There is a thread about a least favorite so how about a thread for the favorite?

Mine was Solas. I have always enjoyed the more exotic mage companions (Anders in DAII, Wynne in DAO). i find the conversations very cerebral and interesting. plus they are all quiet badass on the battlefield.

So he is my favorite for a romance but as a real favorite I would choose Varric and Bull. Varric because of his stories and what I already done with him in DA2 and Bull because he is so open to everything at long its not going against the Qun

Probably Solas and Dorian so far, but I love them all. Dorian in particular has this amazing friendship with my female mage Lavellan. Solas is adorable, mysterious, and utterly badass.

It's really hard to choose. Dorian, Cassandra, Solas and Sera have grown on me considerably. Notable mention goes to Iron Bull as well. The part where the Inquisitor dresses up like a lowly merc and can speak in grunts to some of the rank and file soldiers was pretty great.

I get the most laughs from Bull but Varric is still my #1.  Dorian and Cassandra are in the running.

Yeah I think I might like Dorian and the Iron Bull the most. Varric, obviously, is always good. Cassandra was good up until I romanced her and then her character just seemed to fall a little flat.

I'm not that keen on Cole but there was one thing about him that I really enjoyed and that is that when Iron Bull falls in combat he cries out "The Iron Bull!" with the article, just like Bull would want. I find that hilarious that in such a desperate situation Cole is still trying to make everyone happy.

I was planning on romancing Cassandra and totally went gay for Dorian when he showed up. Favorite is still Varric, though, the guy has it all, wit, charm, killer voice actor, is a hell of a friend and Bianca.

Blackwall. I was extremely disinterested in him from the moment I first saw him, but his personal quest made me do a 180 on my feelings about him.

Dorian, of course. But Solas, Cass, Cole and Iron bull are great too. Varric is the same loveable Varric, albeit more serious. Sera is...growing on me. Blackwall bores me a bit, but then again, I haven't talked to him much. Vivienne and I just don't see eye to eye at all. The only approval I get from her is accidental.

Followed by Blackwall. My Inquisitor was romancing him...and the events of his personal quest made that very...interesting, to put it lightly.

I was expecting more from Varric since he was my favorite in DA2, but he feels kinda boring and not much of dialogues yet.

Cole is a wonderful person to travel with. He has comments on many things and gives hinsights into quite a few others. I particularly enjoy Cole and The Iron Bull together. I like how their interaction changes over time and builds. But on my second play through I will likely fall for other npcs

Eh, I like 'm all. But with the stipulation that I can only like them when playing a certain role as Inquisitor. My snarky and somewhat ruthless Inquisitor fits very well with Sera, Varric, Iron Bull and Dorian and it just feels right. But on that character, Cassandra, Blackwell, Solas and Vivienne feel too much like polar opposites. While that can be interesting, I don't really find it so in this game. Maybe an exception for Cass, because she tends to be pragmatic instead of 'good' and not focused on her own political/honorbound/magical/mage-centric goals.

 

On my 'friendlier' Inquisitor, I much prefer Cass, Blackwell, Solas and Vivienne. They just give me a better feel while going through the story. Though Varric is obviously never a bad choice, regardless of how you play. But using him constantly on one Inquisitor makes me want to try different characters on this one.

This is actually the first Dragon Age game where I liked all the characters.  I think they're all great for different reasons.

 

But if I had to choose my favorite would be Cassandra. She's too awesome. I really liked her romance arc despite the bugs.
