At this point, I don't even care anymore.
They could kill him off-screen, or put in him in some DLC as an NPC, or whatever.
Ultimate Sacrifice or killed offscreen, either way... "Weekend at Bernie's" DLC semi-confirmed!

Well, this has been a successful thread necro.
Can we leave my Warden alone? She's been through enough **** already.
My opinion;
Will Hero of Ferelden return? Depends. Will Warden-Commander return? Definitely. That's why there was a Warden-Commander whether Hero of Ferelden survives or not and Warden-Commander in fact plays an important role in DA story even in DAO:A only. He saves Anders, Justice/Vengeance, he kills the Eldest Dragon, he learns about the Avvar God Korth and even interacts with Korth's shrine and he learns the truth behind the Fifth Blight.
Three major characters of Dragon Age series are in fact three chosen ones of three major Gods.
Warden: Elgarnan / Korth :
First, let me remind you who are Elgarnan and Korth.
Elgarnan is the leading figure of Elven Pantheon, firstborn of Sun, the God of Vengeance and Justice deliverer. Also known as the god of fatherhood. The first and the oldest of Elven Gods. Punishes the guilty even if the guilty is his father (Sun). Elves invoke Elgarnan's name if they need something to be destroyed. In the Elven Legends, it is said once Sun, Elgarnan's father harmed Elgarnan's world and his people. Elgarnan got furious with his father and in retaliation he blew up the Sun (his father). How is Elgarnan related to Warden then? He is, in fact, related to Warden more than only one way. First of all, remember the Justice/Vengeance that Warden-Commander saved from the Fade. Anders later offers Justice to share his body with him in a similar way Flemeth once offered to share her body with Mythal. In DA2, Vengeance blows up the Chantry ( Chantry symbol = Sun) just like Elgarnan (the God of "VENGEANCE") blew up Sun. In some of the greeting one-liners of Cole, he says "she erased his memory so he doesn't remember what he did". Cole refers to Mythal and Elgarnan here. Justice/Vengeance doesn't remember his past, his true identity. So, Warden saved Justice and Anders just as Hawke saved Flemeth in a way. There are other signs as well. For example, Warden is the first one who could get past the Gauntlet and reach to the Sacred Ashes since the day Temple of Sacred Ashes was built. Cultists and mountain people could not get past the Gauntlet for thousands of years. There's also Leliana's visions of course. Leliana believed Warden was some sort of the chosen one and Maker wanted her to follow the Warden. Another interesting detail is that all the vessels of Justice/Vengeance are Grey Wardens. First Kristoff and then Anders. If their friendship levels are high enough, Anders tell Hawke in DA2 (after he blows up the chantry, if I remember correctly) that Anders needed to die for something greater. In DAI, Nightmare demon tells to Hawke (if Hawke romanced Anders) that Anders will die.
Korth , just like Elgarnan, is one of the three major gods of Avvar Pantheon. He is the first God Andraste prayed to. Leading figure of Avvar Pantheon. Just like Elgarnan, he punishes the guilty relentlessly. In fact, to do so, he tore out his own heart so his feelings dont get in the way of justice. He is the father figure just like Elgarnan. Alamarri people call him Korth the Mountain Father. They say Korth is as old as Frostback Mountains. Just like Elgarnan, Korth is the oldest God in his pantheon. Korth is either Elgarnan's Avvar counterpart or he is the Avvar name of the same being as Elgarnan. Each Dragon Age game focuses at one Avvar god at a point. In DAO: Awakening, Warden-Commander learns a lot about Korth. Vigil's Keep was built on a Shrine that was dedicated to Korth. Warden Commander can interact with the shrine and get Korth's blessing.
The most interesting part is here: Avvar believe some of their people are destined to be "reborn," i.e., the essence (the soul) returns clothed in new flesh. The core of the concept is thus: the souls of a few Avvar "favored" by fate "migrate" on death to inhabit new bodies destined for them, so they may return and perform great deeds for the good of their hold. These resurrected souls are not expected to remember their past selves consciously, but instead are assumed to be subtly "guided" by their previous experiences, especially through visions and portents. This is exactly what happens with Justice. Fate guides Warden to save Justice from the Fade because Warden is one of the bodies that was destined for Elgarnan.
Other than these, there are many indicators that we'll be playing as a Grey Warden protagonist in the next game. For instance, in the year Inquisition was founded (or one year before, can't remember precisely) a warden recruit finds griffon eggs and brings them to Weisshaupt. Eggs hatched and there are 13 Griffons in Weisshaupt now. Next game will feature riding a griffon, most probably. Also, there are news from Weisshaupt. t is most likely that the next game will take place in Anderfels. We may see the warden commander become the next First Warden and lead all the Grey Wardens of Thedas. Then there's "A Grey Warden's Journal" of course. At first I thought the man they are Orlesian Grey Wardens who are looking for Hawke's Grey Warden ally but then I realize they are in fact Grey Wardens of Ferelden. The writer of this journal is a female dalish Warden, probably Velanna. Makes sense, since Warden gave Velanna a journal in DAO:A. Remember that the Wardens of Ferelden disappeared even before Orlesians started to disappear. And We run into the Grey Wardens who were looking for Hawke's Warden ally and none of them were an elf so the writer of this journal cannot be Orlesian Grey Wardens. According to the elf who wrote this Journal, Fereldan Grey Wardens splint into two groups. One group is looking for a solution to the calling and the other one is looking for a specific warden, Anders most probably. Velanna hopes the other group finds a solution for the calling when they return. If the Warden romanced Morrigan, she says her love is on a quest to combat the calling. Fits to the journal. He leads the other group, naturally.
Hawke / Mythal / Lady of Skies:
Mythal: Mythal is another one of the three major gods of Elven Pantheon. In DAI, we learned that Flemeth carried Mythal's soul within her. In Elven Legends, Elgarnan and Mythal are said to be close. It is said, Elgarnan destroyed Sun, his father, because he thought Sun hurts his people and his world. Elgarnan only relents after Mythal's intervention. Just like Warden saves Justice, Hawke saves Flemeth by delivering the amulet to Merril's dalish clan. Actually this one is the most obvious one. For one, Remember what Flemeth said to Hawke if Hawke asks Flemeth to teach him/her shapeshifting. "We stand upon the precipice of change. The world fears the inevitable plummet into the abyss. Watch for that moment... and when it comes, do not hesitate to leap. It is only when you fall that you learn whether you can fly.". Remember that the quest where Hawke stays back in the Fade is named "Here Lies the Abyss". Now remember the scene where Solas absorbed Flemeth's soul. Right before that happens, Flemeth sends a soul to the Fade through the Eluvian. We see this scene whether she has the Old God Soul or not so she sends Mythal to the Fade. Flemeth did not pass Mythal to Morrigan even when she said she was willing to give her body in exchange of her son because Flemeth intended to pass Mythal to Hawke. Hawke, just like Flemeth was just before Mythal came to her, is desparately need someone to save him/her. Actually, an earlier trailer of DA2 has a massive spoiler about this. Watch the trailer where Hawke fights Arishok. Right before Hawke's eyes glow red and he conjures dragon arms out of air, his memory rewinds back to where Flemeth spoke to him about "here lies the abyss". Even DA2's symbol is dragon. So, it's obvious that Hawke will be Mythal's next vessel. Another interesting detail; after first playing DAI I thought Hawke was intended to be the Inquisitor and that was why he/she could only be human, later they cancelled this and created a new protagonist since both DA2 and Hawke were failures, but that logic collapsed when the Jaws of Hakkon DLC came out. The previous Inquisitor was an Elf. Then I realized that strangely, Mythal's vessels are only humans. Another interesting detail; if Hawke romanced Anders (who is the vessel of Elgarnan), she says that Anders betrayed her. Just like Mythal says she was betrayed. This is another sign.
Lady of the Skies: Lady of the Skies is the Avvar God of flying beasts. She is one of the three major Avvar Gods along with Korth and Hakkon. It is said a tribe who forsook Korth for the Lady were rescued by hawks and eagles sent by the Lady. Similarly Mythal is the god of the Dragons and flying beasts. Flemeth shapeshifts into bird forms usually. She shapeshifts into a giant bird to save the Warden in DAO, shapeshifts into crow to spy and shapeshifts into Dragon to fight. Lady is either Avvarian counterpart of Mythal or Avvarian name of the same being as Mythal. In DA2, Hawke can interact with a shrine dedicated to Lady of Skies and gets her blessings.
Inquisitor / Dread Wolf / Hakkon:
Dread Wolf is one of the three major gods of Elven Pantheon. Known as the trickster god. In DAI we learn that Solas is in fact Dread Wolf. The power orb that gives Inquisitor his/her mark. Solas leads Inquisitor, helps and guides him/her and during one of their conversations he tells Inquisitor that he/she is the most suitable person to have the Anchor. I don't think this needs any further explanation.
My opinion;
Will Hero of Ferelden return? Depends. Will Warden-Commander return? Definitely. That's why there was a Warden-Commander whether Hero of Ferelden survives or not and Warden-Commander in fact plays an important role in DA story even in DAO:A only. Wow, Anders the terrorist being a vessel for an old god?, it's just justice....
Wow, Anders the terrorist being a vessel for an old god?, it's just justice....
At this point anyone's a candidate in having a deity's soul in them: Sera, Anders, Meredith you name
Elgarnan is not an Old God. Elgarnan is an Elven God. What Elgarnan did is not that different from what Justice did. And Anders is a very talented mage. In DAO:Awakening if left behind at Vigil's Keep, he defends the castle almost single handedly with his powerful magic and hailed as a hero.
Besides, Flemeth/Mythal does all these things just for one thing: Revenge. If the one who betrayed her does not exist anymore then why would she even bother doing all these ? Who else could be the one Mythal wants revenge on, other than Elgarnan...
Elgarnan's personality in short : punish the unjust relentlessly, no matter who they are. Same can be said for Justice as well. It is soo obvious that Justice/Vengeance is Elgarnan... There are so many signs, indications and quotes that Justice/Vengeance is Elgarnan.
Sun harmed earth and its people, Elgarnan felt this was not just, blows up the Sun.
Chantry (symbol="SUN") harmed mages, Vengeance felt this was not just, blows up the Chantry (SUN).
Even before that;
Darkspawn harmed Amaranthine, Justice felt this was not just, had a great desire of destroying the darkspawns.
Also, all the vessels of Justice/Vengeance were Grey Wardens. After the explosion at the chantry, if Hawke's friendship level is high enough, Anders says that he will need to die for something greater. Similarly, in DAI Nightmare Demon tells Hawke that Anders will die if Hawke romanced Anders. Another indication was within one of the dialogue lines between Inquisitor and Hawke. If romanced Anders, Hawke says Anders betrayed her/him.
Text below will seem familiar with Justice/Vengeance's situation. Justice didn't have his memory, slowly regains. Especially if you remember DAO: Awakening Ending Slides, you'll get what I mean. In one of them, Justice looks at the sun and says "now I know what I need to do". Justice was guided by his previous experiences and met Warden. Warden saved Elgarnan just like Hawke saved Mythal. As Mythal says, it was not luck but it was fate.
Avvar believe some of their people are destined to be "reborn," i.e., the essence (the soul) returns clothed in new flesh.
Solas and Cole also talks about Elgarnan, though they don't mention his name of course. Solas tells stories of Fade to Inquisitor and two of them are about Elgarnan and one of them is about Flemeth. Some of Cole's greeting lines are also about Elgarnan.
Solas;
-He tells of a time when he met a very old spirit. He asked the spirit his name, the spirit said he had none because people forgot the meaning of his name. He mentions Justice/Elgarnan of course.
-He tells of a king who rules over all other kingdoms. Elgarnan is known as the king of Elven Pantheon. A king aboe all.
Cole:
-Cole says He doesn't remember anything. She erased his memory so he doesn't remember what he did. This is a reference to Justice not being able to remember anything about him and his past.
Then there's what Morrigan says in Witch Hunt. She gives hints about future events. She says two important things:
1) Flemeth is no blood mage, no abomination not even entirely human, so much more than what she seems to be. We saw this part in DAI. She has the soul of Mythal in her.
2) Flemeth is linked to Blight in some way. I think we will learn about this soon. How, is the question here. Through Warden-Commander's quest to combat the Calling, I think.
There are some very obvious similarities between DA characters/deities and heroes/Gods from Norse Mythology. Like;
Fenris and Fenrir Wolf. Even their names are similar. Fenris means the litle wolf. In mythology, Fenrir is a wolf that was in chains. Not so dissimlar to Fenris.
Fenharel and Loki. Loki is the trickster god, just like Fenharel. Both Gods of Asgard and Frost Giants count Loki one of them. In a similar way, bot Elven Gods and Forgotten Ones (Titans) count Fenharel as one of them.
Inquisitor and Heimdall. Heimdall is well respected and controls the gate between world of mortals (Midgard) and the world of immortals (Asgard). Inquisitor has the anchor and in a way, he can control the gateway between Thedas and Fade.
Warden and Thor. Thor is the protector of the World in Ragnarok. Warden protects the world from destruction by defeating the Archdemon, "saved the f***ing world" as Blackwall puts it. Thor has a legendary weapon that was once boldly stolen from him. Warden-Commander had Master Wade craft a legendary weapon (Vigilance) from the bones of Eldest Dragon, that was boldly stolen from him/her later. That weapon had its own epilogue slide.
Mythal's Serpent form and Midgard Serpent. Midgard Serpent is the Earth Serpent, it is said it was born from the Earth. Just like Mythal. In Elven Legends, it is said Elgarnan was the firstborn of Sun but Mythal was born out of the Earth. Thor is Midgard Serpent's arch enemy. Dragon Cultists calls Warden "their lady's" worst enemy.
At this point anyone's a candidate in having a deity's soul in them: Sera, Anders, Meredith you name
Sera is just idiot, Mr.Alahu ackbar have/Had a spirt inside him and Meredith was consumed by the red lyrium....
Even before that;
Darkspawn harmed Amaranthine, Justice felt this was not just, had a great desire of destroying the darkspawns.
Solas and Cole also talks about Elgarnan, though they don't mention his name of course. Solas tells stories of Fade to Inquisitor and two of them are about Elgarnan and one of them is about Flemeth. Some of Cole's greeting lines are also about Elgarnan.
Solas;
There are some very obvious similarities between DA characters/deities and heroes/Gods from Norse Mythology. Like;
Fenris and Fenrir Wolf.

That's a lot to think....
Given that even if BioWare was to bring HoF back in some way, I'm 100% certain that every fan who wanted the HoF to return will be crying:
"Bioware ruined the HoF for not respecting my choices in DA:O or not letting me have sex scene with my favorite LI, or not letting me customise the character's look and voice! I will never buy another game from them again and I'm leaving this board forever!"
Then they will return when the next Dragon Age game comes out or when ME:A comes out and the cycle will start all over again.
Well, this has been a successful thread necro.
Can we leave my Warden alone? She's been through enough **** already.
