Initially I couldn't get Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar or The Stone Prisoner to start but after following the method posted at the start of this thread it now all works fine; here's a detailed plan of what I did:

01. Go into Docs\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Characters and back up your characters (put the folders somewhere else until later).

02. Manually download all the dazips needed (the DLC, patches and the "offer" dazips associated with them, it causes them start properly whilst playing), put them in a folder by themselves and rename them to "dazip" if necessary.*

03. Take the PC off the internet, so there are no downloads being attempted from the in-game installer whilst carrying all this out.

04. Uninstall the previous install and clean out all remaining folders (Docs\\Bioware).

05. Perform a clean install of DA:O (still off the internet).

06. Go to daupdater.exe (Program Files\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship) and install all the downloads (DLC and offer dazips).

07. Before starting the game, re-connect to the internet.

08. Start the game, let all the DLC become "enabled" but do not try to play it yet.

09. Download any other content you might have missed, one at a time; let it install and enable.

10. Exit the game and the internet and install patch 1.04 (it seems to be the thing to patch it last). If you haven't installed DA:Awakening and intend to later, remember to run the patch again afterwards.

11. Put your character back-ups, back in Docs\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Characters.

12. Start the game and load a save that's just before leaving "Lothering".

13. Leave "Lothering" and enter the camp and then the Map to check the locations are all there.

14. Go back to the main screen and check all the other DLC: WH, GoA, LS and DA:A.

15. Come out of the game and install any unofficial mods via daupdater.exe or whatever you wish.

16. Go back into the game and load your save of choice and enjoy.

If you're looking for any other DLCs try going to your account, under "profile" and "your registered game promotions", search around the forums or you could try one of the Moderators.

As a final note, I don't know if this will work out for everyone but it certainly did for me and a big time thanks to the Moderators and everyone who posted on this thread before me, if not for them I'd still be crying into my keyboard...

I have an issue that is not listed here, although I don't know if this is the correct place to mention this.



One of the DLCs (the Feastday Pranks one) says that it is downloading on the downloads bar, but it has not moved in days. I also cannot restart the download - it just appears to be in limbo.



Any ideas on how to fix this?

Bah, the issue im having is sometimes i have access to DLC and sometimes i dont. Im logged in, i go to other content and see the full list, but then it wont let me start my load because it says 'This save includes content.. please log in to have access'. On the other hand, i had assumed it had been downloaded since ive played the DLC while not being logged in. Major head ****

I am having the exact same problem. Bought it from EA web store as well.

Just wanted to inform that I solved the "DLC's Unauthorization" problem with  "restarted the content updater in services.msc":wizard:

All the DLC's are now Authorized, EXEPT Witchcraft (Origins) and Witchcraft (Awakening) . I decided to not go into the matter anymore, but if any of you have any idea why these two DLC's are still Unauthorized, I would be happy to hear it.

The EA Live Chat agents that I spoke with yesterday didn't provide any help. The first one told me to uninstall the game and reinstall it. I asked him if I needed to download the whole package again. He said no. After 5 minutes, he told me that I have to download it all again. Thank you.
The second agent asked me to...uninstall and reinstall.

It seems like gamers on forums like these are more competent than people who actually get paid for "helping" the players.
How come no agents suggested trying the services.msc fix, since it has proven to work for some people on this forum?

I still got the same Issue with my unauthorized (i am steam user in this case) funny thing is, that my blood dragon armor and stoneguard prisoner are authorized if i am not logged in, after logging in, it is unauthorized. My BSN account still got those DLCs and my games are activated.

When i start the dao-content updater it says "content updater has started, then stopped. programs stopps when it is not needed" or something similar (native tongue is german on my side but the game is running in english).

Tho other funny fact is, it has worked and sometimes it does work without problems.
Any suggestions?

Tho another funny thing, i can play the game (while logged in) without my DLCs, but my DLCs are all marked. Tho i don't have any of my DLC items. at least it is playable. I checked my regedit and dao content updater path like JackM suggested, but it all seems right.

Did anyone here install the 1.04 patch? After I installed it, not only did my installed DLC start appearing as "Unauthorized" but the new DLC I bought couldn't even be installed - not even manually. When I uninstalled and reverted back to 1.03, everything re-appeared as normal.

Manually starting the updater also solved my problem. I still believe the problem was related to the 1.04 patch, but I can play now, and that's what counts.

I have a problem with the DLC.. When I click on the "Downloadable Content"-button nothing shows up at all, not under available content, not under download progress and not under installed content. I do have BioWare points over AND have bought Wardens Keep.. I have searched for answers in the forum but have found none. Does anyone have an idea of what is wrong?

Have you checked if your dlc is authorised at this end.

When signed into your account, highlight 'Profile' then click on 'Your registerd game promotions' to list all your authorised dlc.

If this is ok then it is likely that your game is not communicating with your account - as above it is most likely DAUpdater not working correctly....see here - section 5:

That's what my guess is, that the DA content updater isn't working all the time. This morning, it were all fine, all my DLCs are authorized and i could enjoy it to the fulles, but just now, every DLC except Awakening, is unauthorized.

Another thing that happened, dunno if its connected with the dlc sometimes getting unauthorized, but my chestpiese of my blood dragon armor vanished, i can buy all the other stuff, but the chestpiece is gone now

This worked for me.

Go to My documents\\\\ Bioware\\\\ Dragon Age\\\\ Settings

and Rename your Profile.Dap to - Profile.bak.

This way your force Dragon Age to make a new Profile.Dap, which is writable.

Start the game, and log in to your profile, see if it helps.

Hey guys,

After several attempts to fix my DLC issues I've run DAUServiceDiagnostic_beta and it told me that my DAO key is missing. So I've checked and realized that I've only the key for Awakening. Can someone tell me how can I reinstall my missing key for DAO with a digital version? Reinstalling the game definitely doesn't work. I've seen the troobleshooting explainng how to do so with the installation CD but I've no clue how to do it with the EA download manager.

AAAAHAHAHAHHA! I LOOOOVE! the OP!! I FINALLY, after a month of not being able to use my DLC, have gotten them to work, thanks to the FAQ posted here =D! Turns out, my particular issue was with the "Offers.xml" file being corrupted and not being able to be overwritten when manually installing the Sulcher's pass, return to ostagar, and honnleath DLC. I ended up deleting the file, re-installing the offers, and BAM! problem solved.... THANK YOU OP SOOOO VERY VERY VERY MUCCCCCHHHH! I'll buy ya a case of your fav beer mang =)

Hi, I absolutely need help! I read the post 2 times but didn't find an answer. I have bought the "Witch Hunt" DLC today, but I can't play it because when I try to start it in the game, it says that I need to log in with my account...But when I try to do it, the games says that there isn't any internet connection. But my internet connection is ok! I tryed to turn off the firewall, but it seems to don't work. Can someone help me? thanks in advance..

Bingo! After running through everything on the FAQ's about this long time item ... that finally did it. Thanks for pointing that one out.
