For ones who are not familiar with meaning and defention of fantasy roles defentiotion, in short form, with important things bolded:

tank is a style of character in gaming, often associated with a character class. A common convention in real-time strategy gamesrole-playing gamesFighting Games and MUDs, tanks redirect enemy attacks or attention toward themselves in order to protect other characters or units. Since this role often requires them to suffer large amounts of damage, they rely on large amounts of vitality or armor, healing by other party members, evasiveness and misdirection, or self regeneration.[1]

Yeah, you read right, not just "soak alot of damage, run away, come back with guard and wonder why other die"

the thing that annoys me in DAMP pugs that there many dumb selfshit Legionaires who love their border OP tank but are uselees piece of crap, and could even whine about DD die. DD is there to do damage, when Tanks pull/taunt enemies. on them .

Alot of people whine about Katari, Reaver, Assasin, Alchemist , but hey, those are purest melee DD dealers, and they surpass ranged ST of Archer and mages. Melee DD involve risk, which should be taken of by proper tank / support work, with quite of deal of proper timing and positioning from melee DD player. Tanks also have responsibility those guys dying, not only those guys themselves (unless they run into mobs and die straight), because if you play as tank you should not be only selfish guy who ends game with more score than melee DDs because he died less, but you must use brains and fulfill your role, this means, pull attention CONSTANTLY from those guys to allow them to do their role, i.e. Damage Dealing.

Support? Keeper? You need to see and differ whether your composition requires from you well-timed barriers on Tank (ranged dps), or melee DDs (they are more powerful but they are very prone to dying without proper tank pull and your barrier). Barrier on group are great, but not always possible, and pulling Barrier on your DD will allow him to offtank, taking alot from main tank, when laying barrier on guard Legionaire , or even worse - yourself, is just  a waste.

TLDR: Some classes are pure DD, and require pure role definition of tank, dd and support in party. If you do not pull as tank or do not support as support character its your guilty that party wipes. Tank responsibility is to pull attention and damage, to redirect it and soak it (just soaking , eventually you do less than 50% of your work), and support responsibility is to use reasoning and provide your service where is most vital/needed in order to suceed as a team .

To me, the tank should be the first into the room, taking agro of as many mobs as possible and build up guard bar.

once the tank is in and has agro, keeper should cast barrier on the tank then start to deal damage (if you get the perk that normal attack reduces cool downs, they should nearly have barrier by the time it runs out on the tank) whilst the tank has barrier on, he should concentrate on getting a max bar of guard.

any archers or assassins should go in for the flank bonuses, so scoot round the side of the enemies and engage them from there but dont leave yourself open to attacks. flankers should play smart and be aware of enemies who may attack them.

keeper needs to ensure a constant barrier is up, mainly on the tank if possible because he takes all the agro, and if he goes down, your full party is likely to go down.

But i liked a 3rd person sci fi shooter so i bought a fantasy rpg game and i dont like it so bioware pls fix because its definitely not my own stupidity for buying a game based on something completely different, its the developers for not giving me a reegar carbine and an infiltrator so i dont have to coordinate anything with my team to win.

1) Run AW.

2) If they are bad, let them die.

3) Clear solo.

4) Wait before the last door so they stay dead, and go afk. They can't even kick you since they will fail immediately.

???

5) Profit.

Group Barrier is best, hence Barrier create offtanks on bodies of DDs. So its better to time/place it with coordination so not only tank will get, but DDs too, so they can DD and offtank for some period. If DD is good this time will be enough to kill stuff. DD should care about damage and timing. Keepers and other supports should also have some attention how and when they put their barriers. Also proper pure no-tank melee DD is better investment, that in  time of one barrier 2 DDs can take any threat except End Boss, so after barrier on team tehcnically there should be empty room (with may be 1 toughtie) with alot guard on tank. People say DD characters are weak? No, they are not self-sustainable, but not weak. They are very powerful if used properly in properly made and coordinating team ,where tank tanks and not playing dd, where dds do not tank and supported and do really good damage, and support which supports.
