Has ANYONE done a playthrough without Keiran appearing? Does Morrigan always have a kid? How does the whole scene with Flemeth play without him and the Old God soul?

In my worlstate Morrigan didn't do the Dark Ritual so no kid showed up in DAI. Just Morrigan on her own. So there's no Old God Soul for Flemeth to take either.

I hope so. Love all the old characters but DA4 should start something new, would be totally fine if not one single known character shows up in it.

Less small world syndrome? Yes please.

So, what. Flemeth just stoped by to say "Sup, ho, I'm Mythal. Now f*** off." haha, I prefer the OGB version, in that case

I haven't seen the OGB version yet so I can't really compare, but playing as a Dalish elf who drank from the well it worked fine.

It's very touching. Really humanizes Morrigan

Does the old god soul get removed even if you drink from the well?

I can definitely understand why Bioware had Flemeth take it--they sort of wrote themselves into a corner. This lets them remove a hanging plot thread in a not completely stupid way, though I'm still not entirely sure what Flemeth did exactly to Urthemiel's soul--did she release it into the afterlife?

I'm just disappointed that I'm never going to see Kieran turn into a high dragon-god.

Also, Claudia Black really earned her paycheck in that scene. The voice acting when she was begging Flemeth not to hurt her soon nearly drove me to tears.

Spoiler

I'm not sure Fen'Harel absorbed anything. I think it was the other way around. Or maybe both - maybe they combined into something more.

I'm just glad he actually sounded like a child, instead of an adult doing a really bad impression of a child (I'm looking at you, DA2.)

I'm of the opposite opinion. He sounds nothing like a child to me. It's hilariously bad.

I'm the opposite of this, it's hard to have an emotional connection to a franchise if each game has a new protagonist and completely new characters, especially if none of then return. Bioware games are all about the characters and the world for me, because the major stories are usually pretty bad, but the characters are developed and likable enough for me to keep coming back.

They can do all that in a expansion after all Orlais and Ferlden are connected with the rest either by sea or by land.

I... really? I'm curious to know exactly what you think a child is supposed to sound like.

So apparently all the Wardens who did the US died for nothing. LOL

Apparently the DR overpowered Solas in the end,the elf knowing as the god of failure,so it  seem that the sacrifice path (Loghain,Alistair) even with the HoF was useful, the Warden is not even present anymore,so where is the problem?

The things he says are creepy.

"because people are afraid the next age will come too soon"

"Your blood is  old"

Well - the Kieran Cousland of my playthrough is a normal child between Morrigan and my Warden without the DR.

Screw the magical freakshows.

I don't do the DR because I have huge issues using children as currency/experiments.

This was a major cop-out way to get rid of OGB, but I'm glad it's at least done with. Clearly Bware regretted the amount of choice they gave us with DAO, even that that's why the game was so amazing in the first place. DAI did a lot of backtracking. I'm annoyed on one hand that they let us wonder for years what would be the result of our decisions just to essentially say, "Nevermind," but also relieved that they've finally given up the ghost, however inelegantly.

Personally, it seems to me as though the OP is taking shots at Kieran's voice actor who is, you know, a child and not a professionally trained voiceover actor.

The only downside to this I feel, is that DA:I pretty much chopped off any foreshadowing we had with the Old God Baby. I know a lot of people including myself though that Morrigan's child would eventually become a major plot point in a future Dragon Age game, either as a villain, or something else. But not anymore it seems. Flemeth took the Old God's soul. So that's pretty much the end of that story.

Has ANYONE done a playthrough without Keiran appearing? Does Morrigan always have a kid? How does the whole scene with Flemeth play without him and the Old God soul?

I found one on youtube in which Morrigan has no child, but not one where she and the Warden had a son but did NOT perform the Dark Ritual.

I'm kicking myself now for not having a worldstate with that option, because unless the after-credit scene is noticeably different on playthroughs where Keiran did not host the soul of an old god, than the the fact that they used the same lighting effect during the epilogue scene is being leaned on way to much.

Well, Bioware made it very clear that the Dark Ritual was not and never would be canon, so it couldn't have become a major plot point.  There are to many ways that it would never have happened, popular a choice though it may be.
