GUARD BUG

 

My warriors suddenly stopped generating GUARD. Possibly some form of corruption.  It started when I reloaded a saved game. Getting back to the main screen and selecting CONTINUE failed to resolve the problem.

 

Finally I exited the game and restarted it. Problem solved, for me

On PS4...

 

In the Way of the Assassin quest to unlock the assassin specialization, I can't pick up the "writings on assassin methods". It highlights, but when I press "x", I talk to Cole. There is no other option. I also can't purchase the book from the merchant in Val Royeaux

 

Others across platforms have reported having trouble finding the assassin guild leader tokens, as well, especially if they had already cleared Crestwood before unlocking the specialization quest.

On PC

Bugs driving me crazy:
When casting:
PC will move before casting even though the spell doesn't require line of sight or even a minimum distance.
PC will teleport/glitch from one spot to another when casting. Usually a spot in the recent past of movement.

Dragons:
They are kite-able. They should not be kite-able. :D

I (PC user) just terminated all saves at level 19 ~ 30+ some hours because of so many errors:  Some were trivial set up errors from errors in import history and some may have been corrupt saves that may have also introduced an error carried forward.  Clearly the import function needs work - I recommend a manual setup of the keep.  However, the number of NPC's missing from quests was beginning to get VERY bothersome and some boss creatures throwing up barriers continually before you can do any real damage indicates some foundation error may be at the root.

 

There seems to be a problem in how the system interprets quest complete with the missing NPCs in particular.  For instance someone in your quest is arrested for crimes before you finish that quest - you can't report back and another open ended quest.

 

The first 2 dragons did not seem to be a problem other than taking WAY too long, but it gets worse. "Call me ?imachel?" is an example:  his barriers go up before you can even get a nibble on that last 10% of his health.  Maybe if the NPC fighting strategy worked correctly that would not be an issue and maybe a co-op human team could pull it off ...

 

Not sure how this fits, but it is a bug in NPC team member behavior that causes them to run into you and cause you to fall out of bounds or get killed.  They need to be toned down a lot at rest- take a chill pill, so to speak.  

In battle the NPC team members are not using their skills properly.  Varric does not keep his range, Cassandra does not roll to avoid damage reliably, both die at the drop of a hat.  I even tried copying Blackwall's specs and she still dies too often - Cassandra's behavior code is not working correctly.

All of them get backed into a corner too easily for a demon to just make jello of them. 

They seem only aware of the first potion and never seem to use the others.

 

The tactics activation often behaves at random and is very bothersome -it needs it own key to toggle it on or off.  NO mouse triggers related to shooting or repositioning!

Spending ~10+ minutes casting lightning at a dragon (did I mention underpowered) from range should not ever trigger the tactics, but it does so anyway and constantly distorts the viewing angle. I was thinking of writing a macro to cast the spells as this was so boring!

 

A note on underpowered for multiplayer IDK, but single player a level 1 mace 166 damage and level 3 staff or bow only 20 to 40 -clearly not balanced. The one handed sword is also slow to level.

After having gotten far enough to be able to make the choice between templars or mages, but still before having approached either party or made the choice, I encountered a red lyrium templar group in The Hinterlands. Upon dispatching them, Cassandra promptly spoiled that Corypheus was the big bad with a line of dialogue. I encountered the group in the area of the far most south eastern fade rift.

 

Spoiled the big bad for me :(

I saw a man about a horse at the Redcliffe Farms, did his wife and Bronn(?)'s quests, but Bronn's doesn't complete. I go to talk to him, and the only dialog option is to start it all over again. Broken quest means no horse for me! What's worse is I went to talk to the daughter for the second horse race, and the horse has vanished. I was pretty sure I took it back, but I have been all over that farm, and no horse. Anyone else have this problem?

my PS4 issue :

 

- Audio sync

- freeze 1-2 sec walking in haven 

- enemy being stuck when almost killed (no loot)

- freeze cutscene chat

 

please fix it and

please respawn all dragon after post game.

Can't complete the Dalish quest (win their trust) on the Exalted Plains...  as the last 2 fade demons at the elven burial site can't be targeted and remain non hostile

There is a bug in the "ground" system that affects object activation:  DAI appears to use a variable "density" mesh that works well for visual effects like walking in snow or water, but it interferes with picking up or activation of items.

 

The "fix" that causes loot to rebound to the player has some issues with several quests where cutscenes move your character and you can not recover the loot.  At higher levels this loot is valuable!

 

Capture a keep before you locate it and the location marker becomes blocked. An open ended quest results.

 

Poor timing of quest material may not be a bug but is a source of confusion Red lyrium in particular can't get to much of it until other quests hours away trigger a door.

 

Location maps: too often the map causes more confusion than not as goals that are not on your level show up.  Many of the caves and dungeons have no maps.  New item locations should fade in as you approach them on the proper level.  The majority of maps need work.

That sure "feels or behaves" like internet lag on PC, but lacking that is something in the code optimization or video interface - its like its looking for something or compiling a long list.

I'm playing on PC.

 

I have encountered some of the bugs mentioned in this thread (such as the dialogue bug and the bugged 'the trouble with darkspawn' quest where you can't find Servis), but the bugs that REALLY bother me are Dorian and Blackwall's personal quests not triggering...

 

In case it's relevant, I'm over 100 hours into the game and only JUST finished 'Here Lies the Abyss'.  I've mostly been farting around doing side quests because I'm easily distracted =P but my sister recently tried to hurry me along so that she would have someone to discuss spoilers with, so I was attempting to wrap up the remaining personal quests of my companions before delving into the Orlesian civil war plot-line.

 

So far I've completed all companion quests EXCEPT for Dorian's, Blackwall's, and Vivianne's because they have not triggered.  I'm not so concerned about Vivianne's not triggering because my sister told me she didn't get her's till later, but apparently Dorian and Blackwall's should have triggered by now.

 

I know it's not an issue of approval, as most of my decisions (Mage and Warden allies) have netted a lot of approval from these two characters.  I believe Dorian's personal quest is already a known issue (something to do with Mother Giselle not giving the quest away in the Great Hall) but I haven't heard anything about Blackwall's quest not triggering... evidently it should be as easy as talking to him, but I talk to all of my companions every time I go back to the keep just to ensure I haven't missed anything, and I've exhausted all conversation options with Blackwall and the quest still has not triggered... However, I'm not sure that should matter, as I've never talked to Solas or Sera about their being elves, and their personal quests still triggered fine...

 

Just wondering if anyone else has been having this issue... particularly where Blackwall is concerned, as I've only heard about Dorian and Iron Bull being bugged so far...

Saw that also - loading a previous save after a restart seemed to fix it on the second go.  Still, we should not have to jump through hoops to get a quest to work properly!  Had a similar error in the next area -could not find the last LVL 16 demon at one of the rifts so it could not be closed - restart fixed it.

Glitch with the Bards in taverns. Either they play the lute but do not sing or they will sing but not play their lute to go along with the song. Sometimes they will play the lute along with singing but it's rare that it happens together.

Blackwall's is tricky but eventually works -maybe he will just appear when he is MIA.  I spent 10 minutes looking for him thinking the location marker was wrong and then he just appeared in the courtyard -no where near the marker- odd!  Never got Dorian to work properly and Vivian's quest nor marker ever showed up in the journal - some sort of quest activation errors.  Dorian's counter seemed stuck at 2 for killing loads of venatori.  As I got closer to 19 the accumulation of errors made it unreasonable to play any further.

The "Hold position" does not seem to work most of the time if at all.  There are times where you can avoid mobs and pick off targets 1 by 1 if the team doesn't screw it up. I have even gone alone a few times to save on the potions they would otherwise waste.

 

What good is having a team that will not follow directions?  I think this error tracks back to the RPG development effort.

Or the opposite the character will say something alerting you to "something"  after you have completed it -as if they slept through it.

My companions arent using their skills at all (beside Solas, who cast hir barrier on us, thats the only skill from my companions i have seen so far).  If i want their skill i need to go into the Tactic mode, which i dont always use. They always on Auto-Attack.  

And yes i have check if they were selected in the menu, and all was okay, even tried 'Favorite'. Nothing work.  It sux cause i'm 9hour in and i really love this game... but combat sux because of this.

 

 

 

edit ; wtf. i was saying to myself ; lets just try to replace the skill with different buttons (since we cannot remove them) and now they all using their skills....   thats why difficult mode was so hard damn -_-

Crafting Bug?  the new "Dragon" items could not be ingame modified rendering them largely useless.  There seems to be a bug in using mods on higher tier 3 weapons some will not take mods and some will not take mods of a lower tier -inconsistent!  Say you are forced to recycle mods because they are costly to build and have poor resale.  A crafted item more powerful than unique items has no comparative value considering how much material they use.

 

The tier 3 archmage staff mods are largely useless - they have armor features and not power features

 

Also forcing most Dragon weapons and armor to only for player usage is nonsense. Obviously some leftover from DA2.

Stores do not keep pace with the player level or seem to ever have unique items or the items they are supposed to have like training books -none of them!  Since you are drawn back to early areas with new quests it would be very convenient to have the store inventory at your level.

Relating to that is loot: at level 19 why was I picking up level 6 items?????  conversely why pick up items 3 or 4 above your level with no way to store them???  There is an obvious loot level error here!

There is another odd bug when fighting at extreme range the teammates run in circles toward the target and then pop back to the player -just distracting behavior, no game breaker.

Not sure if this was posted but I figure that I post about it since I just came across it.

 

I have a female elf with the American voice actress. I just got to the scene where you would meet up with Hawke for the first time. My voice was replaced with  the British accent or actress during the whole cutscene talking between Varric and Hawke at the Battlement.

I also noticed that Varric seems more effective when with Sera when it comes to using his skill set, grenades and poison in particular - monkey see, monkey do -not a clue why that might happen.

Not sure if this was posted but I figure that I post about it since I just came across it.

Party banter and music almost absent, sometimes the audio will just mute when starting a fight. No combat chat whatsoever.

 

Dialogue wheel acting up, not appearing when talking to villagers. This started happening after entering Redcliffe.

 

Once during a fight the L1 menu didn't show the cursor, making it impossible for me to use potions.

 

War Table glitch for the Present For BIanca quest.

 

Villa Maurel glitch: I can't assemble the key to open the door, because the Energize option doesn't show up.

 

This is it so far. I'm 25 hours in, just finished Dorian's and Solas' personal quests, and I still have to start Hawke's.
