Why is it wet inside houses Caves etc when its raining outside.

I can undestand where its a bad roof.

But this is in sooo many places, Even a merchant standing under his tent was soaked.

Or why are ppl sitting out side in the rain drinking beer infront of the fire;)

Just plain weird.

I really hate that in Crestwood. It is wet everywhere.  Every person, every furniture, just everything is wet inside massive buildings. Even inside libraries EVERY book is wet, just because it is raining outside. That is sooo anoying!

They are using pre-baked wet character models and objects in Storm coast and Crestwood....Everything is pre-baked...Everything will look wet in these 2 areas...

I kinda read the title as being about wet bugs raining from the sky...

It's really a bad way of doing things. It shouldn't be raining and wet inside every building.

Actually, they're not.

It won't be raining if you load a saved game in that area (you can actually see the different stages for the shader they're using to make things look wet), and there are places where the rain bugs out (it just stops) and the surface shaders get turned off (everything reverts to looking dry).

Yes, it bothered me too. All the roofs are illusions. You can actually see it rain inside.

Don't get me wrong, I thought the weather effects were good, but this is a pretty basic thing in games now and I cannot recall a title where this was a problem. I am sure someone noticed it, but it was deemed not worth fixing.

I know it's totally a different kind of game but it was something the Sims series struggled with and it took them a few expansions in to both Sims 2 and Sims 3 to get weather. In Sims 2 they couldn't figure out how to make it not rain or snow inside, when the expansion came out, roofing worked very differently.

I DO appreciate the weather effects and how my inquisitors clothing looks wet/damp too. But everything inside being wet bugged me.

Yes, it's jarring and I hated it. There is water running down the stone bust of Empress Celine (Therinfall redoubt) in rivers but there's no water falling on it and it's in a first floor sealed room of a two story building. There's water running down book shelves in Crestwood, it's so distracting.

The wet shader is a bit off yes. I thought it particularly bad in Storm Coast, where everything not only looked wet, but mde of some hard, shiny substance like driftwood, wet. I got over it though..

Yeah, this is a problem and it irks me every time I see it in game. Also, in the Storm Coast, we can see lightning flashes in caves. No bueno.

I just love this rain and wet map. It's atmospheric!

"It was a dark and rainy night..."

The dry and dark atmosphere in The Hissing Wastes and the fairy tale sorrounding Emerald Graves is also extremely well made.

I thought it made sense that the place was rundown and, basically, bad really leaky roofs.

It's really shocking that Bioware was not able to add dynamic weather effects in DAI lol.. Frosbite 3 can't do real time weather effects ? :o

GTA V, a lastgen game had stunning dynamic real time weather effects

here

This is how you do rain in games....

It stopped raining in Crestwood and I looked at the books in the Mayor's home again. How curious, they are actually dry now.

So it seems they have a simple code: it rains, make everything on this map look wet - it doesn't rain, make everything on this map look dry. Very convenient. :(

I'd love it if Bioware put more attention to detail to things like this. That would be great.

It makes me wonder if the Beta tested this game at all. They make a game about details, you change your Eyes and nose to the perfect millimiter, But when it rains and gets wet it goes everywhere.;)

I think this is one of those things that they probably intended to fix but ran out of time. Let's hope it's addressed in a patch.
