That is something I was hoping for ... the question is, shall I do that? Barriers seem to be inevitable for the party surviving casual fights... I will decide once I see specializations

OG Swift. I have had to respec now. I have completed basically everything I can Open World. Up until the point of the story mission Templar or Mages. I am almost level 11

 

I have gone through Forlon Swamp, up to the second rift with the challenged mission mini boss. Completing All of the Oasis, Storm Coast and the Hinterlands

 

I have had to respec to a full Spirit build using some fire for damage. Taking Solas or Vivanne as a Storm mage for it's CC. Sometimes I run with two Tanks like when lighting the beacons in the swamp and the spiders in the mini dungeon in the Oasis, also some rifts. Or using a range rogue, or 2 hander. Simply because the AI is stupid and they don't know how to cast barriers, or dispel properly in realtime.

 

I am using pause a lot more, with those certain rifts, and the bigger fights. When changing between casters, for casting barrier, dispel, revive, changing to Storm for CC. But letting the others mostly get on with it after point them in the right direction. The AI tend not to cast static barrier, or lighting bolt, CC. They would rather fling out level 2 spells endlessly chaining lighting or barrage.

 

I have mucked up on 2 missions. I have no idea what a Flanderis is, for the lovers quest in the Hinterlands, needed for the shrine at the farm D'oh? Also I didn't use the Mercy Crest for the Blades encampment in the Storm Coast. I am curious if I get more shards in later area's? Because I would have to load my game in the Oasis after choosing Fire. I'm at the final door for fire, but I opened the first doors of the other 2, spirit and cold. I need lambswool for the mission of making tents. I used what lambswool I got for upgrades, but cannot find any lambs to kill, or a lambswool vendor. The dragon and troll keep appearing, then disappearing on the Storm Coast, I really want to kill that troll. I haven't been able to get to the Lyreium there because the dungeon is locked.

 

I have left 2 rifts in Hinterlands in the woods, because I am a little lazy to do the story and get better gear, also leaving the dragon area there, which unlocks more shards. I have left the 4th beacon, and the rift with the mini boss in the Swamp.

 

In answer to your question, in short the AI aren't too clever, later fights become a tactical pausing game, unless you are over leveled. Using yourself to cast competent barriers, and dispels, for those harder fights is required. This can be done by swapping to your AI, but often they will have drained the barrier greedily on themselves first. Often they won't cast dispel as intended. Really I would spec as Spirit to see this achieved properly for better survivability. Meaning, also playing a lot more in realtime, because you are casting exactly where is needed, without the AI being on CD.

 

A real shame that the pitch grenades don't combine with immolate or fire grenades. Sigh D'oh......Moar Bee's MUHAHAHA makes for more realtime play.

Okay, I can't tell if you are serious anymore. Let me quote the exact wording you used when talking about FF. Before any of this ever happened. I pray that you please read it. Also I would like to mention, the slight amount of flaming came from you intially, I was attempting to make sure we both had an understanding. I'm 100% positive that anyone reading this series of unfortunate events would agree that your posts are not very clear, or consise.

 

either that or you are the one derailing what I actually said in direction YOU want the discussion to go as you clearly have specific gripes with FF and that gripe has nothing to do with mine.

you are worried about the aspects of how FF work in this and previous games, I'm worried that tactics and behavior were replaced by bad AI making the ff centered gameplay of previous nightmare mode DA games completely undesidered and unpractical.

 

which is why I went with the "wtf you on about" comment, as you talk about things I never even mentioned, and please dont speak for "everyone" ok?

No, no I dont... why should I? everyone BS's from time to time, for many reasons, sometimes they are overhyped about something and exaggerate, that is quite a common BS source on gaming forums, other times someone doesnt know any better and writes something that is BS, happens to me all the time, I been called on BS and I dont think I ever felt insulted, I celebrated it in fact, for breaking my illusion or miss informed state.

 

you never called anyone or their BS? on a friend perhaps, was he offended?  then you hear it or see it, you just let it slide is it?

perhaps its you who should grow up if you cant be called bs on something you said/wrote without going personal about it.

No. I would never dream of calling somebody BS off of the fly because I had my own problems in comprehending them. It is insulting. I would however politely ask them first what was meant or intended, when leaving whatever opinion to myself after gaining an understanding .

 

This is called upbringing, manners, and social ettiquete. The type of things you should have been taught if you hadn't have been shouting BS. Sadly for you that attitude of yours will never learn, because you think you are so much better. Seriously give your mouth a chance, although that won't happen will it? When it is forever so clogged with your own BS. Grow up!
