reminds me a lot from them at times. I´m not saying Sera needs lythium (not lyrium), but the way she speaks and how she thinks is an extreme case of non-linear thought process. That is why she is hard to follow often times.

Vivienne is insufereable to me. There is something about "French Ancient Regime" that makes my blood boil and call for Madame Guillotine when I see a personality and behaviour like hers. I hope there´s extra content that humanizes her a bit for once.

Does she or anyone else at Skyhold other than Blackwall even know why wardens are so vital with dealing with darkspawn and the blight?  I don't think it has been mentioned (granted I am probably only half way done, did Hawkes mission but still have Celene's to do) and this wouldn't be the first time the wardens have been kicked out of that part of the world.  I have mentioned this before but the big problem I have seen with da2 and this game is the player knows things our PC shouldn't yet we use that knowledge in our choices we make.  For me if I forget the first 2 games took place and just view DAI alone I see more reasons not to trust the wardens than I do to support them.

Ugh, Vivienne. Can't agree with her politics but she is a lovely lady besides.

On the flip side, I really do like Mother Giselle.

Morrigan knows for sure. Leliana probably knows too.

Cassandra, with he big book of the Inquisition probably knows about the whole archdemon thing.

Varric.  I finally get to build a female dwarf character to run barefoot through all that chest hair and he doesn't even show interest.  Hell hath no fury.  NO FURY.

As many have said, Vivienne. I am curious wether it's possible to have her killed or something, so far I haven't seen any consequences related to approval (and I beat the game)

I think the characters were all really well written. However, I would have to say that Sera grated on me quite a bit but that was possibly because she and my Dalish Inquisitor didn't really get along.

It was the same with me. Maybe I was a bit too into the head of Dalish Inquisitor but she and Sera did not get along till well into the end game. I had a very visceral 'no, you are exactly what I don't need in this game right now' feeling as soon as I met her and while it somewhat ebbed by the end I'm still trying, and failing, to find any love for her. I love the fact that she's so polarizing, it makes for an interesting experience, but if my Inquisitor hadn't been worried about Sera throwing a fit and using the Jennies to enact petty revenge she'd have kicked her out after the first hour.

In my case, I found my inquisitor didn't have much of a use for Solas or Blackwall.  Not for lack of trying, but most of the time he was just bored with them.  I appreciate both characters and their stories, for sure! And maybe in a subsequent play through I'll have an inquisitor that would really enjoy fully exploring the friendships they can provide but current my Maxwell isn't much of a fan.

Personally, I adore Vivienne.  I love her far more than I thought I would.  I have a bit of a thing for strong women though, so Cassandra, Vivienne, and Sera pushed all the right buttons for me.

Cole was really fascinating and I can't wait to spend more time exploring his story and really thinking through it all, but Dorian is hands down my favorite male companion.  Between him, Viv, and Sera, well...it made for an exciting time when the four of us were stuck wandering through swamps and deserts.
