Maybe it's just because the Masked Empire built them up SO much for me, but this main mission involving the three of them was surprisingly short and disappointing? I expected my Inquisitor to get more out of this and to have a LOT more information before deciding the fate of the freaking Orlesian Empire.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it and it was an entertaining and interesting look into the Orlesian nobility but I was still expecting more chaos and intrigue and depth to this civil war fiasco, especially since it's a main plot quest?

Was this supposed to be longer and more in depth?

I liked the quest because they were a break away from the kill this kill that, even though i was lost in the garden for an hour. But you are right, when you get to the end i was really disappointed in the options i had and what was given. Maybe the options change depending on what you discover. But i was still disappointed.

idk - with the sheer number of things and twists I found that it was long enough  - yeah, to decide the fate of the empire there is nowhere near enough info - but If you went through in a completionist mindset and talked to everyone, you can build a general idea of what kind of ruler each of them are -  Also, i think that was the whole point as well - even in a convo with your inner circle the inquisitor specifically asked how can he choose a ruler for the empire based on what little knowledge he has - makes it a really big decision - that line right there made it real for me - so i really did what I could to choose the best.

Cant expect a single  quest to be even remotely cose length wise to an entire book , it was one of the best quests for me , i enjoyed being part of the grand game .

The only thing that made me side frown was there weren't enough Hallas to open every door.

Cop out tactic to force another play through but I predict the last two doors are just loot doors so meh.  I got all the plot/black mail ones.

Also I conned all three of them into working together, but Solas apparently thought I killed Brianna in his dialog after, so that made me sidefrown as well.

I would have preferred to exposed them all to the court and taken over the empire.

I had Celene keep ruling, had Gaspard 'killed' and made Briala and Celene reconsile... which I am disapointed in how EASY that was. Briala, did you forget what this woman did to your people? To you? But sure, you find out she's still got a locket and you suddenly forget all that?

Celene made Briala Marquis of the Dales and I am NOT gonna lie, that was something I wasn't expecting and most likely a bit OP. Celene, you literally just won a civil war maybe 5 minutes ago. I agree that things NEED to progress and change with the elves, but considering this partially started BECAUSE there were rumours of you and Briala swimming around, what the hell is THIS gonna do?

It seems despite all my efforts to blackmail all three of them it is not the best option and I don't even believe it works as it seems rather bugged atm. After uniting all of them via outplaying them the news that was spread was that Celene had won and Solas seems to think I killed Briala. In the epilogue slides it doesn't sound good as Brialla isn't mentioned and Gaspard is apparantly just waiting for a chance to take over so back to the beggining I suppose.

Also in this epilogue slide wiki it says there is a better way of doing things with nobles being in support of the alliance with the Inquisition... I HAD 98 APPROVAL at the damn end of the quest?!? Even did the war table quests with success and yet my Inquisition apparantly didn't curry favour with the nobles....

Also I am really disappointed in the epilogue slides as not one mention of me completing every goddamn side-quest meaning all those regions I saved and brought back to life are not acknowledged. I mean how hard is it to make one slide saying the Hinterlands are prospering or Crestwood is doing well? This was one thing Dragon Age: Origins did well such as some boy I saved going on to being a great adventurer thanks to me giving him his fathers sword (granted too many were from just Redcliffe) Anyway the epilogue slides were a bit meh but I still really enjoyed the game.

I never understand why alot of great games taper of near the end as that is what leaves the final impression no? For example up until the ending of me3 I would've given the game a 10/10 but after the choice of colors it became 7.5/10. Just started playing Far Cry 4 and realised my main gripe might be that I find Coryfish far too 2d or just boring whereas characters like Vaas or Pagan Min command your attention when they appear. Or from Biowares own history Loghain or Master Li who had interesting twists or reasons other than I am evils for the evils. If they wanted someone for chaotic evil they needed him to appear more and be more of a threat.

Ah anyway this has become way way too long so venting over :P
