Spoke to Cullen about becoming a templar, and decided to put it off for the time being until I check out other options. Now, I can't talk to him about it again, and can't get the quest.
Also can't get the one from Blackwall either.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Not for templar, Champion, etc. Only Tempest, Artificer, and Assasin are from the war table. Otherwise you need to ask Cullen for Templar and I assume Blackwall for Champion.
They all start from the war table. After you do the mission all three trainers will show up, you then speak to them and choose which quest to follow.

I don't get it.. Do you play Warrior or Rogue?
It's like Toren says, you get the mission on the board to request specialists which will bring your three trainers into Skyhold. You then talk to the one you want, do the quest and get the book from nearby the respective follower (Cassandra for Templar), return to your trainer, and then go on your merry way with your new specialization.
I could only bring in three trainers, and none of them are templar trainers. Since there are no other related missions, can someone who has gotten the templar spec tell me how they actually acquired it, step by step?
I am a warrior, btw.
Looks like all the trainers are for rogue specializations.....wtf.
sounds like you have the wrong specialization trainers bug. the game thinks you are a rogue and instead of the warrior trainers, you got the rogue trainers. it seems to be a common bug.
not sure how to fix it without starting over.
