Schematics perk. Do they Scale? Or do you periodically receive new ones upon completing Main Quests?

Read something in a reddit thread saying the Schematics (mage, warrior or rogue) perk is excellent because you receive stronger schematics as you progress in the story over time.

Hasn't been confirmed. Can anyone here confirm if we do receive new ones (or do they simple scale upon purchase)?

With so limited inquisition perks and no reset option for it, I want to make sure :)

I find that doing dungeons and killing dragons offer the better schematics than what you get from a perk. There is a vendor in the Hissing Wastes that offers some of the better schematics; however, I found most of those schematics without purchasing them.

They do indeed give better schematics. You receive superb version of tier 2 class specific schematics that will last you until very late game.

The hissing wastes vendor is very far into the level 19 region, I encountered him when I was already level 21 and those recipe's aren't cheap, you probably won't be able to afford them sub level 15 even if you manage to get there before.

Get that perk, this will probably be my first 2-3 perks in new game, the superb tier 2 version is roughly equal to or even better then normal tier 3 schematics.

Killing dragons.... yeah thats gonna take a while.... :I just curious, what was your level when you first killed a dragon? :0

Really?? Hmm.. Perhaps I should get one now... I'm level 12 so hopefully the next tier of schematics comes when i'm level 15... :P

You are not given new schematics as you level up I can confirm that but I am not sure if the recipe's you get are scaled by your level. I receive tier 2 superb recipes when I took warrior schematics perk.

Also I first killed my dragon at level 12 and that was before I unlocked Focus abilities, it was Fereldan Frostback in hinterlands and possibly the most trouble I had, now I have killed all 10 dragons and they come easy but my inquisitor is level 23 :)

Also inquisition perks aren't limited, my inquisition level is 15 and I am half way through to level 16. Mind you I haven't completed main story yet but completed almost every region, collected all shards, killed all dragons, unlocked all astriums etc.

Also dragon's don't give recipes, atleast not reliable ones, they do give Tier 4 crafting materials (the highest and only possible way) and purple weapons and armor.

No new schematics? Crap... :|

Still, If those superb tier 2 schematics can last till late in the game, then its a good investment nonetheless. :) Thanks for the tip.

Basically. It just gives you four or so recipes that are stronger versions of existing schematics. Which is pretty annoying in hindsight, because I was hoping it would net my Qunari Warrior some decent looking craftable armor.

So i can take them as early as possible and craft the **** out of them? Or if i take that perk at higher levels i will get different (better ones) recipes?

Yes for the first question, and no for the latter.

About killing dragons (possible very minor spoiler).

After you kill your first dragon you have the choice of sending the dragon remains to wade, where he gives you a willpower +10 amulet. What do you get for the other option, where you display the remains?

Just a chunk of influence, if I recall correctly. And not even a very big one.
