Nudity in the romance scene.

 

No, it's not a complaint, calm down.

 

I just didn't really expect it with the PC police and a big name publisher...who generally are against potentially offending anyone.

why would nudity offend someone? from what I've seen in games boobs and ass are usually okay but it gets questionable when you see genitals.

There were people and news agencies that freaked out over a little side blewb in the Liara "sex" scene in Mass Effect.  And that certainly wasn't the only time.

The fox news thing only lead to Mass Effect getting more attention, so I don't think Bioware is afraid of their games being controversial. Sex sells, and so does controversy.

I just got the "romance scene" with Bull, and found quite the opposite: there was less there than in the DA2 romance scenes. The Bull just had the Herald up against the wall (both fully clothed) and it cuts to black. When it cuts back in, Bull is already dressed and out of there.

Is there a more extensive scene later on? Does the extent of the scene depend on the romance? Is it just not properly animated for a male Herald with Bull, but only a female Herald? Did my game glitch?

There are multiple romance scenes for each character. Some end with the characters unclothed, some are just fade to black.

This "fade to black" thing is really weird in this game sometimes. I was able to do some simple activity with romanced Dorian- play chess (or whatever that is) and after choosing that option there was no cutscene with them playing together. Just  "aggressive", fast cut to black. I had a feeling that something was bugged and the cutscene couldn't load.

Is it normal?

i am sorry, i don't watch mainstream news for this particular reason. i get my news from more credible sources.

Americans are easily offended by nudity for some reason. In their culture watching someone get their entrails ripped out of their stomach by a bear and eaten alive is less traumatizing than seeing a half naked ankle. 

And if they see a nipple? National crisis.

It really is one of the greatest mysteries of mankind how something as beautiful and natural as nudity and sex is considered taboo in the US while violence is "totally fine".

Take note: I have nothing against the U.S., but this negative cultural view they have on sex and nudity is really illogical.

Actually it's a very tiny percentage of Americans offended by nudity.

 

The problem is, they are exceptionally loud, and the media loves to give them attention.  I won't say more, because it would involve politics...and that way leads to closed threads.
