Just full disclosure right off the bat, I dont have the game yet but I plan to, just with big open games like this I like to wait for a patch or two before I dig in so I can get a better first time experience.

With that out of the way, the images I've seen of Qunari that you play in this game is.. Disturbing, it looks really off and not very good at all, with some exceptions, and when I say good I suppose I mean, closer to DA2 Qunari, a lot of great people have made nice stuff with what they got available to them.

Qunari is the favorite race/group that I can think of in recent memory, and seeing them being the way they are in this game really makes me sad, their heads look really small on their big bodies (At least on male qunari) and the hair options, the few i've seen (Since most comment that it's better to actually have no hair, then the awful ones that are there) it is not very good..

A lot of the faces i've seen also seem to have a bit of a weird look that I struggle to explain, like the face is stretched out over a mask that a human is wearing or something, with horns on it.

I'm curious if there are any plans for improve at least some of these points, at the very least hair? That might do wonders to improve the look, I realize that not everything can be done right away , especially not with a big game like this, so im wondering if there are anything on the way to make up for it down the line because right now it seems like qunari is getting the shaft and almost that it might have been better to have not had them in the game at all, it's not like it's something that would have been missed since they've never been playable before.

I had hoped the first time we played Qunari, an entirely new race in the fantasy universe, it would be something a bit more special then something that feels tacked on.

Again though I am more talking visuals here, I cant speak how they behave and interact in the game itself, and I really dont want to know either since I do not want to be spoiled :P

I hope I don't come off as very whiny here, if all you read is this sentence, I just wonder if there have been any words, or similar concerns about Qunari improvements in the future? Adding a hairstyle or two in a patch, in my ignorant mind granted, seems like something that could be possible? Maybe some adjustments to the face or something to give off the more iconic, awesome look they had in DA2

They are my favorite race too and I even agree with their philosophy :)  Qunari new design was a disappointment for me as well...I hoped that my Qunari could be like Arishok, Salit or Saarebas, but ah well...

...you're right about male proportions they didn't look that great, head is too smal and we didn't even have long hairs + we only have 2 horns instead of 4-8(Arishok) and we didn't even have beards which doesn't look like wadding and eyes...we didn't have black eyes...now Qunari looks more like a human but with horns, not so cool and unique comparing to DA2...plus there is no Qunari themed armor, maybe it's a bug or they'll add it latter I hope.

As far as I know, devs didn't said anything about hairstyles and yes, Qunari hairs are bad, really bad and I think devs understand this, hopefuly they'll add new ones alongside with Mirror of Transformation.

But despite all this game is pretty good.

There hasn't really been any word on improvements. Most of the talks still been about patching the bugs. I wouldn't hold my breath for visual additions for at least a few months.

Ughh that sucks. I guess that means human noble, I feel like that's really all they planned for anyway (Well originally it WAS) so it's probably where you'll get the best experience playing.

Playing Qunari without at least fixing the head size to fit the body is probably going to be really painful. I could always make a bald qunari but, one with a tiny head on a body like a male qunari? Eeeh that'll be tough to deal with

My qunari head doesn't feel small at all. A little too soft though. It didn't matter enough to me to stop me from playing a qunari. Still a great storyline and it opens you up to qunari side information.

Well I have the game and had originally hoped to play through as a Qunari. But after seeing how super limited the CC was in creating any decent-looking Qunari (not even close sadly to how they looked in DA2) I went with a plain old human.

I agree with pretty much everything you said as I noted in the other thread I created comparing the visual of the Qunari from DA2 to DAI and how (IMO) it was a downgrade aesthetically. I so wanted to create something cool resembling the Arishok, but there is no way to get anything close to that look in the current CC.

That's why I started as female Qunari :) But it's pretty hard to create good looking fem. qunari with such a poor hair choices + almost all armors can't be equiped by Qunari...hope it'll be fixed...so, yeah, playing as a qunari is a bad idea, at least for now :\

Well here's hoping it does get worked on, I think it's nice that they took feedback to heart after the initial Human only inq thing, but adding a bunch of races which essentially are just slightly tugged on humans is just.. Meh. I'd rather not have them then have something that just dont feel finished you know?

Indeed or at least they could've add Qunari race in some DLC...I'd be glad to pay for a finished Qunari race with unique armors, hairs, horns, eyes etc...

Qunari hair styles aren't the best, though given that we've never seen female qunari before (afaik) I'm happy with how my FemQunari Inquisitor has turned out. She's certainly got the physical presence to pull off being the Herald of Andraste (even if she's not sure if that's actually true or not) especially when wearing her Flames of the Inquisition medium armour:

In fact, I'm not sure I can bring myself to dress her in any other armour; they look rather drab by comparison even if they offer better protection (as an Archer a high AC isn't necessarily her most important perquisite).

We've seen fem. Qunari in DA2 concept art and in DA Comics:

DA3 Qunari Fem. Inq.(long hairs, unique horns):

I've hoped that my Fem. inq. could look like this:

also would be great if my character could wear something like this:

Disappointing is it not?

Sorry, I meant not seen in-game. I don't read the comics or look much at dev. art so my statement was clearly erroneous, apologies.

It is, I feel the hair is one of the worst offenders for Qunari looking so off as they do currently, adding another face preset perhaps, or some sort of skin detail that makes them look a bit more.. Rugged, or similar to DA2 qunari, would be another great(But probably bigger, and tougher) step

If it is possible to add a second preset with absolutely new face morph, then I don't understand why they attached horns to the hair slot? They could make let say one face morph and add different horns to it, so that each preset have different horns...

...as a result: possibility to wear helmets(at least hoods, or qunari themed and maybe with Vitaar at the same time) because Horns are not Hair anymore and what most important is that we could have more hair choices and multiple horns(from 2 to 8, like Arishok), maybe not so many choices, but I prefer few good looking multiple horns, like Arishok horns instead of what we have...

I'm more worried about the faces/heads then I am about the horns to be honest. The head seems too small on such a big body(On male), and the face looks like it's not properly attatched to the head, it's weird

Oh just remembered something, can you even have horns that is a bit more pale then the current black ones? I feel like I've only seen really dark horns, while the horns in DA2 were more grey. Makes me curious how much of a difference that color shift would have

I unfortunately agree that the qunari options make it very difficult to make an attractive qunari. It has to do with the eyebrows, the top of the head and the lack of hair. This would be a pain to change but they could at least add some less creepy eyebrows

Horns color are black only, but that's fine by me, I would be more than happy with just massive horns, long hair, black eyes, craftable qunari weapons(Bassrath-Kata or Stens Might) alongside with craftable Qunari themed armor in Arishok's style...but it feels like Bioware didn't even read this forum, didn't care of our opinions\suggestions, so I don't really hope to see Qunari themed Armor\Weapons, black eyes...though new Hairs\Horns in some DLC which is not free of course is possible...
