Okay so I wanted to make a thread to consolidate all the bugs found withing the game, so Bioware can look into and help improve the game. The game is awesome. I would strongly give it a 9.5 minus .5 for the minor bugs that I have come across in the game.

So you experience a bug or hiccup during your playthrough; you can list it here. This is what I ask when you list your bug or problem.

What Platform it is on.

Where in the game or maybe an explanation of the issue you experienced.

PS4

My bug that I have accountered is some audio issues. Some times the chat or the action sounds( your character in fights) would just go mute. Ambient and music is still heard. This seems very random in different locations. Possible solution that I found was to pause the game and unpause the game to hear all the sounds again.

Some cutscenes freeze or lag a great length to proceed through the story. Only a few but nothing gamebreaking. Waiting for scene to trigger works and by pressing the skip cutscene to move conversation forward.

Okay one of the bugs that I found was completely annoying was during one of my Dragon boss fights. I will list the picture of the dragon. The boss becomes a problem when the dragonlings enter the picture. It is halfway through his bar that triggers his screams to call for help. For me the game comes to an utter crawl with lag so bad that is makes the fight frustrating as hell. I think the amount of dragonlings and everything that Dragon is doing is by spitting fireballs and jumping around and flapping his wings and everything that your team is doing is straining the hardware. Not sure. But I had to repeat that boss several times just to beat the boss in lagslowmotion.

Here is the Dragon in question.

DragonAgebug_zps9dc6cc9c.jpg.

Wasn't sure if there was a bug or glitch thread but I think having one spot for Bioware to read through would help their team on fixing issues of the game.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day :)

Bugs that me and my girlfriend found:

System: Xbox 360

Dialogue skipping bug - When talking to party members or NPC's at haven and party members or NPC's are talking the dialogue skips and becomes garbled.

Mini freezes - When walking or running or jumping through the game the game will freeze for a few seconds and then resume. This happens multiple times.

Party Banter - It doesn't activate half the time.

Long loading screen times - This happens both in Single Player and Multi-Player. The loading screen times take a long time or completely freeze forcing us to restart the console system.

Audio issues - General audio problems when walking around. Sound effects cut out but ambient music still plays. Same with party banter when it actually works.

Cutscenes lag or freeze

Dialogue wheel - Sometimes it fails to work. Dialogue wheel pops up while in party character speaks to inquisitor. Unable to respond to in party character.

Graphics/Texture load - Textures and graphics load too slowly. They do the old Mass Effect 1 texture popping in.

No install for 2nd disc - When we first inserted the first disc there was no regular install option from the xbox dashboard or the game details. When we launched the game it prompted us to install the first disc. Then it asked for the second disc. The second disc has no install feature which makes the disc spin in the disc drive. This can damage the disc for the game. It also causes the xbox to run hot and harder than it should have. The feature of the disc install is to not only extend the life of the game but the life of the console. This we believe is a major bug.

Character Conversations - Not sure if bug or not and have posted in other threads. Unable to see character faces after initial recruiting scene and initial conversation at Haven. All conversations are viewed from the side and not in the up close personal that has been a hallmark of Bioware in the past games. All three Mass Effect games and both Dragon Age 1 and 2. This detracts from the overall experience we believe. My girlfriend and I enjoyed being able to see up close and personal the main character we created and the person they are talking to.

Combat - When playing there has been a problem with attacking enemies. Our characters will attack using the attack button but then they stop all of a sudden. This causes us to have to press the attack button repeatedly to get them started attacking again. Eventually they will auto attack once more as long as the attack button is held down like before.

None of these are game breaking but they detract from the overall game itself. It is our hope that by posting these bugs in this singular bug forum that they can be collected and tested and a patch or several small patches can fix these issues.

Thank you to FreshRevenge for starting up this thread.

Another bug that we posted in another thread that we forgot to add:

Female inquisitor walk in cutscenes - The female inquisitor walk in cutscenes looks like the walk of FemShep from Mass Effect 2 and three as well as the walk of Female Hawke from Dragon Age 2. When not in cutscenes their walk and gait are more natural and reflect the female walk of most women. However in the cut scenes it seems that the female inquisitors walk like a man or a very butch woman who walks like she has male genitalia between her legs.

We hope this helps.

We have found another two bugs.

Xbox 360

Talk Bubble - When attempting to talk to NPC's or Party Members in Haven, when pressing the A button to talk it only works half the time. The player must force the inquisitor to walk away from the NPC's or Party Member and then back and then try again and do this as often as necessary to get the dialogue wheel to come up.

We have come across another bug last night. My girlfriend was in Redcliffe and went to speak to Connor. The moment her inquisitor spoke to Connor the dialogue wheel froze. She could move the right thumb stick around to see around the inquisitor and Connor but could not select any dialogue wheel responses. She came up with a work around quite by accident by pressing the left bumper to bring up the wheel with healing potions this allowed her to click down on the right thumb stick to select answers and get out of the dialogue quickly. She then quit the game and restarted it from her last save point. I watched this and we both had a good laugh. The wheel functioned fine after a quit and restart.

Another bug that we have found is Varric when speaking to him seems to partially fall through the ground then rights himself and does this repeatedly.

Also another bug is when fighting a High Dragon the FPS slows down considerably when the dragonlings spawn and then trying to get away so that the controlled character isn't overwheled. It slows down and then the main character along with the rest of the party dies.

Another problem we've noticed is that when the weapons for combat are out the entire party moves much slower and cannot run to combat or run away from combat quickly. This seems to be counter intuitive from Dragon Age 1 and 2 where the characters moved quickly no matter if the weapons were sheathed or unsheathed.

PC:

Trying to find info on an issue I'm having with Knight Enchanter spec. Resurgence doesn't heal over time, even when upgraded, on multiple different character profiles, or with either my Inquisitor or Viv. I get one flat heal/revive and then health immediately begins to whittle away.

Then there's an issue with Disruption Field. For some reason, I keep getting this very odd graphical glitch that I think occurs when Dorian uses his Walking Bomb ability in the field. At any rate, I get these odd, ethereal-looking spinning daggers with various elemental auras that appear in mid-air and make audible whirling noises. They last until the game is reloaded.

No enemies spawning around fade Rift farm (The one next to Astrarium).

Also ran into a small glitch where the skull (dead) symbol was stuck on my inquisitor when he was still alive.

Last night and today this bug was found by my girlfriend playing her mage qunari. She is trying to romance Dorian and she is at Skyhold. She uses the flirt option and gets the reponse from Dorian "What can I say?" and then the game stops. The conversation wheel does not return, Dorian does not continue speaking and the Mage Qunari doesn't speak either. Last night we just shut the console down to let it cool down thinking it was a overheating issue due to the game constantly spinning the disc in the disc drive because we are unable to install the second disc for game play purposes. Just started it up about 5 minutes ago to try again and the same thing happens.

This is a game breaking bug right here being unable to continue a conversation past a certain point. First one we've found.

This is a major issue for me & apparently many others also. The conversation bug has to be fixed. In fact, it should be first to be fixed because it's that experience ruining. On Xbox one I have hade my dialogue tree screw up or fail to show my character talking no less than 6 times so far(Im early in the game, I imagine it will only get worse from there). Anyways, the two that forced me to have this problem over 6 times was first the chancellor freezing up on me forcing me to restart my Xbox & the second encounter which has NEVER failed to activate was one specific conversation piece you have with Cassandra during her first dialogue in haven. It's really annoying and I still have never heard what my character says in the piece of dialogue.

Random Skills during combat:

I thought it was my controller (using a DS3 emulating an XBox controller) that was at fault, random skills were caste during combat, but then I realized that they were used even when I had no stamina or when they were on cooldown, sometimes I would cast two twin fangs almost one after the other, so that can't be the controller.

Here's a video showing the bug, as you can see smashing the skill button will sometimes activate it even when on CD or without stamina. I was using the Knightslayer at the moment, and I triple checked if it had a special skill activation effect that could cause this, but it has none.

Minor spoilers for Sudelin Keep follow (just a segment of a combat, no dialogue or anything)

Sometimes skills are used out of combat when using search while walking, or it will change the controlled character, but that could be the controller's fault.

During party banter between Varric and Cassandra, Varric will refer to Hawke as "him", even though Hawke is a woman.

@ FreshRevenge :   I'm getting the same frame rate drop on Xbox One.  For me it was all of the Dragons in du Lion.  First dragon wasn't horrible, the 2nd dragon took me an hour to finish from when his health was half or lower, and the ravager I can't even finish.  Frames increase somewhat if I let 2 party members die, but as soon as I rez them both it's horrendous, standstill even.  In all honesty the fps is so bad it really isn't playable, I just gave up after 1/4 health because I don't want to spend another hour finishing him off.

I dont know if this is a bug, but the home button on the 360 version doesnt pause the game during cutscenes. Sometimes I get called away, other times I would like to examine the dialogue for other purposes, so it would be nice if the home button could pause/freeze the game at all times.

Also the text, such as in codexes and mission reports, is far too blurry for me to read, this is especially jarring as I never had a problem reading anything in Dragon Age 1 or 2.

When Varric introduces my male inquisitor to Hawke, I am given the option to use the stock Hawke or rebuild one like I had in DA2. If I choose to customize Hawke, my inquisitor's voice changes. I had chosen the deeper voice for him, but once I leave that edit sequence, he sounds like the higher voice.

This is annoying, because I want to customize Hawke to look like my hawk, but I don't want to suddenly have a new voice for my inquisitor. I was also a bit disappointed that Hawke's appearance couldn't translate through the Keep upload, but I understand it.

*I should note this is on PS4.

Even though I can carry four grenades, the game will bring it down to three every time I transition to a new area. Losing a grenade like this is quite annoying.

  • The wolf went on to kill my whole party as the cut scene went on, prompting a "your journey ends"
  • Also had some problems with party banter but I am seeing more and more on that subject, though it is quiet unfortunate when I deliberately take certain companions on certain missions to see what they have to say about things only to be greeted with dead silence..
  • During one of the judgement scenes, The Inquisitor, Josephine, and a certain goat remained in a static model position as it hit a wall. Very funny.
  • Initiated companion conversations sometimes lag to the point of needing to be reset. Very upsetting when I am bawling over a certain cutscene after a certain quest and the game just freezes all together.
  • Voice changed after meeting Varric's friend in Skyhold.

  • Also no one seems to want to be involved with my inquisitor. What is up with that?

That Hawke bug sounds disconcerting... I'd love to design my Hawke, but I'm hoping it doesn't mess with my Inqs voice.

Anyways, here's what I've encounterd on the X1:

- Talking to someone while jumping can causing you to be stuck floating during and after the convo even when moving.

- Occassionally LB button wheel menu won't work, as in it'll show up and not do anything. I think either reloading a save or traveling to another camp fixed it.

- I've been reading a ton about this Dorian Personal Quest bug here, but haven't gotten that far: http://forum.bioware...nt-start/page-2

- There's also this War Table glitch for a quest called "present for bianca" which is somehow tied to a weird Spy Perk (Eagle Eye), http://answers.ea.co...ht/false/page/2

- Finally, I know on the Mage Side quest in Redcliffe where you're looking for Red Lyrium Shards that the shards may possibly NOT appear or drop or they drop through the zone or behind a wall or any other number of odd issues thus locking you out of the quest completion. I didn't have this issue, but I had read a lot about it before completing.

On the 360 there's this annoying thing where a faded dialogue box-thing will appear, but you can't pick any options, and it's only a one-time dialogue, so you can't redo it. For instance, when I met Connor in the future (I think it was Connor; I can't exactly tell since I wasn't able to talk to him), Cassandra after the cutscene where Felix handed me the note from Dorian, that weird lady in Redcliffe who keeps talking to me for some reason, etc.

Bugs encountered: Dialogue bugs. Early in the game when talking to Cassandra in probably the first real conversation we have at Haven, it bugs out. Also, I can't even do the quest where I investigate the Wardens in the Western Approach because Stroud's dialogue freezes in the exact same place each time, and i cannot skip it,

Essentially, the game freezes and this quest, which is one of the main ones, is one I simply cannot complete until the bug is patched.

Actually, you can click the right joystick and it lets you choose the dialogue options. For example, in Val Royeauex when talking to the scout before going in to see the Clerics and the Templars, you can see a dialogue option over the scouts head and by pushing 'A' on her, also lets you do it.

It gives us the agency to continue the dialogue if we choose.

Although, the game could do a little bit better job on explaining it.

Voice syncing sometimes does not work. Sometimes a character speaks in a cut scene but the voice and lips do not match. Or the Inquisitor whistles for the horse before or way after they put their hand to their lips.

When the game starts up and goes to the press start button screen. We press start on the controller and the game then goes into the Main menu of the game where you can select to load, continue, start new game and so on. We get this continuous pop-up saying "Error chat has been disabled due to Family Settings". We've checked our settings and there is nothing in there on the 360 for chat being disabled or enabled. This is a bug that has been present since we first installed the game on the 360. It is a major annoyance.

PS3: The character record is locked, and I'm unable to level up. I made it to the Hinterlands and apparently made it to level 4 before calling it quits. A bug like this is poison for an RPG.
