I was really hoping you learned your mistake with Dragon Age 2.

I was so excited to hear that the tactical combat camera was coming back for PC, but what a mess.

I just can't understand how a company could make the best game I have ever played (DA:O) with such a promising future and butcher it so badly.

I'll chalk this up to EA ruining another great development studio, forcing them to cater to the console market and pass on ever spending money on another Bioware game.

Uninstalling Inquisition and re-installing Origins, that's how much I hate this game.

Imagine, if Bioware had balls, they will sever the connection with EA and try crowd-funding. How many of you would pledge if Bioware, as a fully independent studio, promised they finally can make a game they have always wanted, and admit that the EA experiment was a disaster. Damn, I know I would.

But no. Their wallets are safe and fat now. No uncertainty that crowd-funding implies.

Peace.

Eh, I would fund a BioWare project, sure, but with ME2 and ME3 as two of my top ten games of all time and DAI on its way to appearing at least around a top fifteen as well... I argue the "experiment" isn't a failure.

Mind you, Origins is in there too. And DA2 isn't. They've messed up before. I don't believe this is one of those times, not for me. I'm genuinely sorry the PC version sounds like it's currently a mess, and yes, I have a really nasty bug on the PS4, too, but the core game, minus one big quibble, is really good.

The people who made DAO what it was left shortly after DAO was released because the word came down that things were never going to be the same. And they never will be.

Hoping Pillars of Eternity rocks and it looks like it will. Also I would recommend the new XCom games for tactical combat (and fortress building :P). DA is moving toward AssCreed style gameplay. C'est la vie.

Seconded!

I'm 20 hours in and I cannot get enough of this game. I am absolutely in love. I do have the occasional bug on ps4, but nothing game-breaking thus far *knock on wood*.

Try it on console folks, if you have the means that is.

I'm coming back to the forums after my first 60 hours in the game and I'm really surprised there are some people who truly did not seem to take to the experience. I'm on PC and I've had a few model glitches (Varric kept dropping one leg through the ground at Haven, heh!) but beyond that, I've just had the time of my life immersing myself in the game.

Do you have a particular gripe or problem though? I didn't really catch that from your original post, Dowdash.

I just checked PoE out - looks interesting. I note the quote from the dev (via Wiki).:

..... ruled out a possible console port of the game, "Those [console] limitations affect RPG mechanics and content more than players may realize (especially for players who've never played a PC RPG and realize what's been lost over the years), and often doesn't add to the RPG experience."

I think the issue, for most who have complaints, is that if you wanted/were expecting a more true RPG experience, this isn't it. If you were just wanting a new game that looks fun, then it probably fits the bill. But for me, the PC controls and experience were poor enough for me to return the game. And it still doesn't come close to DA:O, imo...

I hate console scrubs.

I hate entitled, whining, elitist, "The whole world revolves around me and what I like", clueless members of the "PC Master Race", so I guess we're even. Only, I guess I have future Bioware games to look forward and you don't, and never will, so there's that...

Yeah Scrutinizer...i agree with you...They all only want the one and only cash cow...Just feed the Mainstream because the Mainstream is where Money can be generated. I loved and still love Dragon Age Origins...one of the best games I've ever played. After buying DA2 i was realy pissed of this affront to all the Gamers that loved DA:O...but i wanted to give Bioware the last Chance with DA:I...and i realy trusted all the promises of a REAL PC port...installing and playing that game the first time was really disillusioning...the controls were not optimzed for pc Gamers (with Keyboard and mouse). The menus are...creepy...this is not how a pc game should look like...and this strange fight System with the so called tactical combat is a joke...

I'm Feeling punked by bioware and ea...and both lost my last confidence...I will definetely never buy a Bioware EA production anymore.

Just one last tip to Bioware...dismiss the ea contracts and try to get the next game financed by crowd-funding and try to keep your promises next time.

Damn Casualization...

DAI is the first DA game I actually enjoy, as opposed as being a borefest with some entertaining bits.

Chris Robers, of  WIng Commander and Freelancer, broke away from Mainstream Publishers,

It's called Star Citizen, it has Crowd funded soley, nearly Sixty-Three (63) Million Dollars, and it is NOT OUT YET.

IF     IF   Bioware could break free, apologize, for da2, me3, and the rest, I would open my wallet to them like I have with Chris Robers ($4,000.00, and counting).

The developers could quit and start their own company, but the problem here is that the people who made origins are long gone by now. It's not the same people I don't think, and whoever is saying its EA's fault isn't completely correct. They give the devs the freedom to develop their own game and these designs suck. It's nobody's fault but the devs.

What do you mean by true RPG experience? I really don't mean to be obtuse or disrespectful but I played the hell out of my Inquisitor's role so far and the game is pretty much 100% grade-A D&D fantasy archetype goodness. I get that it's not like an original, pen-and-paper RPG (by which I mean it's played on devices and is necessarily more on a single track due to technical and budget limitation) but this certainly feels like it fits neatly in with the other video game RPGs I've played in my life.

I get that it just wasn't fun for some people - to each their own - but I don't really get the complaints that the game is just out-right garbage. I think the mechanics are pretty fun but what made me love the game (again, haven't finished to the end even) is the personal investment the characters I got to know made me feel.

I share the same opinion, OP. I am moving on as well. I paid full price for this mediocre game. No more. For me any further Bioware product that might interest me will be picked in the bargain bin.

DA2 strike one.

ME3 strike two.

DAI strike three.

I am done.

Matter of fact, I am kinda on my way to quit modern gaming altogether. Probably after TW3.

I play bioware game on consoles and I'm'dumbfoubded by those poor design decisions.

Now if people playing on PC and Console remembered that those are only tools that we own and not a defining factor or our personnalities (since many of us own both anyway) perhaps our combined voices would carry more weight and our feedback would be taken more seriously.

Everytime a guy from Bioware stumbles upon a post like that or the one you're answering to, his conclusions can only be that we're a bunch of entitled brat not worth listening to.

That's unfortunately our collective loss.

It is true that EA views most gamers, especially console gamers of being of one mind liking only one product.
