Yeah, qunari lack severely on the gear department
Like, I'm not even sure if Qunari do, or if it's just the glitch everyone seems to be experiencing.

Some of the discussion we've had in this thread seems to be leading to a mixture of both a bug present in the game and general lack of diversity.
Thread: http://forum.bioware...nari-armor-bug/
The bug manifests itself right at the beginning when you try to purchase any of the three Inquisitor armor sets at Haven's merchant, where it renders no preview for your Qunari character but when actually equipped, incorrectly shows your Qunari in their undergarments. Some have suggested those armor sets probaby were meant to be restricted to only Humans, Elves and Dwarves, but there are so many more other armor sets later in the game that have the same bug.
There are screenshots within the second linked thread which indeed show Qunari Inquisitors able to wear plate armor and such, but some of these are screenshots taken from pre-release material and not from the final game by users - which confuses matters further.
Then you've got the Tier 2 and up armors that look exactly the same as the Tier 1 stuff at the beginning of the game (Defender Mail, Defender Coat). There's barely any unique 'looks' beyond some end-game armor one user on these forums shared and confirmed via screenshot: http://forum.bioware...3#entry17884447
Another found some Level 20+ endgame variations through Prowler Armor, and also some 'plate' looking armor that's simply the starting scale look with some metal pauldrons and kneeguards: http://www.reddit.co...7/qunari_armor/
So Qunari do get some different 'looks' eventually, but in the end-game. That sucks.
Where are the Qunari unique armor sets? Why couldn't BioWare make the effort and shape the universal armor sets to their body types like with the other three races?
Add your voice to the main threads to hopefully can confirmation from BioWare on the matter re: bugs, at least.

So the only armor our Qunari Inquisitor can wear, is the trailer armor? Ugh. I didn't even like that armor. D:
The restrictions exist because they couldn't spare the resources to create an armour model for the qunari.
It really shouldn't have taken that long. If they fixed things for the romance scenes, then they should have been able to have a team work on these too. Very disappointing.
its because this game is an unfinished rush job. As almost every aspect of the game lacks in some fundamental way.
Next time, don't buy a bioware game.

Yes, because 4 years is a rush job.
To Bioware NPCs are so much more important than the player. So long as the npcs are stylish, who cares about the player character. Lets give him the generic crap.
This is not just a qunari problem. Its an armor problem in general. 50 hrs in and I am wearing stuff I found at 20 hrs. From what I have read their are rare schematics but they drop randomly and rarely. Just came over from another thread about dragons dropping gear ten levels below them.
There's also a lack of diversity in armors generally. I've been wearing the same stuff for my mage inquisitor for a while now and it's starting to annoy me. Why can't bioware take armors seriously? Aren't they RPG gamers as well, does this not bother them while playing? If they don't want to deal with making a lot of diverse armors, just make the game moddable at least.

The sad part is they said all the armor we see, we could wear.

Here's another sad part of it: even if you find some interesting looking armor or weapon, you probably will not use it because of bad stats\low item lvl...for example a few days ago I've found a cool looking Qunari Greatsword called Bassrath-Kata:
It was rare 2H with crappy stats(bought it for ~580 gold coins), so I gave it to Iron Bull not for long...since then I haven't find schematics of it or even something similar even with bad stats.
Game needs more Customization Freedom, like in GW2, Diablo 3, WoW...I want to be able to wear every armor\weapon I see in this game with good stats or even transfer stats(enchantment at least) from Epic Armor to the the Armor I want to wear, to dye each main armor parts(cloth, leather, steel) with colors I want without worrying about improper stats, I want to expirement with armor pices\weapons to find some good looking combinations.
Game lacks armor diversity so why make it even worse by making schematics so rare? It reduces diversity even more.

I don't have a problem with the weapons, so much as I do for the armor considering it's supposed to help boost our stats, seeing as we can't change anything during level up and therefore rely on said armor.
Continuing Qunari topic, Iron Bull has some very interesting issues with heavy armours. So far, only Vanguard Mail resembles any kind of "heavy" on him. Everything else has his whole torso bare.
Well there's also the Orlesian Armor that seems to work on him. I spent 3 grand on that schematic and haven't even used it. I just wanted to see if it worked on my main. It didn't.
All the characters' have a particular silhouette that kind of identifies them. The Iron Bull nearly always has the leather harness and the asymmetrical pauldron, different armors sometimes add a layer to the outfit, even tattoos around his bare bits, but the concept stays the same.
As far as Qunari in general, your armor options are dildos. Most of the good stuff is Human, Dwarf or Elf and the really cool 'identity sets' (Grey Warden, Templar Commander) are Human only.
The facepaint for Qunari (Vitaar) was a neat idea except in over 100 hours of gameplay, I've found maybe 6 of them, and the highest being level 16 (I'm 23). Also I'm bitter as hell that the ONLY OTHER Qunari in the game gets a helmet so really it's just you, the player, that can't wear them.
Lastly, and this could very well just be RNGesus bending me over, but the last decent 1h weapon I found was the damn "Sweetish Fingers" at level ~4. I had to kill 2 billion dragons (9 dragons) to find another one. Meanwhile, literally half of those dragons dropped daggers.
I agree that Qunari armor is in fact quite limited in comparison to the alternate races. It's so nonsencial to circumsribe armor to certain race classes and Qunari exclusivity be limited to "face paint". Really? lol. Having said that, my anger is somewhat assuaged by the silverite that can be used to remove restriction in armor crafting.

That doesn't even seem to be battlemaster armor, honestly.
It is. I have added arm and leg accouterments to the original piece. It's the best I've seen so far aesthetically imho.

I've tried this set pieces recently and I don't like it...bottom looks too thin because of very wide shoulders...btw this shoulder looks much better(not so wide\big) on Human\Elf.
This shoulder look better with t3(?) trench coat...and still even Trench coat with this shoulders looks bad on Female Qunari, not so womanly\elegant, all pieces are too bulky...doesn't even look like a mage outfit at all.

I'd rather the armor I was able to get Sten to wear in Origins. At least then he could wear sweet gear and look cool doing it.
Its not just qunarie, I've started of with one, a qunarie female warrior about 50 hours in and I've only sen two armor styles, some chain mail and chain mail coat, both look more like light or medium armor, all schematics and drops that I can wear look like that with no variation what so ever.
So then I made a elf female mage.. a whole and behold the same crap happens, there's a short skirt coat and a long coat, with all schematics and drops everything looks the same. even 60 hours in and lvl20 ,all gear looks the same! While companions and npc's get all the cool looking stuff. These is out right retarded on behalf of the developers be it either intentional or a bug.
