Good god so many people tripping over themselves at the sight of a more independent woman. Ick.
What the actual f...? That has nothing to do with her being a woman.
I gotta say I agree with you she was way too annoying for my Inquisitor after her personal quests where she just killed that guy and then even said I should look out maybe she will do the same to me I kicked her out of my team
damm what a brat
she was basically just a filler companion (had no input to the story and her motiviation for joining the inquisiton seemed vague)
so at least she had to be funny and loyal
Glad we have Iron Bull for that one of my favourite Bioware companions love that dude
Alright, so she killed the guy who murdered her friend and tried to murder you...The freaking guy was just finding a way out of death with his talk. If he didn't want to mess with you, he'd call off the mercs before they all died. But, he saw you and still let the mercs attack you. Also, he killed an innocence, there is no way out of that crime.
He should have died but I let him go because I don't want to see Sera kill him messily.
I have no problem that a personality like hers is in the game.
I ignore her for the most part. English is not my native language and half the time I don't understand her anyways. Does she even produce full sentences?
I do find it insulting she is a romanceable character, because it gives one less option of the few allready in the game and Josephine doesn't appeal either.
Oh well, doing other romance options again that in no way resemble my own. It is a RPG after all.
without being so spoilerly, has anyone tried to romance her with a Dalish mage who is elfy? or pro dalish? is it fun?
I wanted a elf on elf romance, but shes hard to please, i may have to go to Cullen.
There's a certain point where you're going to have to choose to let her think you're less Elfy. Or the romance ends. It's more like "you're good, for an elf".
As I've said before, I don't think she's an elf. I think she's a human who was abused and mutilated. It would explain the extremely fractured personality and, if it was a higher class individual, hatred towards those who think themselves higher.

So.. what your saying is that if i want to roleplay a Dalish, I'm going to have to either lie to her in character or just not romance her period? I guess there is a heavy choose Dalish or not choice?
.She has good points, but the hypocrisy of her nature seems to escape her.
Then one day you will realize that 90% of people around are all like that.
I disliked her ever since I heard words come out of her mouth, that accent just grated me
Then I listened to what she was saying
I have never seen a more petty, childish, and annoying companion in any game, I'd rather be stuck with Carth, Jacob, Kaidan, and Carver than her. She's stubborn, foolish, self-centered, impolite, crude, and her wannabe Robin Hood schtick comes off as a bunch of nobodies justifying the nobility's disdain of commoners.
Is that a picture of Sera's "valley" or is that simply pointing out how disposeable Sera is?
Sorry, I messed up. Let me fix it:

It's a parody of the Uncanny Valley chart. Sera is so far up the "want to get rid of" and "cannot stand" scales but dips into this weird spot that, while still dislikable, you just can't bring yourself to kick her out.

Hi everyone. Let's try to keep the vulgarity or violent suggestion out of the thread. Thank you.

Less that than it's just like she doesn't like for her beliefs to be challenged (I know a lot of people like that) and I can honestly see her point of view in terms of the lore. Still, if you want to keep a religiously practicing Dalish elf, yeah......But it might just be a case of "things not to bring up to someone because it makes them mad"
Though I didn't actually try the other choice, so it's hard for me to say how it turns out.
Sera isn't as complicated of a character as the others imo. When getting approval with her you just choose the options that are funny or sarcastic. I was very upset with how she is in game, I wish I could have been better friends with her while playing a practical, Dalish Necromancer(and I also was FULL Spirit magic, I just went Necro for Horror >.>). So many Inquisition companions hate magic.

Carth, Jacob, Kaidan is just bland and seems dull compare to the rest of the companions who is unique in their own way, but there is nothing wrong with them. Carver is immature, childish and jealous little brother but he grows as the story progress, and in the end he never really hates Hawke. I think Sera invent that Robin Hood fantasy as an excuse to do whatever she want and please. I don't think she's really cared for the little people, in the end she just wants to getting back at arrogant nobles for herself and make the world her personal glorified playground.
So, I got a post removed because I mentioned that Sera makes one miss the murder knife.
Why is this unacceptable? Is the moderator unaware of Dragon Age: Origins?? I as a human being don't actually want to kill people. But, you know, sometimes I play characters that do. Like, you know, most Bioware games allow.
She's a total ******, and I love her for it.
At times she could be my Lavellan's little sister.
(Or I guess that's how one would behave, IDK, I grew up an only child)
I almost felt like her character was incomplete. She doesn't really evolve at all the entire game. The other characters change a bit (beliefs, attitude, whatever) as the story goes on, but she doesn't. I had hoped by the end she would have grown up a bit, mellowed out and be more understanding and reasonable (while still keeping her base humor), but she was the same from start to finish. If you romance her she admits to trying to be a better person, but there isn't really any evidence of it happening.
Might just be me though.
First chance I got to get rid of her I took it, Honestly my most hated character in DA even worse than Fenris.
right. Snap judgments are the only way to operate.
Her dialogue is just horribly written. NO ONE talks like that. No one.
She feels like a very poorly written Isabela.
really? No one?

Right. Finding something that you dislike and continuing to do it for no good reason is the smart thing to do.
not the same thing
I never take her out with me unless it is resource gathering because I feel bad she is always left out. She isn't the type of person I particularly enjoy. I would oust her if I knew what story line I would lose. Thus far she is, in my opinion, whiny and selfish.

how?
It's really weird, as Sera was the inverse for me. I started off thinking of her preview spotlight as "mehn". I figured I'd want to keep Varric as my go-to rogue. But wow...
The first moment I met Sera and she opened her mouth and started babbling, I was like "WTF?!" But then she said "...cause you know, breeches!" and I was sold!
I've been trying to juggle having her in the party, alternating Varric and Sera like a divorcee couple. I was also tempted to toss my burgeoning romances with Cullen and Blackwall out the window, and go straight for my crazy BFF. But I decided I am going to save a romance just for her when I make an elfy!
She's also completely redundant tactically because Varric fills the same role, except better. Bianca > whatever Sera can get.
Plus, he's Varric.
Sebastian 2.0 confirmed. Terrible personality, poor version of Varric in combat.
Is Varric still automatically the superior archer in this game as well no matter what? I was pretty certain you can make some pretty powerful bows for Sera to use.
