This list is everything I've come up with in my first week playing MP on PC.
[Bugs]
- Quite often, broken urn rebuild themselves and become "immune" to targeting. It seems to affect players that are not hosting the most. AOE spells or melee on the urns will break them again so you can finally get the gold
- When reviving someone, sometime you lose the "hold-down" right click status. You're already in a hairy situation when a teammate is down, having the camera/controls mess with you because you revived someone isn't great at all
- The controls on the "death cam" aren't the same as when you're alive. When my character dies, I have a hard time going around in "fade mode" because of this. Please can we get the same controls everywhere, some consistency would be nice.
- The collision between characters makes them act weird, like they're shaking or something. What I can say is this doesn't feel natural at all
- The controls are somewhat less snappy than in ME3. It's kind of a big deal since the enemies have a much better AI and cover is much harder. I really have no idea how to fix it though
[What could be improved]
- It's impossible to play without holding down right-click, why not remove the requirement to manually hold it? Would it make sense to always hold "G" or you die? I guess not so why is it required to hold right-click?
- Party banter is way to frequent, toning it down a notch would be wonderful
- Party banter can become repetitive, some character say the same line over and over again in the same match
- When 2 players play with the same character, they comment on the same thing at the same time. It's really funny, but it's not immersive
- A "push-to-talk" option is really required. A lot of people are playing on their laptops with a microphone that picks up everything in the room. Some people also lack etiquette as they eat, fart, drink, etc., so instead of making the good players pay the bill, just give us the push-to-talk option
- The "distance to use" could be a bit bigger. It's annoying as hell when you try to revive someone and you're literally 2 millimeter too short on distance. Same with urns, treasure chests, doors, etc. It needs at least a 25% increase
- Faster crawling when down would be nice. The enemies aren't like in ME3, they move pretty fast to the next target and you can't really kite them the same way. You often die and wipe because we either can't move fast enough or we don't have enough time to raise the downed teammate
- I don't understand why the 3 deaths limit. I'd say remove the limit, it's already hard to clear a map and revive teammates, no need to make it frustrating too
- Since mage equipment is under represented in weapons and upgrades (50% less), salvaging should give twice the materials to get on par with the other classes
- In the skill trees, the 2 "branch title" should be fixed at the top like tabs in a browser to allow easy toggle
- In the skill trees, each branch should be navigable with the mouse wheel, right now it's freaking annoying and clunky
- The reward for completing an operation is pretty bad considering the effort required to clear the 5th area. I think it should give a guaranteed item, something like a normal item with a low chance of rare on Routine, a rare item with a low chance of unique (5%) on Threatening and a rare item with a big chance (20%) of unique on Perilous. Currently, there's no reason to go for Perilous except for the challenge as you get gold and items faster on Threatening because it takes less time to complete
- It should be possible to create a lobby with the map option set to "random". By that I mean like in ME3, the "random" option was loading a random map when you started the game. Having to manually change it every time is annoying
- It should be possible to search a lobby with the map option set to "random" (see previous point). The current "random" option should be replaced with "Any" as you're searching for any map, nothing in particular. The new "random" option would search specifically for a lobby with the map set to "random"
- Casting AOE spells should be faster to set up. ME3 controls were pretty snappy, you pressed a key and the ability fired. In DA MP, AOE spells are pretty slow to set up and you're sitting duck making you an easy target while doing it. What I suggest is to replace the whole targeting mechanic and just point at the enemy/ally you want to affect and make it the center of the AOE, no setting up, just instant targeting. This is needed as you made the enemy faster and the player controls slower, it's not snappy at all and a bad choice considering the action going on
- We need more information on the characters like numbers. I haven't fired up single player yet so I have no idea what Strength or Willpower do. People assume the same SP mechanics apply to MP but we all know it wasn't the case for ME3... So what each attribute do in MP? What is my current critical chance? What is my current critical damage bonus? How much HP and mana my character has? (especially important to know when you have items with +10% mana or +30 health) There are so many questions, no answers anywhere... please do something about this
- I have nothing against the RNG store, but have you ever seen a lottery where the nature of the prize is unknown? When I buy a lottery ticket, I know I have a chance at winning a lot of money. When I buy a RNG chest, I have no idea if the items I got are any good. Can we get more information about what are the best items so we can compare what we have and decide if it's good or should be salvaged
[Suggestions]
- When launching the game, there's a "click to continue" prompt before showing the menu, why? You could argue it's to avoid people to connect to the DA servers if they quit immediately, but they can't do that anyway without going into the menu... The only purpose I see is to force you to sit down and wait in vain while the game launch. I'm not asking for removing the logos or the "movie intro", I'm asking to remove the "click to continue" prompt and skip directly to the menu where we really want to go.
- Forcing the trinity (warrior, rogue, mage) on players isn't really great. I get the reason behind it, but in reality it's perfectly possible to clear a map with all 4 characters being the same. The only thing that the trinity does is penalizing the rewards for the players, not a great design. Please, keep the doors as is but let any character take them down
- We really need more maps. I get that each map we have is randomized and it's a nice feature, but it's still the same setting. Over time it gets boring to always play the same setting, just as it was boring to play Reactor 4 times in a row in ME3. 3 maps ain't enough to avoid the feeling of repeating the same map over and over again
- The "Deluxe" chest you get from the deluxe edition of the game wasn't enough. I personally didn't order the deluxe edition, but it cracked me up when I saw they only got a random large chest. For 10$, you really need to say in advance what the chest will be. I'm not asking for specific items, but something like a guaranteed purple and 3 rares. In any case, I feel sorry for those that pre-ordered the deluxe edition and got only 1 chest, you could have given them 5 for that price
- Items' level is worth nothing on MP, you should remove it or at least not display it to avoid confusion
- I miss the uniqueness of ME3 enemies. In DA:I MP, all you have to worry about is if the enemy is melee or range. There's no personality, they all seem to move the same and behave like clones synced telepathically. It's a far cry from ME3 where every enemies had their own reactions, their own strengths and weaknesses
I hope this feedback helps in your efforts to make this game even better.
