Yeah but what if you want the gray area people to learn the world is sometimes black and white?

Gray area people are far better imo. More accepted, open minded, etc. And even if the world sometimes is black and white, i'd rather they stay in the grey area.

History tells us that any disagreement can be solved with sufficiently high application of violence.

She calls you stupid for believing what you've been taught your entire life (if you're dalish) and dismisses everything you learn about the Elves' true history as "demon-worshiping" whether she was there in the party at the time or not. That is incredibly small-minded and bigoted (not the least of which I found no evidence of demon worship when I was there).

I have noticed that there is far more physical, empirical, and verifiable evidence for the existence of the Dalish Creators (whether they were God-like beings or not) AND the Tevinter Old Gods (what were the last 5 blights again?) than there is for the Maker (though Andraste probably did exist), but Sera just basically shuts down and says: "Nope, not real because I say its not." Sera, I really want to punch you.

I think she doesn't want to believe because she's scared and insecure. Not because "she says it".

This is why I love Sera, she applies violence liberally, when she gets the chance.

She has heavy issues with dalish (which i don't blame her) and she breaks up with the elf inquisitor if she tells her that she believes in her own gods though. I understand that Sera probably doesn't want a "religious" girlfriend but people can have beliefs and mantain a healthy relationship without getting preachy about religions and gods. I guess Sera is like that, oh well.

Wait, she legit does that? "You have a different faith/god then me so I don't want to be in a relationship with you anymore"?

Holy crap, what a bigot.

There's a conversation you can have with her right after you get to Skyhold that lays that out precisely. It starts out with her going on about the Maker's seat, and the seat needing a butt, so it's real. Then, if pressed, she'll admit that she's there to see if it's really real, but that she's not sure that she wants to know.

Only with dalish, yes.

Also this applies to real life. Some people won't date religious people.... others tolerate it as long as they aren't preachy... Sera is the first example.

Makes these people just very wary of religion ruining the relationship.

Only the Dalish...wow, her elf-hate is even worse than I thought.

And Sera herself is religious; she's just being a major narrow-minded hypocrite with that. Even though she's the one who ruined the relationship, since I understand she's the one who asks about the religion of the PC?

Since one can only play Dalish if one rolls an elf, how does this in any way magnify her "elf hate"?

Also, since you're so fond of pointing out the "elf hate", how is hating the Dalish religion in the least bit hypocritical? It seems to me that it's pretty consistent. Maybe that word doesn't mean what you think it does?

The fact she SOLELY breaks up with the Dalish inquisitor purely because they believe in Elvhen Gods? She's an elf-hater- she hates the PC if they dare have anything to do with the Elvhen culture. It's not a relgious thing, since Sera is religious; she simply hates the religon the PC ascribes to because it's the Elvhen religon. How can you defend that?

And wtf is that last sentence supposed to mean? Like wut.

The Dalish don't have good relations with non-Dalish, especially city elves. And let's face it, modern Dalish culture is pretty nonsensical(as well as humorously inaccurate, the whole wearing slave marking as the sign of being Dalish without knowing it is pretty funny). The Dalish generally come off as hostile and there are those among them who kill "shems" for trespassing and the like.

Let's remember, Sera is about the little folk, human or elven. The Dalish tend to be as bad as nobles when it comes to some poor sod breaking their rules.

Nobles kill peasants for poaching in their private hunting lands, Dalish do the same.

LMAO yeah it's so funny that after a few dozen centuries of slavery and subjuggation the Dalish have forgotten so much lololol

:|

They are also hostile for a reason since humans and Dalish tend to snap at each other and the Templars try to kill their Keepers all the time. Little wonder they're cranky.

Sera already made it clear through dialogue and actionsher commitment towards the 'little folk' depends purely on HER opinion on what that means; hence her not caring about mages, or the Orlesian elves depite the fact Celene purged a few thousand of them recently, or even using her own 'little folk' solely to get back at a noble- which is something she's constantly raging about nobels doing and how she hates it.

Yeah DALISH, not the religon itself. If she hates violent religons, she really should be hating the Chantry then AKA Exalted Marches and their garbage. But she doesn't break up with the PC over that- she does it purely because the believe in a different Gods. Not whatever damn example you're trying to pull outta nowehere.

Sera is Andrastian, she does not believe in, or even like the Dalish religion. How is this in any way being a hypocrite? ": a person who claims or pretends to have certain beliefs about what is right but who behaves in a way that disagrees with those beliefs". Again, it seems pretty consistent with what she's been saying and doing since we met her.

Andrastian beliefs reject slavery outright.

Unlike Elven society which had elven slaves which the modern Dalish wear the markings of.

You basically said they're cranky because they're victims.

Well there are human victims and slaves too. They just happened to be on the losing end of the last few wars. Notice how your average city elf isn't as much a jerk as your average Dalish.

She's a hypocrite because she has issues if you believe in a god;

She flatout says "Why are you acting stupid?" if you say you believe in the Dalish Gods, yet SHE believes in the Maker.

She's a hypocrite. HER religon is the right one and if you believe in any other god you're an idiot by her own words. She's a hypocrite.

The word you are looking for is intolerant, not hypocritical. Its not hypocritical to reject outside beliefs or ideas.

I'm a big fan of the school of warfare that says if you invade my lands and start an unprovoked war upon my people, bombing your people back into the stone age and destroying your culture is a perfectly legitimate response.  Tough luck for the Dalish, but they had it coming.

The modern Dalish are disproportionately jerks. Especially to commonfolk who aren't Dalish, whether they be humans or elves. Why wouldn't a character like Sera dislike them?

You're a hypcorite if you're religous yet say anyone else who believes is stupid.

Sera is religious. However she breaks up with you if you're in a romance with her and repeatedly calls you stupid if you yourself is religous. She's a hypocrite.
