A suggestion for the 'storage chest' in a more roleplay friendly way

I would like a storage chest style system to make my inventory management easier - not essential but its certainly helpful.

However I've always thought the idea of bottomless storage chests that can house 6000 items to be a little silly, so I had an idea I wanted to put forward.

What about creating a room in Skyhold that is your 'armoury'. There is certainly plenty of room around the place! My thought however is not to have a storage chest, but an NPC with the merchant/shopkeeper mechanic/interface attached.

The idea would be this NPC is the keeper of your armoury, you chat to them and the merchant interface pops up. To deposit items, you 'sell' them (but you don't gain any coin, so all 'prices' are zero), similarly to withdraw an item you 'buy' it but again there is no fee to do so.

The benefit of this is being able to make use of the merchant interface to easily be able to sort what items are stored into light, medium, heavy armour and so on. This would make finding what you want to withdraw from the 'armoury' a breeze.

Anyway, just a suggestion - thoughts?

I like it! perhaps you could add a mannequin or wall holsters for weapons and shields. that would please both the eye and the inventory... ;-)

I agree with this point of yours here.

I want a trophy room where I can display my weapons and other things I've collected.  Along with a storage chest to store items i don't want to carry around.  I'm sure other people have suggested this already many times over but it doesn't hurt to ask again.

One of the first few mods that were released in DA:O was a merchant in party camp who could hold your items, he was basically a chest.

But guess what, we'll never see any mod tools for DA:I so the only reliable method for PC players is to hack the game.

I'm very dissapointed that we won't have mods :(
