Hello folks!

I was wondering if you all might be able to suggest a 1H warrior build for me.  I'm trying to create something like I used in DA:2 wherein even though I used a sword/board warrior, he was built as a DPS machine and would jump from target to target.  It was a ton of fun, quick paced, and I never really felt like I was lacking in health or DPS.

With DA:I, I've had a difficult time trying to recreate this character and was hoping you might be able to help.

Thanks!

I'm still on my archer playthrough, but if you are looking for ideas I'd suggest taking everything from SnS tree unupgraded, the only upgrade to take is Payback Strike. And after that, everything from Reaver. Stack + healing items as much as you can. Then it becomes a careful management of health and cycling of Payback Strike Dvour and Dragon Rage in the Ring of Pain :))

After you are finished with the basics, you may want to check out the Battlemaster tree for the stamina passive, the critical passive and the combat roll(for getting out of sticky situations) .

I somewhat agree with xelander - at least in so far as you should be looking at Sword/Shield and Battlemaster.  If you're going for an all attack build, though, you don't need most of the abilities on the left side of Sword/Shield.  The way the trees seem to be set up, one side usually contains offensive perks and abilities, and the other is typically defensive.

Payback strike, Turn the Bolt, Lunge and Slash I'd definitely recommend.  You'll probably want Turn the Blade too for extra resistance.  Up to you if you want to go for Warrior's Resolve and Shield Bash - though, I'd suggest getting those later on.

Battlemaster - get Grappling Chain, and Combat Roll relatively early.  It's up to you which side to take early on - whichever you feel will help you out most.  Give Them the Boot is a must when you have a chance to take it.  That way you can stun an enemy that was giving you trouble, and take the time to get away, or set yourself up to get a good attack off on him.  Feel free to take as many of these abilities as seem appropriate to you.  At a glance, they all look beneficial.

As for specializations, I'm not so familiar with the Warrior ones - but from what I can tell based on my builds for Bull, Blackwall and Cassandra; you may very well want to go Reaver.  Focus on the right side.  Those are abilities which don't rely on you losing a lot of health - since you are going to be focussed on strength, you're not going to have a lot of health to begin with.  When you have those taken care of, and you're satisfied with the abilities you've taken in SnS and Battlemaster, go on and take Blood Frenzy so you can get Terrifying Fury.  I would not recommend taking Dragon-Rage, just because you don't want to bring yourself to low health, thinking you're going to do massive amounts of damage; and then someone hits you with a lucky arrow and kills you.

Strike fast, dodge around attacks, and keep your health up would be my main suggestions.  But that's just me.  Never actually tried a build like this, but I'll admit it sounds like a lot of fun.  :)

Just a note: Give them the boot is bugged and doesnt actually stun/
