I recently finished the game on my qunari mage and am deciding to go back through again as DW dwarf rogue. One of the more annoying issues at the moment however, is opening fights. It seems the only real way to do this to avoid my rogue getting mauled is to manually run Cassandra (Or whoever I end up using as my tank) and then switching to my rogue. If I run in, aggro everything and then stealth I still run into the problem of aggro defaulting to me whenever I pop back out.

Any good way of handling this, without having to switch constantly between myself and Cassandra?

Please don't just say to switch to archer, I'm interested in the dual wield rogue and am only playing on hard, so it's not the end of the world to not be perfect.

Really simple answer, and one I've been crusading for a while. Party Commands mate. Use attack my target and everyone will run in, then you can wait till your tank has them, and stab away my friend. Good luck!

Oh, of course. That's the way I've been doing it. I was just hoping there was a more elegant solution, but I probably just got lazy from being able to blend everything into a fine paste by opening with pull of the abyss on my mage. I'm also worried about future fights that you're just plopped into because of story reasons.

Well another solution you might try, set you tank to "Defend:Controlled Character" this will prioritize them to taunting and attacking threats to you as the rogue. May help a little bit.

Upgraded Flank attack --> You enter Stealth --> Shadow Strike --> reduced cooldown --> enter stealth manually --> run to your tank/your tank has aggroed the enemies

I usually start with sera shooting someone with her sleep/snipe nuke then I go into stealth on my main tell my warrior to taunt someone and usually have my mage barrier.  Then I just run behind whoever I can pick off.
