I'm actually surprised at all the complaints in general. But I like both Cass and Sera (both of which turn out to be incredibly sweet in their respective romances). Feel a little surprised by the structure of Josephine's, but don't feel it was disappointing by any means. And I've only not done Solas's romance out of empathy for my main, and will do it in a heartbeat if they add some closure for that. Cullen seems super awesome as well. Blackwall.......meh.

But then again, I'm generally very happy with the game.

They realized that there's some moments in the story where certain players might want to kick her out (if I was a Solas-mancer, I would. In fact...three playtrhoughs down the line I just might).

This is a lame excuse for them. Other ppl might want to kick other characters out. Why is Sera only having that option and not Vivienne or say IB? There are ppl who don't find Sera annoying but find IB instead. Do you have the option to kick him out? No, you don't.

This is pretty low.

So she's a *itch, so what?

BioWare has a history of creating highly controversial female characters.

I mean, how "nice" was Jack? Was Morrigan in DAO really a kind, caring person, who likes to help people? And Isabela or Viconia or Vivienne aren't exactly paragons of gentleness and altruism.

Talking about paragons and controversial female characters...

I think most of those characters were a great addition to the cast of companions.

Jack and Morrigan eventually pull their head out of their ass, and they evolve or grow...that's the problem for Sera. She doesn't grow or evolve, and she doesn't wish to. Not that she has to change entirely, but she's pretty much stay the same and lack of character development.

And that's why i personally hope we get a DLC with some growth on Sera. Like, not losing her humor or her personality overal but she does need some growth in other things.

I rather want a full expansion like Awakening, but a couple of DLC before that would be nice.

Growth enough for her to not break up with the Inquisitor over Mythal?

What I was thinking was an expansion focusing on the consequences of the ending, giving closure to the Solas storyline whilst also allowing for more companion interaction. It could be set a good time after, showing us what the story of Inquisition did to the various party members. Relationship-focused DLC would be shallow and pointless.

Dont like her? Give her a** the boot. Did that as soon as i could on my 2nd playthrough(currently) when i learned theres no chance i can tolerate her again. Thanks bioware for the option.

Growth in terms of her being a little more mature and respectful. Not about her beliefs.

If she doesn't want to be with an elf inquisitor who believes in "dalish gods", that's fine. It's not immaturity, it's her own preference.

I would call that immature, given that her issue is more her seeing proof of them and wanting to fervently deny it.

I didn't mean a DLC for companions but a mission like Awakening, yes. And getting glimpses of some growth in Sera's part, in the progress.

Considering my best friend has Aspergers, I find this insinuation both mindless and inflamatory. Women with Aspergers are very much withdrawn sorts from my own observation; it messes them up a lot more then men. Sera is not withdrawn; she's just not very smart beyond street smart, self-serving, and intentionally ignorant.

Shows what you know which is nothing. I know many female aspies and they so aren't all like that, and if you forgot she's a natural prodigy with a bow. She needed no trainer to be as good as she is which surprises many people.

I never say that you want a DLC for a companion only, and that will be like 1/3 of the content. Also a DLC or full expansion that mainly focused on the story with a lot of character development for your companions would be great.

Still doesn't imply she has asperger. And even if that was the case, nothing wrong with the inquisitor being annoyed with her personality.

I agree completely, it is highly disturbing that Sera is the only one I can kick out, it is like they knew she would get on people nerves.

But so what? at least own your damn problematic characters, also her being the lesbian companion makes it even worse. Ashley for example could be read as problematic too and I still could not kick her out. At least in DA:O I can kick almost everyone.

I really wish they had done a better job, somehow it seems Sera got a lot less than the other romances and I am not even talking about growing as a person but the deep of it.

Yeah it's weird you don't get "I think you should leave" choices for everyone.

I know there's times you can ask Dorian to leave but it's not CONSTANTLY on the screen.

People tend to do whatever companions want just to gain approval.Even go against their own characters beliefs or damage their own inquisition.Being on Seras leash will lead to sheer stupidity unfortunately.
With Sera,it's like  a blind folded person asking you to close you eyes forever so you will be like her,and somehow that is supposed to be a good thing.(it's not, especially if you are the inquisitor.Especially if people are depending on you not to be an imbecile)

No path is darker than when your eyes are closed.(paraphrasing flemeth)

Really? Romancing Sera didn't stop my Inquisitor from saving the world. So I guess, contrary to the hyperbole, it can be done, eh?

The funny (or sad) thing is that you get those too and plus the one "CONSTANTLY on the screen".

...and yet, it seems, nobody takes it. Is it inherent weakness on their parts, or is it "hey look, a bandwagon to jump on"?

Yikes.

They really should've had that for everyone. As it is you have to ****** them off enough for them to bounce which can be annoying.

Honestly, I overall was alright with Sera. I kind of just tuned out her whole Maker/chantry talk like I did at times with Sebastian in DA2. The only difference this way around is that it's an elf talking about it & preferring some form of ignorance regarding magic/spirits/etc rather than some choir boy (I always did prefer rivaling him, at least you could toss things back in his face). But overall I managed to max out my friendship with her because I prefer having as many allies as possible, so. I think it comes to the end point of, if you don't like her, don't recruit her/give her the boot & if you do, then keep her. Her personality isn't meant to be uniformly adored by everyone. Would be nice if she had gotten some further growth though, that is for certain.

Sera is hilarious. A lot of people call her things like "rude" and "a b*tch" - just imagine her same personality but she's a male companion. I bet most would find him hilarious/amazing. Hence the double standard.

If it's any consolation to the folks who think she's "rude" or "a b*tch" - a man wrote her.

Not really I find her funny the same way that I disliked Oghren in the past but still find him funny too (also written by a woman) but I sure do not want to romance Oghren nor it was offered similar romances with hetero companions. The game even acknowledged she is problematic with the choice to kick her out ffs.

Overall I still think she was a really poor attempt at a lesbian romance, as a companion she is on the same level as Oghren and yes I agree it is double standards if you like him in DA:O.
