After what seemed a eternity waiting for this game to be released, I was very upset when I found myself not liking it. But after forcing myself to play on, I have to admit it is starting to grow on me. I am actually enjoying myself.  :)

I do so hope that they hurry with the patch to help the feelgood along.  I really want to love this game so much.

Come on Bioware, I dare you to turn me around.  ;)

Stockholm Syndrome. :P

Just kidding. Glad you enjoying it and I too hope a patch fixes the outstanding issues soon.

I've been enjoying it also. The problem I have is not being able to decide which character to play, since I started one of each class.

After around 60 try's I discovered it impossible to create any form of female human that does not put you of your food.  So if you play as human, you need to go as male.  I have not tried other race's as yet.   :)

I have this same problem, unfortunately. I feel like I'm getting nowhere because one day I'll wake up and play my mage and by later that night I'll decide I'm in the mood for a melee character. Then the next day I will not have much time to really get involved, so I pick my archer that is behind everyone else and can just plow through content I've already experienced easily. And then when I feel like being a brutish arsehole to people, I pull out my horned giant warrior. I thought for sure I'd be playing my dwarf rogue first playthrough, but at this point it's anyones game!

Oh well, as far as problems go, I guess this is a good one to have at least.

The game is a slow burner...it takes a while to get into the story...now I feel like a crack addict sitting at work posting here wanting to play.  If you're on PC it doesn't help that the controls kinda suck and are tough to get used to.

The intro tries to get you right into the story with all the big stuff that happens,  but to me it really doesn't succeed because it just feels like "splosions and stuff happening".

Yeah, PC.  If they fix the controls, whack in some more hairstyles and tidy up the bugs we might have a really good game here.

Anyway it no longer feels like money down the drain as I am starting to feel it.

Genuinely curious, since you can control and spec every class, why roll a bunch of toons?

There's a psychological condition known as altohlism. It basically boils down to wanting to micromanage every aspect of ones experience, starting from character creation and ending sometime between then and a few hours after the tutorial, since that's about as far as people with this condition get.

Of course partially I'm joking but not really. I think people like this want too much control of what's going on, and that leads them to be disappointed because of things that just simply "happen", like bugs, death, bad choices, immersion being broken, I guess it could be any number of events. Then they reroll thinking it will all be different, this time.

It's a painful cycle. You just have to accept that your gaming experience isn't going to be perfect and soldier on. If you have to "force" yourself to do it. you're missing the point, the journey with all it's frustrating moments and random stuff that just hits you in the face is the beauty of it.

I'm enjoying the game to, but I can't seem to get past level 5 without wanting to try a different class or wanting to fix my characters busted face.  I swear the characters I make look decent in the creator, but eventually the light hits them wrong or I get an unflattering angle and I can't stand the look of him.  I've played through the first 2-3 hours of the game on Nightmare over 10 times at this point.

I like for them to add more dragons in the game. I killed 10 dragons. They offer the best material for making armor and weapons.

I like the game. Lots of stuff to do. My current playthrough is near 125 hours with only 3 main missions left.

I've enjoyed the game from the start, was totally hyped by it as soon as I saw Morrigan in one of the trailers. It was really hard to wait for so long :D

Anyhow, now I'm facing a different problem, it happens with handful of games I've ever played. The problem? I don't want the game to end :D I try to veer from the main story as much as possible in order to prolong the game, all while know that the end will come sooner or later. I just finished wicked eyes and wicked hearts and here lies the abyss, I have absolutely no idea how much main story I have left :/

Stupid, perhaps, but it happens with games I enjoy with all my heart. This is one of those games.

It was exactly the same for me, Greet. When I first started playing I felt discouraged and couldn't really find into the game... didn't want to give up on it, though, and I honestly haven't regetted it. Despite some flaws I am enjoying it massively right now! :wizard:

I think this is pretty close to being my problem with games like this.

Beyond my character needing to look and act in a certain organic way, the group dynamic also has to work out a certain way.  I create a ton of different classes because it's not about just having a good group composition, you can fix that with companions, it's about your characters role in the group being what it should be.  If I'm a Mage, for example, I'd better be powerful and feel like I'm holding my own, because throwing up a Barrier then running for my life is not what I envisioned for my Inquisitor, let a companion do that.

If my inquisitor is a Tank I feel like I'm not doing enough damage.  If I'm a Rogue I feel like I'm too frequently retreating.  If I'm a Mage I feel like I'm just there to support the real fighters.  I settled on a Rift Mage for now because it sounds like you pretty much control the battlefield and do some very solid damage, and I think that will be acceptable.

I like making unique fictional characters with a particular idea and background behind them with their own personalities. I have been making up stories and characters all my life. So outside of small adjustments, I do not completely change a character's playstyle on a whim. I reroll and create a new one.

Play it however is fun for you - if it is already fun, why change it?

Good to hear more positive opinions on these boards.

I love the game the moment I started playing. It's been more than a week and I just can't stop playing.

Don't think he/she was referring to the gender. More like what class to play.

I find myself with the same issue, of deciding between Archer and Mage, I have basically 10-15 hours on each class and still have problem deciding.

The problem with that is that I can actually ruin the game for myself doing this because it gets boring playing the same stuff with each class.

I really should just do one class and enjoy and progress in the game and get past the first part which I hear is more grinding.

Now this is a problem I also have with Bioware games.  You just don't want them to end, and when they do you go straight to the store page to check for DLC, giving you the excuse to play through again.   :)

30 hours and I am finding a connection with my extremely handsome human mage; (funny how the men are prettier then the lady's).  The story is pulling at my toes, and I am feeling friendship between my companions.

It looks like it may be a happy Christmas after all. :)

Really?

I think my Elfquisitor is gorgeous.

The key to a good face I find is to note down the settings before you save so you can easily recreate them making only the adjustments you want.

I made this Elf:

HEAD 3

General.4.3.8.26.5.14.1

Head.Y.M.B.M.M.L.H

Eyes.4.H.M.L.16.1.6.SE/M.WSW/N.

Nose.2.M.M.S.M.M.Q.L.U

Mouth.4.M.M.R.L.M.U.M.N.U.J

Scars.1.1.1.1.32.N/Y

Makeup.W/C.1.W/C.NW/A.1.Brown.W/C.1.NNW/O.2.NNW/O.2.N/K.1.

*(Note: Any 2D grid is marked as a 5x5 (25 point) grid in 5 rows A-Y and the colour wheel is noted as a compass direction, e.g. NW).

Then I checked the face very carefully in the Prologue - I went back and changed only Lip gloss and eye size.
