I haven't completed the game yet but I did storm ardent, and I found myself wandering about the wardens of Ferelden, as in, where are they? Unless I am giving them too much credit, I think if the Amaranthine wardens had been there, the fight would have turned out differently.
So heres my theory:
Morrigan told me that my mage warden had gone to find a way to stop the calling, and I think he brought his wardens, the ones he himself recruited, with him. As for the others, they probably joined up with the Orleasian wardens. which would explain the lack of Nathaniel, Velanna, Oghren and Sigrun's Appearance at Ardent.
Anyone else have a different theory? because until Bioware say different, this is my belief on the matter.
