Guys, this is almost year 2015. The hair on characters in Inquisition look like they are from 2000's. I hope you are also concerned about it and working for solutions. Here's something to think about:

Have you tried making a male with a proper beard and mustache? Now *that* is terrible (at least Human male, dunno bout Elf, Dwarf or Qunari).
The positioning of the mustache is completely off IMO, and looks more like a fake plastic stick-on that you'd use for a bad Halloween costume or costume party or such. There is no thickness or 'body' to it, it's like a thin line of beard/mustache texture that is just *urrrg*
The short & long stubble are fine, but the other options.... blerch.
btw, did you mean HAIR or Facial Hair? As Facial Hair to me = mustache's & beards... not hair on your head.
Your title says facial hairstyles but you show hairstyles that are on to of the head and not the face.
I thought Dragon Age II had better hairstyles, in DA II they also added all the hairstyles from the first game along with new ones but Inquisition has no old hairstyles and have less long hair too.
Mass Effect had lame hairstyles and Inquisition has seemed to be going on the path of Mass Effect with the low amount of good hairstyles in the game.
Must be men who know nothing about hair, there should be more and better ones for females.
I hope they add new hairstyles to the game and let us edit because this is quite disappointing.
Also i would like to say they didn't try hard enough with the Qunari hairstyles either, i saw some fan art that had nicer hair.

Great examples, agree with you. But as a lot of modders figured out, the entire engine choice has been a mistake.
At all it seems like BW wasn't able to control it 100%. Still after release + patches, NPC's hyping through the screen to interact with objects 100meters away, while Multiplayer system got much to few attention by building the game. ME3 Multiplayer has been more fun and less anger for me. And to be honest: Hairmeshes in Bioware games have always been muddy and beneath expectation. While in DA-Universe Fans always could have added hairstyles much easier, than in ME-Universe. But in the end there were new styles in nearly both games, so there's still hope for DA:I..
As there are still meshes for this, it's just a question of time, until the meshes can be edited too... well let's hope so.
Btw: Sadly The CC in EVE only is an (meanwhile fee-free) Online-Char-Editor atm, nothing more, while the CC in Black Desert is foretold to be in the end the best feature in the game, so let's wait for its release, Archeage has been hyped also, while crash landing in western world like hell finally, so after a long history of disappointments in asia games, I became carefully...
Yup, title is misleading.
It looks like, to me, mesh models are molded like hard plastic in order to avoid having actual physics animations and weight to the object. Sorry if I'm not very clear but it's hard to explain when not a 3D designer.
In comparison to other RPGs the characters in DAI look like they're meant to be in a first-person shooter or year 2000 MMO. At least now I know I can log into EVE if I want to have fun in the character creator.
Well I might have become a bit rusty in this, but I think I still am at knowledge about 3D-Art and Design & I can follow your thoughts in this, but the big question is, why should they intend to do hard plastic hairstyles, if they would have had a chance to do hair-physic evolution inside die Dragonage/Mass Effect franchise?
Guess there could have been 'a )' too less time to do so or 'b )' too less money to do it properly, because the frostbite engine seems to support it, at least for some styles..
As said, I don't know why they chose it at all, but there would have been a lot of engines which could have been a large lift-up for the dragon age feeling while not sacrificing the modability-connection. Well then nevermind... in Farcry 4 u have to climb the Himalaya and in Dragon Age 3 modders have to overmaster another digital Himalaya to get a proper mod working without getting any frostbites ![]()
I thought this was about facial hair?
I was just about to complain how there is no goatee beard anymore.
