After I installed patch 1.04 I bought lelianas song and darkspawn chronicles. I downloaded and installed as instructed from the dazip. Start the game open up downloadable content and it shows them as downloading... game required is 1.03 thats marked in red and my dl is failing. Can you please fix this issue asap? I would hate to reinstall the game just to be able to play my new content.

I solved the problem by reinstalling all dlc.. Thanx for the help eagames...

My problem.
Levi again in camp to give me the Warden’s Keep Quest.
The quest closed and again see in the process list and the closed list.
The Warden’s Keep Quest and The Stone Prisoner missions looks active on the map. All played until ends.

(patch 1.04 and not installed DAO: Awakening)

The biggest threat for those DLC illegal activites are done via torrentz.com, tracked them down and guess what there are over 2000 posts of those pirates, loving to ruin this game, already took care of blizzards and ea's trouble with them and now they are starting up here? When do they realize that people do not want piracy stuff ruin this game, i agree they have to buy the game, Reloaded had a copy made, sitting now in jail he is harmless, but that does not change the fact pirates still use illegal corrupted dlc and hacks to ruin the game. As for reïnstalling it tried also look in technical support for a topic of mine explaining the damage done to the game, by pirates with fake dlc like blightblood dlc for origins i got it in unauthorized, however i downloaded it from Bioware Registered Promos of my account. Only i reviewd as For Awakening Only. Also instant crashing the game.

Shale's Rock Barrage ability is broken in 1.03 and 1.04. The ability activates but does nothing. The visual component of Shale throwing rocks into the air occurs, but nothing else (i.e. no damage to enemies). Stamina is expended but ability resets almost immediately where in combat or not.

This behavior was introduced in the 1.03 update and not addressed in 1.04.

I have started two games and both times I have had downloaded content disappear. The first time I lost RTO and SP and Blood Dragon, and Starfang. The second time I only lost RTO so far as I have not completed either game. In both these cases, I lost these items after completing those quests. So far no problem with Shale. I have checked all your suggestions and they have cleared on my system. I even tried the console thing and could not get it to work. Mystery to me why it didn't work, but afterwards, I found I had to reinstall my keys. I think this problem has gone on too long even though I am new to the PC version after playing XBox ump-twenty times. I like the PC version better but I am very discouraged by what is happening to the game so far and not enjoying it as it should be. This should be addressed by EA or Bioware as it reflects poorly on their product. People are paying for stuff that they can't use. That is not right. One should not have to do a dance in the dark to get this stuff to work. The game should have worked in the first place. Players should not have to venture into areas of the games that are way above their level of expertise and still find that the stuff doesn't work. Calling Perry Mason.

I've been searching around for my particular bug, but it doesn't seem that I can find it. Well here it is.

First of all, let me say that the original campaign works fine, i just beat it my second time last night before buying Awakening.

This is actually a trouble that i've had for quite a while now with my DLC. After downloading Leliana's Song and Darkspawn Chronicles, I was eager to start them. But both of them seemed to have some glitch with their AI. My companions would not attack or use any abilities, my controlled character would only attack once before stopping, and my enemies and allied npcs would simply stand there, not attacking or using abilities. Not really doing anything.

And now after downloading Awakening, i've found that the same thing has happened with it. It's game-breaking for me, and I doubt that I will return to the game after spending $30 on the expansion, and having it not work, if this isn't resolved.

For the record, i'm using the Steam version. But they're no help over there, so I came here in hope that it could be resolved here.

Can someone please help?

First, I don't want to appear rude or whiney or whatever, but I am so very frustrated by how DLC works in this game, so bear with me.

I have the problem with DLC being flagged as unauthorized. I have actually had this problem once before on another computer. I didn't think it would happen again, but yesterday it did. Since I hadn't played the game for a while, I decided to buy and download the available DLC. That went fine and I played a bit of Darkspawn Chronicles with no problems. A couple of hours later, I decided to continue the main campaign, clicked continue and was informed that all my DLC was now unauthorized. Literally, all of it.

Now, I know abot the DAO: Content Updater in Services and have made sure that it's running properly. The DLC is linked to my account. I'm running Dragon Age: Origins Deluxe on Steam (Windows 7, 64 bit), so it is up to date. DAO: Awakening is also installed.

What am I supposed to do now? I literally bought the DLC yesterday and now I'm not allowed to use it. Why hasn't this been patched and fixed? What's really odd to me is that the DLC for ME2 (another Bioware/EA game) doesn't have any of these problems and works fine.

Help!

Edit: I found this, but haven't tried it yet. It does sound like an overly elaborate way to solve something, but maybe it works. Does it mean that I have to repeat this process every time I want to play? If that's the case, I'd rather just delete the bloody thing.
  • Shut down Dragon Age: Origins
  • From the Windows desktop, click the Start button, then select Run
  • At the command prompt, type "net stop DAUpdaterSvc" and click OK
  • Navigate to My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings and delete the files Manifest.xml, Offers.xml, and addins.xml
  • Navigate to My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age and delete the Offers folder
  • Go to C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Application Data\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\ and deleted the DAUpdater folder (where C: is the default directory)
  • Navigate back to My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age and delete the folder called AddIns
  • Return to the command prompt (click Start, then Run) and type "net start DAUpdaterSvc" before clicking OK
  • Restart Dragon Age: Origins and log in

After the game launch and before clicking on resume or load, try the following:
1. from main menu, check that you are logged in then select Downloadable Content
2. if you see your DLCs on a green background, continue to step 7
3. wait for Point Balance to be updated
4. close panel
5. click again Downloadable Content
6. this time you should see your installed DLC on a green background and the Points Balance in update mode again
7. wait for Points Balance to be updated
8. close panel and load your saved game.
You
only have to proceed this way on your first savegame load after DA:O
launch. Once this is done, you can directly load savegames during the
same session.

I just installed the GoA DLC, but I cannot play it as it said I had not installed the Patch 1.04. However, I already installed 1.04 patch. I actually installed that patch again but I still cannot play the GoA DLC because it continues said that I don't have patch 1.04.

I think I somehow solve that problem myself. It is the problem of the non-dvd patch I patched. Sorry for troubling you guys.

Thanks.  That seemed to clear it up for me.  I had a game crash to desktop tonight, then suddenly got the DLC not authorized error.  Logged out and in, didn't fix it.  Looked up the service, restarted it, didn't fix it.  Saw the "play offline" idea and that worked for a while.  But I was still just annoyed why it didn't work normally.  Then I just did that refresh points balance thing, and once that finished updating, my other DLC was authorized.

Are you kidding me? I buy extra content. I play for hours, and suddenly lose my items. I come here and find out that the only way to fix this is to use the developer console to hack my own game? How about a nice note when you download saying "we suggest you play the game not logged in"? Or better yet, fix YOUR bug.

I was really happy with Dragon Age until now, but if this is the way they handle DLC and their games then DAII won't be on my to-buy list.

By "here", you are actually aware of where you are, right? You actually read the name and description of this place? We aren't the arbiters here are what is or what is not any "only" way to do something. EA has that responsibility, not us! All we can pass along is what we have learned as other game players.

Try to start the Dragon Age Updater service prior to game launching. For this, open Windows main menu, select Run..., type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then, in the Services window, look for Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater service. Right-click on this service and select Start in the contextual menu. Once the service has started, close the Services window and re-launch the game.

Once the game has launched, select Downloadable Content and follow the progress of your DLC download under Download Progress tab.

I have gotten this issue and followed all the steps given already, the first ones ended up deleting the content from my game period and i had to reinstall it. But now i am back to the same thing, it says i am Unauthorized to use the content and wont load my saved file because of that. I've already sent a message about it, and gotten the same suggestions at least twice now with no results. Is there anyone who knows how this can be fixed and what causes it? I probably should have checked the game first before updating to 1.04, but i know when i first got the game the content worked fine.

Dont know, it seems to be the collectors edition that is causing problems, in my DLC page it shows: Warden's Keep, Collectors Edition, and Stone Prisoner as being unauthorized. Embri's Many Pockets, Blood Dragon Armor, and Amulet of the War Mage are all authorized. Though if it was the Collectors Edition causing problems then all of the content should be unauthorized .

Ok that is rediculous, all that nonsense about needing to be logged into an account which owns the DLC is crap. I just tried logging out of my profile again, when i went to check the DLC page it showed none as unauthorized, so i tried loading my game again. This time it allowed me, while being fully logged out. So i can play the game, but i cant save any achievements or anything online.

I like you all have had the same issue with DLC’s being unauthorized and can’t load a game because of this. I have tried every single conceivable option suggested in the very first post on this thread. Or at least the ones I can understand how to do anyway without screwing things up worse. Nothing has worked short of installing and reinstalling the game which I refuse to do as I don’t want to lose what I have gained so far. (at least not yet anyway) I started having this problem before I installed the 1.04 patch.

I did discover something interesting though. It seems that if I log in at the main menu at go into a game that is when everything becomes unauthorized and can’t get in. However if I log in while in active gameplay, then resume game any new achievements seem to go through to my profile. I have also gotten out of a game while logged in this way and it shows my DLC content as active. This might be something to try if you have not already.

Although I cannot get Lel’s song authorized as I had to manually download it to my computer. So looks like any new DLC’s have to be enjoyed on my xbox console.

So if you have tried everything like myself has perhaps the login suggestion above will help you. This is the only way I can get up character profiles to update and my existing DLC’s authorized. I wish I could be of more help and had more answers, for I know many, many folks are just as frustrated as I am. Am at a loss of what to do and will just deal with it I guess.

Guys I need assistance and would be very grateful if someone come help me out.

To cut a long story short, I now have a list of DLC's in the Download Progress section in the game, all of which I've purchased and all of them have come up "Install Failed".

On that same page there's a red exclamation mark (!) by Download Progress and also in red is the "Required Game Version" figure.

Now I bought the game via Steam, so all the updates and patches are there.

My list of DLC's are Return To Ostagar, The Darkspawn Chronicles and Leliana's Song.

I've uninstalled and then reinstalled and still no solution.

Please can anyone help?

Regards

Ash

dunno if this is the right place to post:
When I want to start "The Golems of Amgarrak" DLC via "other Campaigns"...then choose to import my character, his armor is gone.
Funny thing is that his helmet and weapon have been loaded...well I figured it is because the armor is the "Warden Armor" of the "Wardens Keep" DLC...so I took a look at my Inventory and also noticed that the Ring "The Lucky Stone" is also gone from the Editor Demo exklusive DLC ...so I did what was told in first post and made sure all DLC's are properly recognized...still doesnt work...

In Short: When I start "Golems of Amgarrak" and import my Character, none of the DLC Items gets imported.

EDIT: Ok I've just read, that any items obtained in the "Wardens Keep" DLC are not possible to import to Awakening. Somehow I have the feeling that will be also the case for the Golems DLC...

gnaah now I gotta replay the entire end of the game and try to find a fitting armor...and I actually planned to get Awakening today.

This worked for me, except for me, the DAUpdater folder is located at: C:\\ProgramData\\BioWare\\Dragon Age

[using Windows 7 and the Steam install]
