I'm a new player and have a few general questions. Not sure where to post it so hope this is ok.

1. I read that there are special classes for characters like Templar for Cassandra and Artificer for Varric but I'm not seeing those options.

2. With attribute points, are we able to choose those manually when we level up or does the AI do it for you? If I remember right, in DA: Origins you chose what category to spend ur points in like dexterity or strength.

3. I'm not seeing options for choosing things like lockpicking under abilities anywhere. I'm in the first mission after Haven so i'm early game.

1. Those open up after you get to skyhold. Around lvl 10ish.

2. When you spend points in your skill tree they come with attribute points added to the skills you get.

3. IDK thos one. I have not playeda rogue.

1:  They show up after you reach Skyhold (Don't know if it's triggered by Skyhold specifically though)

2.  There are no attribute points to choose from, you can get more in different ways though.

3.  There is an inquisition perk that involves lockpicking.

:)

Lockpicking is an inquisition perk you can get. After you upgrade the perk then all rogues in the party can lock pick any door.

Another ? I have

1. How does Shield Wall ability help??? It sounds good and it came with Cassandra so I went ahead and added another point to the extra ability that went with it. But when I see it in action, Im not seeing the benefit. She just stands there with her shield up and isn't able to attack or anything. It doesn't seem to help my other teammates either. I also found that the AI doesn't seem to use that ability unless I manually switch over to her and use it.

When I read the desciption, I thought it sounded good and that My main player should add it since I made him a warrior.

I just read the description again and what I'm thinking is that by her holding down shield wall, and if the opponents hit her, it will add those silver blocks to her health bar which i'm guessing is "guard?"

Shield Wall block incoming attack from the front and add guard to the Warrior based on the damage it should have received. With the upgrade it also add 30% armor to party members around the warrior in a 4 meter radius. When it block a melee attack, it cause a recoil to the attack (quite useful against Defenders makes them lose their footing and they can't block).

My main character is a warrior. Would you guys recommend me add a point to shield wall with him?

When do you guys use shield wall? Since the you can't attack while using it, the only thing I can think is when maybe a long range attacker is attacking you and to then use it to block and make your way to the enemy.

Also, it seems I have to manually use the character to use shield wall because not one time when im not switched on to the character have I seen the AI use shield wall.

My AI Cassandra use shield wall once in a while, I set it to preferred and set her "don't use active when stamina reach X" at 0.

Shield Wall is rather useful to cause Defenders (guys with tower shield) to stagge, allowing you to hit them without them blocking anything. Less or more taunt them and wait with shield wall up for them to hit you and then less them feel the pain.

Also, Shield Wall protect against most dragon attacks: reflect spit, bit, slam, etc and gain insane guard amount from breath attacks. A Weapon&Shield Warrior is almost immortal vs a dragon unless you screw up.

ok so i should add shield wall to my main character??

during conversations, there seems to be places that are blacked out. it seems like if i had some stat high enough, that it would give me more talking options but instead its blacked out. i don't know of any stat that raises my speaking ability. am i right that there are talking options blacked out because some stat of mine isn't high enough??? if so, how do i raise it or unlock speaking options that are blacked out?

thank you
