Yeah doesn't seem to show up on my war table for some reason. Looked through all the options there but nothing.  

 

Well for starters as Garakke and Zarpen said you need to talk to that dwarf woman named Rat who is at the same spot Sutherland is in Skyhold who would give you a WAR TABLE mission. The WAR TABLE MISSION (like the other Sutherland missions will have their picture in it) I believe is located on the "FERELDEN side" in order to 'locate the whereabouts of them'. Once the WAR TABLE mission is located you have to physically got to the specific location where they were last seen (Storm Coast i think?). I know it should be on the quest list and/or will be marked in that specific zone as a diamond like how quests usually are. When you are near you'll come across Sutherland himself, his mage guy and other members and your inq will go "I think someone is in trouble" or something. Kill the venetori and Sutherland will appreciate the help and say he'll see you back at Skyhold. After the mission is over he'll give thanks and another operation.

 

As far as the whole 'DOOM UPON THE WORLD' thing that kind of sounds plausible but I was able to still do some quests when I finished though. However I do admit I haven't kept an eye on what got locked up or not. Honestly I try to complete important WAR TABLE missions before anything big unless it's an unimportant WAR TABLE mission like Collect minerals or something.

Same problem. I've finished the whole of the main quest, talked to Rat in the tavern, but when I went to the war table, the operation isn't there. I hate bugs like this. D:)

Same issue for me.  I have completed What Pride Had Wrought, but not The Final Piece.  I spoke to Rat in the tavern but he war table mission isn't showing up.

 

According to the Wiki this bug can occur if What Pride Had Wrought has be done, but I don't want to lose hours and hours of playtime to save my guys.

 

Hate bugs like this that give me the sads.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this bug or no? Because it's really annoying. I am far too far in the game to go all the way before the point I would have to to be able to trigger this quest...

I think it depends on whether you are supportive and encourage him and his little group to be independant. I always chose Leliana's suggestions and it went right up to saving him and his band at Storm Coast.

I outfitted them with heavy armor like Cullen suggested. But the actual missions they go on afterwards, I've chosen Leliana. Its worked out well so far.

 

 

This is my absolute favorite set of war table missions and I am sad anyone seems to have missed out on them cus of a glitch. I am glad you figured out how to work around it, OP.

Well, I was messing around my postgame save until I found I didn't do the later Sutherland missions.


Well, it turns out you can do all the Sutherland mission chain postgame until where you're supposed to get the Sutherland missing wartable mission from Rat. A quick look at the wiki reveals they tied the start of this mission to starting What Pride Has Wrought.

It actually make no sense mission order wise to tie this mission to What Pride Had Wrought because I didn't even start the damn chain until postgame. It's not like I didn't save them when they didn't even go on their stupid expedition. And now I'm about 30 hours from that quest from content and DLC's and no way am I gonna reload just for this.

Look at the age of this thread.... This is an old old bug but 10 patches later it's still there.

I tried to play this post game and got exactly the same problem. I went back and never accepted the war table report so Rat doesn't turn up in my tavern, looking at me plaintively

I talked to Rat in the tavern, I got the quest to find him via forces/Cullen.. then it had no other quest information on what to do next.....but never could find the mission to actually save him. . I read that if you go back to the storm coast before this mission to save him, it will no longer be available. I don't recall going back to the storm coast, but I may have since hours and hours of play, I do not remember everything (especially after a few play-thru's, they get mixed up in my head on who did what). Is there any way to edit a save game to make this quest available again?

After the war table mission to find them you have to go straight to the Storm Coast, you go any where else and they die. 

 

I don't think there is a way to edit the save but if you do find one please let me know because the Qunari one isn't triggering again.

Didn't see Rat until after finishing Doom Upon the World.  I'd been up looking for Sutherland beforehand too, I guess the speech bubble names don't always show.  Just finishing off what's left before hitting Attend the Exalted Council.  If the quest isn't going to be offered, why is Rat in the tavern telling me about it ?  Disappointing.
