I wish there was a murder knife option for her, as I'd much rather save Thedas from her presence than just asking her to leave the Inqusition.
Anyone else think Sera is kind of...

It seems to me based on a few more materials she's a bit more Isabella-ish than otherwise preferred. It still feels like they purposely hamstring their "different" characters a bit in order to ensure they have these kind of 'issues' that would compel them to come crawling back to their uber-mensch Solas/Blackwall type characters.
Honest people don't have to be silly and chaotic. Wrecking balls like Blackwall and IB don't have to be unsympathetic. Anyway, I don't really want to say anything more negative about her for the most part though, because it's probably better they try and fail than try and not succeed.

I always thought that she grew up in the denerim alienage....and we know what happened there in the span on just a year, so maybe that affected her?
Also, I wonder if she bumped into Dalish while traveling only to find out how much ***** they can be. Now you have internalized racism exacerbated by Dalish hating a young Sera

I think Sera has asperers actually, she seems to fit the type. Which makes it even more abhorrent people just write the poor girl off without trying to understand her. Probably the same type of folks who laugh at mentally disabled people too.
Considering my best friend has Aspergers, I find this insinuation both mindless and inflamatory. Women with Aspergers are very much withdrawn sorts from my own observation; it messes them up a lot more then men. Sera is not withdrawn; she's just not very smart beyond street smart, self-serving, and intentionally ignorant.

Isn't this the equivalent of: I hate her because she's anti anything I want to believe about elves? Irony, it's not just for breakfast any more.

Sera to me seems like Bioware went out and captured a 4chan troll and some how managed to upload them into a game. I'll admit she can be grating at times, but she's not Varric so I take her along whenever I get the chance. Also am I the only one that thinks her lips get assaulted with a beehive and she's having an allergic reaction?

People tend to do whatever companions want just to gain approval.Even go against their own characters beliefs or damage their own inquisition.Being on Seras leash will lead to sheer stupidity unfortunately.
With Sera,it's like a blind folded person asking you to close you eyes forever so you will be like her,and somehow that is supposed to be a good thing.(it's not, especially if you are the inquisitor.Especially if people are depending on you not to be an imbecile)
No path is darker than when your eyes are closed.(paraphrasing flemeth)

Really? Because she approves of helping out the commoners (at least in the Hinterlands), killing enemies that are kind of evil in any case, saving Celene (which is not stupid. We really won't know until next game what the outcome of that is). I didn't conscript the mages just to appease her, and firmly roleplayed that my character lied to her when she denounced the Elven Gods (what she doesn't know won't cause her to whine about it). Calling people who do these things, even in the context of getting Approval, stupid is stooping down to Sera's level. I know it's the internet, but don't do that.

Why does she disapprove of helping Briala, she's doing it for the fellow elves of Orlais who been oppressed, who suffer the most, and if any person is close of being a champion of the little people, it's Briala. Celene is not exactly a little people nor the helpless, the needy people here.

I have no idea. I'm absolutely sure there's some Sera-ish explanation. My character didn't kill anyone because that's what I felt the situation called for. Had nothing to do with Sera's unsurprisingly-for-her strange logic. I'm not trying to justify Sera's reaction, I'm just defending against the "Anyone who likes Sera is stupid, innit?"

My impression is that Sera thinks Briala is only interested in getting back at Celene as part of a lovers' spat. That, and she seems opposed to the idea that the elves need a special interest group outside the rest of the common people.I have no idea. I'm absolutely sure there's some Sera-ish explanation. I don't know if it's Sera strange logic, Sera's hypothetical or the writer made a mistake. Honestly, I fully expect Sera to disapprove only when the player chooses to side with Celene or Gaspard, and execute Briala. I'm not saying that people who likes Sera is stupid, and I know she's not the character for everyone. I'm only here to voicing my opinion why I don't like Sera, not judging other people. If anyone is liking or hating on a character or something...well that's their own business.

I'm sorry, by quoting you it seemed that I was only talking about you. I was referring to the person who IS saying that people who like Sera are stupid. You've brought in some fine logic, I was just saying that a player can still be intelligent even if they're lobbying for Sera's approval.

That seems like one of her fundamentals, she's opposed to special status for elves. Liberalism vs multiculturalism, maybe she's been secretly reading Brian Barry?

The elves of Orlais is the one who suffer the most...more than any commoner or poor farmer...nevermind.

No! No..no. You didn't have to apologize. You didn't do anything wrong or attacking me at all. I was only pointing out in case some people took me to be one of those people who's judging the people who like something or someone. Thank you for saying that. I don't think any player is stupid for lobbying for companion's approval.

Cannot stand her. I find it funny that we always have the option of "you don't fit in here" for her. Do other companions always have that or is my approval with her just really low? I haven't seen it with anyone else so far..

I'm not sure if you can kick other companions out, and it's probably doesn't have anything to do with approval since it seems like you can kick Sera out at anytime.

Nope, it's just her. They realized that there's some moments in the story where certain players might want to kick her out (if I was a Solas-mancer, I would. In fact...three playtrhoughs down the line I just might). I kind of wish we had it for all characters though. Well, all the ones that make sense.

I thought only the straight guy will complain because the lack of option, or because Josie and Cass doesn't meet people's expectation. I suppose we can pat each other on the back. Not that I'm complaining about two romance option only for the straight guy. ![]()

So she's a *itch, so what?
BioWare has a history of creating highly controversial female characters.
I mean, how "nice" was Jack? Was Morrigan in DAO really a kind, caring person, who likes to help people? And Isabela or Viconia or Vivienne aren't exactly paragons of gentleness and altruism.
Talking about paragons and controversial female characters...
I think most of those characters were a great addition to the cast of companions.

Believe me, I'm not entirely happy with my company in this area, but there some issues on which I'm forced to agree.
