I noticed in the Iron bull romance you pretty much have to throw yourself at him and throughout  there is always the pretense of business. He is helping you relax and the interaction is very muted. He also takes it very well if you break it off. On the other hand; I noticed with the Dorian/Iron bull romance he pursues Dorian aggressively for no other reason than his own interest. Also, he seems very animated and happy when he gets him. So what gives? It actually seems like you're doing Iron bull a disservice by romancing him.

Here is the video

This has a bit more of the build up dialogue between them.

Who can blame Bull? Impossible to make an Inquisitor hotter and more charming than Dorian.

I do wish he flirted more with the Inquisitor though (if you initiated flirting maybe) but I am happy with the romance. I did want Bull and Dorian to hook up so badly though and I am really glad that its happened. It won't happen till my third playthrough though because I romanced Bull in my first and then I will romance Dorian in the second.

No one loves the Inquisitor. Poor sod.

But seriously, it's a shame. I can't speak for all LI's but some... yeah, it feels just like it would be better to let them be. And it kinda hurts.

Dorian is more Bull's type, I guess.  Maybe he has a thing for haughty, outcast, arrogant Tevinters with dashing facial hair.  It's his other turn-on (besides redheads).

Then we just need a redheaded Inquisitor with a dashing moustache! The ultimate turn-on for the Bull!

Hmm. I like that tendency no more than that thing from DAO where everyone was head over heels about the Warden no matter what if approval is high.

DA2 was better in that sense. There were characters who liked pc no matter what and characters whos trust you could earn.

Now it's just feels like: "Main hero? Meh, maybe. But I still like <insert name here> better". Srsly, what the hell?

Wow, that hurts if they seem to prefer each other over a relationship with your character. The least the writers could do is make it so it appears there is no preference and each relationship is valued equally.

I wish I could find my old post in Bull's thread to quote for proof, but I need to pat myself on the back here...Bull and Dorian getting together if neither is romanced -- I totally called this months ago.

Anyway, it does make my Inquisitor a little sad and jealous that he had to jump through so many hoops and work so hard to capture the big lug's heart...and yet for Dorian, he was served IB's everlasting love on a silver platter.  And it also seems like IB has a happier and more passionate relationship with Dorian than with my Inquisitor, too.

But at the same time I am overjoyed for them, and can't wait to see their relationship blossom when I do my Blackwall romance playthrough.

Me too.  They are only getting one shot at it, though.  I only do one non-gay male playthrough, so they better take that opportunity and be happy for it.  Then, in my following playthrough (and each subsequent playthrough), I'm happily keeping them apart for my own selfish enjoyment.

Kudos to you guys for still finding enjoyment. :) You are much braver than I would be in this situation. Personally, I purchase these games in large part because I like the romance content (I know i'm so pathetic  ). I'd be po'd if some npc was getting better romance content than my character, especially if I was limited to the two, then i'd end up avoiding it or just waiting for a price reduction for the game.  It would have been great if Solas had been made available to male elves as well...no competition from companions.

Aw, man!  I'm almost jealous!  Here I thought Dorian only had eyes for me.  Wrong!  Haha

I guess, on my second playthrough, among the other changes I will make, I will let them meet and fall in love and be happy and cute and naughty together.

I'm actually thrilled that they included this.  Three different bisexual characters have been put in o/s relationships in the games (Leliana with Alistair in Darkspawn Chronicles and Isabela with Fenris in DA 2) and we've never had the bisexual characters end up in s/s relationships yet.  So kudos to the team for including this.  It's nice to see that bisexual =/= just gay for the PC.

I think it's awesome, but I quite enjoyed the IB romance as well w/ my Inquisitor. It was different from any other romance I've done in dragon age games, but turned out really sweet, so I don't feel any competition. I think his romance starting out so casual is what makes it feel kinda distant at first, but near the end I was completely satisfied with how it went.  I'll be glad for them to be happy when I'm romancing a different character and can't wait to hear the banter. Not even gonna spoil myself with the vids. :P

I personally don't think the Iron Bull and Dorian are like soulmates and are better for each other than they would be for the Inquisitor. It's different for them and their relationships with each other. I feel like Dorian and Bull like and care about each other, but they don't LOVE each other. Their relationship seems cute and adorable, but not really about love. Meanwhile, if one of them romances the Inquisitor it gets very deep, and very passionate. It goes beyond them just enjoying each other. They really fall in love, and it shows. I don't think Dorian and Bull's relationship is better than the Quizzie's with either of them. They're both different, they're both good.

It actually seems like Iron Bull is way more into Dorian than he is to Bull in that video. You never know, Dorian could have slayed a dragon for him though!

Bull seems really into Dorian, but I don't get the impression that Dorian is more into Bull than he's into the Inquisitor if you pursue that. So, it doesn't really bother me all that much.

Poor Bull.  I see a boiling bunny in Dorian's future.  Bull won't be ignored......

Good to see this confirmed. I only listened to a tiny bit of the Dorian/Bull banter because I don't want to spoil it for myself, but seeing 2 male companions get together....it's something I was hoping to see, and here it is. And to think I was fully prepared to write Bull off as a bisexual in name only who was a hound dog for the ladies unless I happened to romance him with a guy.

Thank you for proving me wrong, BioWare.

Not only are they especially cute together (jfc WHERE IS THE FANART?? !) but I'm psyched that we finally get to see a non-monosexual person in a SS relationship. Most we've had is past relationships (Leli and Marjolaine, Zev and Taliesen) or sorta ambiguous flirting among companions... not straight up "yeah we really like each other/are banging/are gonna settle into a life of domestic bliss" in your party, where it can't easily be ignored. It's refreshing.

D'aww. I'm a sucker for odd romances. I saw Epler tweet about how people should try romancing neither of these before I got the game, so I was sure they'd hook up. However, the lack of banter triggering in my game meant that I never got to find out this happened. We just ran around in silence and Dorian said he chose to stay with the Inquisition because he couldn't well abandon his best and only friend.

I can imagine it's a bit disappointing if the IB romance seems less than if he hooks up with Dorian. But hey, there are worst things for romance... (Solas romancer here. Going to be playing that card for a while.)

I have to admit, I am not into Dorian/Bull or Bull/Inquisitor. I don't know, I think I am a bit disappointed in Bull's romance over all and I agree with the person that said Dorian didn't seem all that into their relationship. Bull is happy in it, but Dorian seems rather embarrassed and ashamed.

I know this is an older thread, but I just wanted to toss in my two cents.

1. If you want to hear the IB/Dorian romance banter, you have to be locked in a romance with another character. Also, Solas will NOT work for this, since he does not have a hard lock for his romance. It's soft locked even after the final romantic scene with him. I know this because I could still do the "let's talk about us" option with the other available characters, who would say "I thought you were with Solas - when you're not, we can talk" dialogue. Which sucks, because I want the Inquisitor to have Solas and Dorian to have Iron Bull. : /

2. Iron Bull and Dorian are beyond funny and adorable, and I ship the heck out of them. <3

I'm sorry, but I feel my fem Quari is more his type.
