I've only got 10 hours to go to hit 100, and I've barely started the Hissing Wastes, not even stepped foot in Emprise du Lion, got a fair bit left in the Emerald Graves, Forbidden Oasis/Temple, Western Approach, plus a few (2 I think) main stories. So I'll get 100 easy.
Anyone thinking that they will reach the 100+ hour mark?

I tend to hop around to different areas instead of trying to complete everything in one area at a time. So there will probably be stuff I do in my second playthrough that I didn't do in my first one which makes the replay value that much better.
I think this is what I'll do, too. I might not even touch certain zones in my first play through that I'll get to see for the first time in my second play through. I think if I don't focus on a completionist play through right away it'll make the games insanely more replayable.
Before the game released, I couldn't imagine doing more than 2 playthroughs, but now I'm thinking I won't be playing another game for awhile...

I was somewhat embarrassed last night to see that I have already invested over 50 hours into this game, and there is still a TON of things I have left to do. What I find great about this game, and this is a huge testimony to the world BioWare has created, is the fact that I have yet to feel as if I need to push through the main story in order to keep the game interesting. There has only been a couple of main story missions I have done, and that was purely to open up the world a little bit more and discover new areas to explore.
At this point, I would be rather surprised if I finished this game in under 100 hours, and I have been enjoying every moment of it.

I'll easily hit 100+ hours in DAi. I have over 860 hours in Saints Row 3, 850 in Skyrim, and a lot in each of the Fallout series and Mass Effect. When I buy a game, I get every cent/hour I can out of it.

860 hours in Saints Row?
And here I was feeling a little apprehensive to state that I had played through Fallout 3 multiple times so I could see the difference between being good, evil, or neutral - and received my first platinum trophy from playing Skyrim to death. My second platinum... Fallout 3. lol

Though I've recently gone back to the beginning to start a DW Rogue. Just because people say it doesn't work, but so far I quite like it.

I am sort of confused on my playthrough because it is saying that I have over 100 hours in but there is no way that I have played that much. I just got to the Western Approach. I have put a lot of time in but now way that it is over 100 already. I am playing on Xbox One I typically leave by shutting the system down so when I return it is right where I left off without loading so I wonder if the game timer continues running during these times. Anyone else have this happen?

of course! My playthrough says 90 hours already, but thats a big fat lie. When you shut off you xbox and the game is running, leave it for awhile and turn it back on, you can pick up exactly where you left it, when you save it tracks all those hours. my 25-30 of time says its 90
I'm afriad i'll have "1000 hours" when i finsih my first playthrough

Probably, though I'm thinking of making a push through the main story since you can just do quest and exploration clean-up after. No reason to feel like I have to do everything before I beat the main story.

I'm unsure. I initially extrapolated 100+ on the basis of a three-act structure but my brother tells me there are only two acts so I'd say it's possible but unlikely.
From the looks of it, there's two acts, but the second is far bigger than the first.
I'm playing on Hard and I'm thinking I'll end up between 120 - 150 hours. The same amount of time I put into Oblivion and Morrowwind.

If i bother with the remaining zones yes, if not no. I'm at 76 right now and i feel its starting to drag on, much due to the lack of focus in storytelling besides the main story.

I've played around 50 hours, 30 for my main playthrough. Gettin' there.

Im already at 110 hours maybe 2hrs is just time ive left it on 3 if im generous , most story done think maybe 2-3 missions left and still need to complete 3 whole zones and two more at 75% done. Im completeing every zone completely.

Almost 44 hours in. Got to Skyhold about 4 hours ago.
I just can't help clearing missions!
I hate seeing things on a 'task list'....I just gotta clear them out.
So I'll probably easily go over 100.
I still haven't even tried killing a dragon yet.

As this is kind serie of games that i will come back to even after finished [ just like Elder Scrolls games, Might& Magic, Fallouts, Ultima etc.]main story/ side stories i think my core time to play Inquisition will be around 300 up to 400 hours [ of course not in one go, but maybe in 2 years for sure]. I love that kind of games, especially when they offers many different variants [even if just subtle] of story progression is just a sin to "complete" game once for any hard role playing fan
.
For now im role playing two totally different characters:
One is Elven mage, ugly as nightmare, evil as devil himself and sided with the mages faction, and he is totally ass, bloody, egoistic, demonic and homosexual - why not, its fantasy game only - right? Right? ...
.
Second is just good natured dwarven warrior, with pure heart, high morals, who wants to help poor people, drink ale and get a laid with Vivienne and heterosexual - just like true me
.
As you can see, just 100 hours is too low to get know both of them better. Not to mention as i know myself i will return after year or 3 to see how for example rogue class and another character will live in Thedas
.
Anyway despite all hate this game gets from some people [alongside with other new Bioware releases], as really old crpg and rpg fan [im in the rpg from 80's], i could call it one of best Bioware releases, worth the money. I hope for a expansions or dlcs , if mods are "no go" [really sad just look how great Skyrim is with mods, even for lore and hard crpg retard like me] .
Game may have some flaws but in overall it is masterpiece.
As for arguments and conflicts about homosexual and trans-sexual lgbt parts in the game. First they are really subtle both hetero and other, there is no any propaganda here.
Well im heterosexual, i have my own family wife and child , and im catholic too so should i be against??? Hell NO! .
Well, I know some gays and one lesbian in real life personally [they are Friends of mine too] and i must say one.
They are people just like You, they deserve same dignity, laws and treat like anyone else. I think that if someone truly loves other person and is just good, normal human, with great heart, it don't matters if He/She is heterosexual, gay, lesbian or transsexual. I don't even think of them as this or another orientation. Whole present day disscussion about who is who is just bullshit for me. We are all humans, and think that for a God we are all equal.
And in the end i want to say that David Gaider is very talented writer in my opinion, and whole Bioware just do great job. Keep the good work, don't care about haters [there are many people who just hate when see EA/Bioware logo] , and some crpg players that thinks your new games are just shallow and call for example ME series a shooter.
I like how You try to experiment with crpg genre and will support Bioware [and any other good crpg developer studio] to the end. Long live crpgs! Long Live Dragon Age & Mass Effect and other Bioware games!

I know I will. I am 50 hours in my first play through, and I have not touched the main story since I reached Skyhold. The only places I have been to are Hinterlands, Storm Coast, Fallow Mire, Exalted Plains, and Crestwood. Still quite a few areas I havn't touched yet.

I know about 60+ hours in atm, Possibly near the 70 hour mark and I have been playing non-stop since I got the game on the NA Midnight release. So, yes, I'm very confident I'll reach the 100 hour mark and beyond.

To answer the OP's question: It took me about 50 hours to get the point where the decision between Hushed Whispers and Champions of the Just became unavoidable. So, yes, this playthrough will take far in excess of a hundred hours. However, there only ever can be one first playthrough, so I'm taking my time and enjoying the hell out of it. Besides, I'll probably never again have the patience to explore every nook and cranny. The game is simply too huge for a good completionist hoovering to be possible in repeat playthroughs.
