I just finished playing as a Dalish Mage who romanced Solas. And now I feel absolutely horrible for putting her through that heartache with him.

This is my 2nd play through, so I already knew what happens with Solas in the end, but I was determined to romance him and thought maybe, just maybe he would at least give her some parting words or... or something! But no, the only thing different was he said something to the effect of "No matter what comes next, just remember, what we had was real." as opposed to the "I'll always respect you." if you were good friends.

I will fully admit that I choked up a bit for my Levallan when he left the way he did at the end and when he ended the relationship, especially doing the 'upset/sad' dialogue options. (Take away her tattoos and then break her heart, what the heck man!)

Kudos to you Bioware for doing such an awesome job on the writing of the romance that I was choking back tears for my character and how lonely she seemed at the end (only biff I had, I wanted a repeatable kiss scene like I did with Cullen :P ). Why did the melancholy romantic one have to have the tragic ending romance? *sob*

When I first began this play through and knowing what happens, I had a chip on my shoulder for quite some time against Solas. But as the romance progressed, that changed. By the end I was praying one of the endings would be Solas going back to Skyhold after the Flemeth incident or he convinced Levallan to come with him and he would reveal to her what he was. But alas, my wish was crushed and my Levallan seemed just as crushed.

And I'm even more saddened by the fact that now I have no idea who or what Solas is and I don't know how this is going to effect Levallan. And how will her being 'bound' to Mythal effect this? Inquiring minds need to know! And my Levallan wants her Solas back!

If it wasn't for the tragic ending of their romance, I would say that Cullen was going to have some competition...

On the bright side you got to romance basically a "god". That's pretty cool.

People are pretty sure Solas is Fen'Harel, the Dread Wolf of the Elven Pantheon, going off the after credits scene and the tarot card changes. Although he's considered a 'trickster' god, I'd actually call him more neutral - he seems, especially off his behaviour in this game, to just want everyone to get along and coexist. He reminds me very much of the 'Human/Neutral' routes of the Shin Megami Tensei games imo.

Also thinking about the whole: did Flemeth possess Solas? Or did Solas suck her dry?

So many questions! Lovers of Solas need them answered!... wait, they never actually became 'lovers'... dangit -.- so no possible love child

Solas being the dread wolf the elven trickster god doesn't make him evil, a number of trickster gods in mythology aren't evil but good or neutral other than Loki and even Loki apparently wasn't in very old tales where besides being a trickster was apparently also a protector of families.

What would even be better is if you got Impregnated by him then the Kieran could have a freind that understands him

I'm working off the very rough theory that, in an attempt to better the lives of the vast majority of elves in ancient Arlathan (the slaves)  he did something to the ruling class/gods (sealed them away?) that involved the Orb, and then fell into the long sleep, assuming or hoping everything would be OK when the tyrants were gone.  Then, ages later, he woke up and found that while the rulers were tyrants, they were also the primary defense against external threats.  Without them, the elves basically continued to self destruct and were crushed by the upstart humans.  So now he's trying to undo what he did, believing that however bad things were before he acted, they were still better than things are today.  I definitely get a 'Stop Solas before he dooms us all by unleashing the Elven Gods' vibe for the future.

I said this in another thread, but the epilogue scene basically established Solas as a V.I.P. within the Dragon Age-verse.  One way or another we'll see him again, so lets keep fingers-crossed it's in a context where our Quizzies see him, too (aka a DAI DLC, versus bringing him back in DA4)!

Just a immortal former ruler of the elves in my opinion. And since all elves were immortal he is not special. Doing that to say he is not special he is just mystical.

Solas is the best, there is no competition. He is like a GOD among men. *see what I did there?*

The tricksters are just chaotic and then their behavior can range from good to neutral to evil
