I'll always maintain that with the exception of Garrus, ME2 would be the absolute worst of the series in terms of romances.
LotSB alleviates that.

Yeah, ditto. Even the sugar-coated version of my thoughts on SJWs and feminists are unprintable in a family forum. Never tried to hide that.
Traynor's romance was garbage. Hey, guess what? So was every other romance in ME3. I only see one group crying persecution though. "The asari and human woman we creepily eavesdrop on don't live happily ever after? What does BW have against lesbians?!" Such a mystery why I'm not gushing respect.
So let's see, I pointed out directly my concerns, to what you started attacking me instead of addressing them. Then you lied about me in attempt to make me look bad and of course you try to exaggerate and make up statements I never said, like insinuating I would want straight characters to be unlikable - something I never gave you any reason to suspect and after receiving response explaining that - you tried to attack me from different angle.
And turns out, you have problem with lesbians, "SJWs" and feminists, so apparently it doesn't even really matter what I write. What a surprise.

It does. It has the best romance dynamic in the series, in my opinion, but just the same, it's more a continuation of it.

No, I quoted a friend. And it looks to me like he was right. You're wording it a little differently but its the same nonsense. "Traynor's romance doesn't count because it was made for men."
But hey, keep going on about how I'm trying to defame you while claiming I have a problem with people because of their sexual orientation. That totally doesn't make you a hypocrite or anything.
That's pretty funny, you said it yourself that lesbians are a group you're "not gushing respect" toward (alongside feminists and "SJWs") right in previous comment I cited, but you try to insinuate now that I lie by commenting that you have problem with lesbians?

Let's see. It was a commentary on sociological views. I could've been talking about a group bound together by random sexual orientation, or I could've been talking about a group bound together by sociological views. You picked Door A? Yeah, that sounds about right.
We should get back to talking about how horrible Sera is before the lock.
So you don't like lesbians, but it doesn't have anything to do with our lesbian sexual orientation, but it's because of our lesbian views?
Moments like this actually make me admire Sera more.
Her being a well written character is not a valid defense .She is still an imbecile and you don't really get to call her out on it.
Some of you people are defending her,but it actually turns out she was wrong.Sera fancies herself a prankster? A trickster?A troll? Solas is the the mother-fuc.king dread wolf!
We actually met Mythal and we don't get to rub it in her face. The voices from the well don't get to call her out.nothing.
It would be more bearable if there was even a chance she had a point, but no.
It's almost a corrupted version of the Can't Argue with Elves trope.

Thats what bothers me the most about Sera. The fact that the game does not allow you to really call her out on her BS. Its like Tallis. Its like DA2 again.

It's the starchild again lol (though not as world shaking).Every word is oozing stupidity and irrationality but the game doesn't allow you to say anything about it.
Especially since you have absolute proof that she is objectively wrong.
I still can't believe the whole MoTA thing. Never bought/played that DLC for the simple reason that it's absolutely mindboggling they force you to play nice with the qunari after what the Arishok did. The only proper response to "I'm qunari" is decapitation.
We don't have "absolute proof" at all. Flemeth has worked suspiciously like a demon all this time. It's entirely ambiguous as to what those two are. Just because they are the Elven gods doesn't make them GODS. I could still see Sera turning out to be right. And for the last time, she is severely psychologically fractured, you can tell that from her speech patterns. You take that sort of condition and mix it in with some very ingrained views, you get a person who's violently intolerant and alien. And I love Bioware for writing a character like that. Just wish that some sort of explanation was thrown in there, or an ability to tell her off without losing her. Some growth, y'know?
And turns out, you have problem with lesbians, "SJWs" and feminists, so apparently it doesn't even really matter what I write. What a surprise.
I think feminists need a new name; all people think of is 'grumpy uptight ******' when it actually means 'anyone who thinks women are equal to men'. Maybe...Equalists or something.
Damn...I actually feel sad for the lesbians...They got shafted even more than straight males...
I mean, the only issue I have with Cassandra is her religiosity and faith level but that is tolerable and she actually evolves as a character throughout the game...
Sera though, by the gods, she is b***hy and annoying in almost every way possible and she never evolves as a character throughout the game at all...
She's the worst character ever written.
I believe that Sera is Bioware's attempt to mock forum trolls. Maybe that's just my imagination though.

Oh please.
Just because Cass and Josephine don't fit your expectations doesn't mean you can speak for all straight males.

sorry that one is taken

People are mad that they couldn't remake her in their image, just like they were mad that they couldn't remake Morrigan in their image in Origins.
The parallel is very apt. In both cases people seem angry out of all proportion, apparently because the fictional character in question didn't follow the expected, simplistic, formulaic script. They didn't treat the protagonist's tender feefees as the only important thing in the world.
Hey! I romanced you, my happiness is now your only desire! Didn't you get the memo? You can't possibly leave!
Hey! I know I just told you that the stupid tribal tat on my face (that you have been laughing at since forever) actually said "Property of Larry's Elfateria" but ignore that! Do your job; pat me on the head and say "Oh, you poor, poor thing" right now, dammit!
Hey! I paid for your dinner, I think that entitles me to...
I like that Sera didn't instantly turn into Tenderheart Bear and let the scene dissolve into a Hallmark card. It's a much better scene the way it was written. Kudos to Lukas Kristjanson.
And to all you people hurt and angry about Sera's behavior;

@Nathair: We weren't expecting Sera to bow-tow to our every whim, we were expecting a bit of basic human decency. You know, like her not rubbing it in that she was "right about the Dalish" while the Inquisitor is still reeling from that discovery.
And I don't know where you pulled Morrigan from--most people who romanced her actually enjoyed that she put her own goals above her feelings for the Warden, because it was staying true to her character and it made the story more interesting.
"Egalitarianist" is the term for someone who thinks everyone is equal. "Feminist" is... entirely different.
Egalitarianism is very a broad label, it encompases social policies in various arenas; economic, racial , gender, political, etc. Feminism is just an egalitarian subset, concerned specifically with gender equality.
So no, it is far from "entirely different".
@we were expecting a bit of basic human decency.
This right here... is why you fail.
It is a concept that is subjective and not at all universal. YOUR belief system tells you that you should act one way, but the moment you demand others follow the same belief system, you've started the Crusades.
Besides, Sera's not even human, why would you expect human decency from her? ![]()
Seriously guys, it's one thing to say "I dislike Sera because of X, Y, and Z." This is a forum for discussion and sharing of perspectives while playing the game, after all. It's another thing to say "Sera is a #$%^ character and anyone who likes her is a failure as a friend/human being." That's just being prejudiced, judgmental, and just a wee bit self-righteous.
Guess which one we're seeing more out of in this thread?
