I recently found out that I should have waaaaaay more slots available for game saves than I do.  I have a 120 gb hard drive, and only 2 games being played on it right now.  Why am I only showing space for 3 game saves per character?  I've googled this to death and can't figure out what's wrong.  It's got to be a setting somewhere.  

Our xbox is relatively new (so I know we have plenty of space) and I don't know my way around it as well as I should, apparently!

Do you mean you can only save the game 3 times or that you can only have 3 save files per character? If the latter, you don't really need 3 seperate files you can just overwrite old ones.

only have 13GB of space available on my XBox - I have one primary character with all saves full - about 20 or so (to the point where I have to overwrite an older one if I want to save) and 4 other characters with at least 3 saves each.



Saves look to take about 17MB each. I haven't seen a setting where you'd limit how many saves you could have - its counterintuitive to limit yourself unless you have to for performance reasons - like turning off shadows or something on a PC game.



With a 120GB drive you shouldn't have any space problems and would only run into a game hardcap like I did of 20 some odd saves per character.

I figured out the problem. Embarassingly so, but all is right again.
