I am 20 hours in, just completed the Redcliff mission, have not 100% completed the Hinterlands and have not reached Skyhold yet. I still have Oasis, Storm Coast, and Mire to explore and attend Vivi's party. I can safely say that by the time the end credits role, I would be over 100+ hours and I find that enjoying. I remember putting in a lot of hours into Morrowind and Oblivion (never played Skyrim) but those games did not have the cinematic and core plot experience as Bioware games do. Morrowind/Oblivion were games where you explored and created your own story and purpose.

I do not know what the rest of DAI's content is, but considering that I just did the first major story quest after the prologe and before Skyhold and took me 20 hours to do, I am sure that I am about 15%-20% finished with the game when you add in doing a majority if not all sidequest. Normally on my first playthrough I like to rush so that I can see the story and reserve the 2nd and 3rd playthroughs for the relaxed/take my time and take in the scenery playthroughs. With DAI, I wan this first playthrough to be specail as I only get 1 chance for a 1st playthrough.

It is killing me not to rush but I just want to take my time and soak this all up.

Anyone else here feeling that their first playthrough might take them over the 100+ hour mark? Has anyone beaten the game yet with 100+ hours?

I'm currently about 55 hours in and I think I'm about 60-70% done so I'm guessing my first playthrough will take about 80-90 hours.

Yes I'm on nightmare about 18 hours in, I attempted redcliffe but got my ass kicked so have gone back to the storm coast to level up and find some better gear.

Go to Skyhold now. You dont need complete everthing before go there, and the side quests still available. And you get new companios.

I'm unsure. I initially extrapolated 100+ on the basis of a three-act structure but my brother tells me there are only two acts so I'd say it's possible but unlikely.

The way I play (exploring every nook and cranny) I expect I'll easily hit the 100+ hours mark! By way of comparison, my single playthrough of Kingdoms of Amalur took me about 210 game hours to complete if I remember correctly. (Origin tells me I actually played KoAR for 425 hours, which wasn't a bad return on a £5 investment.)

I'm sure I'll manage 100+ hours out of this. Skyrim took me nearly 300, and DAI seems to have a world that potentially beats Skyrims in terms of gameplay content. I've only put 10 hours in so far, which has barely got me to scratch the surface of the Hinterlands, been to Val Royeaux for all of 20 minutes to recruit Sera and Vivienne.

How does this game compare in size to skyrim?  I understand they are different but curious if someone wouldn't mind giving it a go.

I recruited Seven Companions so far, explored but Not completed the hinterlands and the Storm coast, and I didn't start the mage/templar quest yet. 30 hours of gameplay. i doubt I'll finish the game without hitting 100 Hours.

Given how I’m 35 hours in and haven’t even reached half the plot, yes, most definitely. There’s just so much stuff to do, I love it. The only con is doing the main storyline while being over-leveled.

Do all areas need visiting or are some purely optional?

Purely optional.

I would say try to get to Skyhold as quickly as possible because if you level too fast you won't be able to specialize.

As far as explorable area goes, it's gotta be bigger than Skyrim. It's huge, and that's great.

As for me, I basically only hit Skyhold after almost 25 hours - this is gonna be a big one, that's for sure. I want to save fully exploring some areas for other characters, but fully exploring on one? It would have to be scratching 100 hours.

Quick question for everyone - do we get a hilarious brothel in this one? I'll be really disappointed if we don't.

Why is that?

Yeah, I'm at 60 hours and I still haven't done the HIssing Sands (?), the Emerald Graves, the Fallow Mire, or Crestwood.  I still have five companion questlines to complete and I'm no where near the end of the main story.  So it's definitely possible that I'll reach 100 hours.

I am 33 hours in and I honestly think I will, if not it will be pretty damn close. Not to mention that I will most likely be doing a second playthrough.

As I find it hard to navigate to targets i will probably clock up 500 hours in no time...is it this way?...no maybe that way....around those rocks? ...no up further....no down again then do right....I do get to them eventually :D

But I am enjoying it...more so when we  can walk :)

As it looks, 100+ will be no problem at all.

Although I must agree to the poster above me that there are many time burners, like the ever annoying jumping stuff, because 90% of all seemingly worthwhile items are somewhere on rocks.

I exaggerate, I know, but man...I DO hate nothing more than jumping around, sliding down, jumping again, crippling my "mouse finger" to finally reach the top of a mountain for some cheap loot.

Not to mention this last shard in the Hinterlands... there should be martial law for bad AND mean level design.

I just finished the first big arc in the game, done with storm coast and a hefty chunk of hinterlands, just got my horse, forgot all about that, so after reaching skyhold, I'm at about 40 hours level 10...

But one of my favorite things to do in this game is to look at all the textures, the stonework on the floors and walls...I wish I had a free cam mode to take screenshots...

so yeah, I'll def hit 100 hours. Haven't done that since origins and battlefield 2.

The blacksmith vendor has a power re-spec amulet you can buy (first one is free, subsequent ones cost a bit of gold) and use to reassign all your skill points.  This will help if you (like me) leveled pretty far before unlocking the specialization quests.

I hope I will clock over 100 hours and I do plan a second playthrough immediately after this "main" one :D

I have no idea how far I am in the main plot however, can anyone tell me, without spoilers of course, that is there a lot left after both Wicked eyes wicked hearts and here lies the abyss?
