snore fest that was Origins Comba
Wait what? Are you serious?
DA:O is a game in which a well placed spell can end a fight within seconds.

Combat had its own share of problems and honestly I found it worse than DAO.. I liked that it was smoother and the controls were better than DAI.. but on a whole it was inferior
Again it's subjective but even Angry Joe praised it as a massive improvement if i recall correctly, It's biggest problem was that it didn't properly market it's story as a crhonical of one persons life, so everyone just assumed it would be a cookie cutter replica of Origins, kind of like what happened to FF8 when the american fan base found out that the games are anthologies rather then a direct sequel series, back then 8 was considered utter garbage, but now is seen as an equel and interesting member of the franchise, I assume that one day this will happen to DA2 as well, though the reused environments will always remain an easy target to denounce it,
and that's why a lot of people unsubbed from angry joe. He either didn't play origins on pc or he sold out or simply doesn't understand the franchise. This is the same guy that gave saints row 4 a good score right? Lmao, yeah ok. No thanks. Dude sold out a while ago from anything remotely close to honesty.

You ever played a two hander? stare at screen and occasionally use an ability with a slightly different animation to your basic attacks, Mages were sweet to play, everyone else got the shaft hard,

I'd say 2 hander was the only one that was a fail. Yeah, mages were OP but I had satisfying playthroughs with rogues and sword and shielders.

LOL, No Joe remains a popular and unbiased reviewer, He takes games to task when they deserve it, and gives credit where it is due,
Also, even freaking Yahtzee praised SR3rd, Because they judged it based on what it is, a sand box full of insane things to do,

everyone is biased. Everyone has preferences and Joe is no exception. Some of his reviews I do agree with, others I do not. That does not make his opinion anymore valid than anyone elses
Either way, this game in its current state is an atrocious mess on pc and I can't even play it until they patch it. That's how bad it is in my opinion.

So because two-handed warriors were boring to you, all of DA:Origins combat was a snore-fest. yet mages were sweet to play. Did you try playing a rogue? They were quite "sweet to play" too.
So if Origins had slightly sped up two-handed swings, it sounds like it would have been "the bomb" eh?

As a DAO fan I knew reviewers couldn't be trusted because their job is to review it based on mass appeal, not on whether it's a proper tactical CRPG. And yeah, it has mass appeal. It's fun, once you get over the fact that it isn't really what you were hoping for as a DAO fan or a PC user.
I also predict Yahtzee will not love this because of the grindy open world parts but will admit that it's fun in general.
It's the most pointless thing ever. Its not even tied at all to your actual single player character in any way. I just don't get what the point of it is.
The odd thing is that I feel like they made these combat controls purely for the multiplayer and it feels like that's why the singleplayer combat sucks so badly.
Just Bad development bioware. Just plain bad.
It is quite funny, multilayer seems to have received more balancing efforts than the actual main game.
And I can tell you what the point of it is. Cashshop. In a PvE multiplayer minigame in AAA 60$ game.
I'd probably be outraged if I wasn't genuinely amused by the sheer gall and audacity of it. Thanks EA.
I would recommend ignoring OP he is one of those contrarian sorts who complains infinitely and refuses to react to logic, that said.
1: Everyone complained that it effected things in ME3 so they made it stand alone,
2: Gameplay is still better then the snore fest that was Origins Combat, and if you go down it's because of a failing of skill not some bogus Ogre tackle that hits you no mater how far you moved out of the way,
3: People like you are why it's so hard for gamers to get their complaints taken seriously,
This post made me physically cringe. I'm not really going to bother to address your points, but I just want to say that's it's because of people like you why the next game will Dragon Age: Shadows of Dumat, where gameplay will consist of pressing X to watch awesome things explode in between cut scenes.

That sounds cool, cos I'm finding the "R" and "V" keys are becoming a little stale. A change to the "X" key would be welcome and also remove the last complexity I have of using two keys.
I strongly suspect multi-player exists ONLY because Electronic Arts has mandated that all game must have a multi-player component.
Probably because MMOs are popular so EA Marketing assumes this will increase game sales.

However, from a business point of view, I think ea made the right call to include the MP. Think about all the extra people that would buy DAI because of MP and all the extra money ea would make due to the MP in-game microtransaction.
All they had to do to not make entirely pointless was maybe give us the ability to get a few weapons and then if we wanted to use those weapons that we get in multiplayer (or something, ANYTHING..) we could pay like 1000 gold or something to be able to use it in the single player.
I mean.... anything like that. Anything that would give it some meaning and wouldn't have made it entirely pointless. Right now its just the same exact thing on 3 maps and its not even remotely difficult. It just seems like a complete waste of development time. It's not fun, its not anything. It's just a level you speed-run through for gold to buy items with, but what's the point? You can't use anything you get in single player just on these speed-run levels.
I just don't understand how its supposed to be fun or what exactly the point of it is?
Better run up stairs mommy's got your dinner little boy.
Ohh but you want to sit on your little computer and ****** about video games. Fuckin losers.
hehe i play on pc because my girl friend isnt excited to watch me playing on the tv. nobody with a healthy relationship plays 60+hours video games on a television
