What seriously? Dorian a less interesting romance than Kaiden? Kaiden is captain mc boring of the dull as a table lamp brigade! Steve was better but he was one of those typical bioware dead ex romances and I generally can't stand those.

Dorian to me felt kind of stereotypical at times. I do agree that his personality can be very fun, got a giggle out of me a time or two when he's practically striking a pose and talking about how attractive he is. I liked Kaiden though for how down to earth he was, I guess maybe I like "boring guys". After all my biggest romantic complaint is that I could not gaymance Cullen.
Steve didn't interest me at all. I'd definitely rate the gaymances Kaiden > Dorian > Iron Bull > Steve

I didn't dislike Kaidan he was just meh to me, I guess it's down to personal taste. His romance arc was alright I suppose. ![]()
I really don't care that much about stereotypes tbh. So many characters can be reduced to stereotypes and so many stereotypical qualities are not actually negative anyway. As long as there is a diversity in the way characters are written and non of them are caricatures I am not bothered. ![]()
I wouldn't say Cullen is boring, maybe he would have been if he hadn't been through all that he had but he was pretty interesting in DA:I. I will be making a femquisitor to romance him with. ![]()

Diversity is great I don't understand why some people have a problem with it. In American (or in Bioware's case Canadian) the default portrayal of people in entertainment media is white. Why is it that the old DAO engine had trouble showing people of darker shades? More than likely it's because it wasn't created with the thought that a developer might want to create them in mind. If we were to launch over 99% of video games into outer space then aliens found them in a few light years they would likely think all humans were white. This is not the case, but the video game medium would lead one to believe this. Bioware is one of the few companies that challenges that notion or is at least attempting to in some form. That is commendable!!!
Thanks Bioware!!!!

What sold me on the Kaiden romance was his confession on the Citadel. "I had been looking all this time for someone, without realizing they were right there all along" I actually got a little teary eyed. I guess I agree that stereotypes aren't inherently an issue, maybe it's just. I don't know Dorian felt kind of foppish. He's still my second choice for a romance though, picking him on my next playthrough.
I can't connect to female characters, so I probably wont ever see the Cullen romance personally. Which is a shame. Not that i'd want everyone to be bi again like in DA2, but I wish we had gotten kind of a down to earth boy next door style romance. Our options for gay men are Dorian or Iron Bull. Nothing in the middle. That's just like, my opinion though, man

To be honest I think we're due a "boy next door" or "knight" archetype for a gay human LI in the next DA game.
The only one who fits the bill is Kaidan, but he's in Mass Effect, and it took 3 games to get him to put out.
There's a reason Kaidan and Alistair are my favorite Bio-LIs ![]()
