It's the most pointless thing ever. Its not even tied at all to your actual single player character in any way. What I mean by that is that you can't even buy a weapon you unlock with gold for use in single player or something. Anything like that at all wouldn't have made it completely pointless. I just don't get what the point of it is.

The odd thing is that I feel like they made these combat controls purely for the multiplayer and it feels like that's why the singleplayer combat sucks so badly.

Just Bad development bioware. Just plain bad.

You're lucky you got into it at all. All I can do in multiplayer is join a quick match where I can't do anything, or host a game and wait forever in an empty lobby, until the game disconnects me.

Dragon age multiplayer is dysfunctional.

The only problem i had with the multiplayer is the fact that half of my skill slots are preserved for potions so i can only use 4 skills. Just weird...

And its also quite repepetive very quickly.
still, i burned more than a few hours on it with my friend and we were glad it was there regardless...

Combat doesnt suck, just needs some fixes like the ai and tactics part..

I would recommend ignoring OP he is one of those contrarian sorts who complains infinitely and refuses to react to logic, that said.

1: Everyone complained that it effected things in ME3 so they made it stand alone,

2: Gameplay is still better then the snore fest that was Origins Combat, and if you go down it's because of a failing of skill not some bogus Ogre tackle that hits you no mater how far you moved out of the way,

3: People like you are why it's so hard for gamers to get their complaints taken seriously,

You thought dragon age origins combat was a snore-fest? Ugh, I hate these console scrubs so much.

What's to be taken seriously? This multiplayer was a complete waste of development time. It's boring and pointless and the combat "holding down R key" is meaningless.

DA:O was like an FF game boring stats based combat between the real meat of the game namely the story/characters, Some may enjoy it, but they don't make up the numbers needed to sell a game this ambitious, to put it simply, you want that go play a 5 hour long indy game, that doesn't need to move 5-10 million copies to make back what was spent on it,

People said the same thing about ME3's Multi player, but it still has a strong player base, for me all the tactical camera represents is an annoying extra tutorial, but i know others like it so i don't whine about it making me and my fellows look bad, so i shrug it off and move on,

Lol...Origins was nothing like FF. Can we just say nonsense? Is that what we're doing now?

This guy is clearly trying very hard to troll. I say just ignore him. He's lost his mind if he thinks inquisition is better than origins. I'm sure he thinks theres nothing wrong with inquisitions controls or tactical cam either. Forget him. A 12 year old troll.

I am not saying their gameplay is identical, i am saying both have boring combat as filler between the parts that contain their mass appeal, IE their story and characters, too few people play FF7 for it's combat to make it marketable without it's story and characters, DA:O would be lumped in with 2nd tier games like Two Worlds if not for it's incredible story and Cast, Mass Effect is the same horrible gameplay saved by amazing writing, but The sequels changed that making combat funner and more engaging, DA needs to do the same (And it has been doing so though at a painfully slow pace) or it won't be worth the kind of money it takes to make the games,

Probably the same people who continue to play ME3's? it didn't hurt any thing and this time it has 0 Single player impact,

Damn this forum is full of PC elitist pricks.

Just because someone makes a statement you disagree with they're immediatly a console scrub. Wells heres an assumption for you; you must be a 30yr old virgin living in his moms basement, hopelessly addicted to pretending to be something better than you are and unable to face the you're a loser.

Zero single player impact.  Zero.  Well, except for the control scheme.  And the limits placed on ability slots.

Zero.

Origins combat is very slow, doesn't make it a bad game tho.

Isn't it more accurate to accuse a console player of being a 30 year old virgin living in his mom's basement?  Yeah, it is. ;)

To be clear i know it's subjective opinion, the difference is my subjective opinion is shared by a much larger audiance, so it's the one that will be more likely to be served in the future, In the end the games will either shrink or become full on action RPGs hopefully in the vein of Dragon's Dogma(Because if that game had BioWare writing the story and characters even Skyrim would be classed as a second rate game by comparison,)

The fact that it has zero effect on single player is something I am grateful for. The silver lining on a grey cloud of lost development budget.

Really ? Nice try.

People buy console's specifically for the convenience! To avoid dealing with building a rig or even just setting up the OS to their liking.

Not to mention all the MMORPG'S that ONLY exist on PC platform and are specifically known for sucking people in and draining their lifes.

Finally by the way you tout how much better you are than everyone else it's apparent you all have a very low self esteem.

Is it?  How much more did Origins sell than DA2?  Why did they slow combat back down from DA2 levels again in DA:I?  Must be because of your opinion being shared by a much larger audience, yeah that is it.

Uhh what?  Where did I mention consoles.  We were talking about multiplayer, no?  Maybe you should look in there mirror when talking about self esteem.... You are good enough, you are smart enough, and doggone-it, people like you.

Edit: Oh I get it.  You replied to the wrong post.  You are the douche talking about PC elitist pricks.  Haha.

Combat had its own share of problems and honestly I found it worse than DAO..  I liked that it was smoother and the controls were better than DAI.. but on a whole  it was inferior
